Terrible doesn’t dry – By far the worst appliance I have ever purchased. No matter what the clothes are still damp. If there is a trick to using and having clothes dry completely then please share. Sometimes clothes are still very damp and machine keeps stopping as if they’re dry, and no matter how you change settings it still won’t dry. Can’t believe these things can even be sold as a dryer

Coolant leaked out after 3 years and 9 months – We have purchased this for a hair salon and used it only to dry clean washed towels. Recently it doesn't dry anymore and we called the technician and paid $110 NZD, after the diagnosis, the technician told us that the coolant had leaked out, and there was no way to repair it. They offered a replacement unit at a discounted price, but the price was not that great compared to the price at the retail store. Show details

Doesn't dry anything – I bought it after the drought broke in Australia. It simply is not fit for purpose. I usually hang things out to dry outside after all we live in Australia and is usually pretty sunny. Last week I put in towels and ran it continuously for two days. The towels were still damp so I hung them out as it was sunny again. No matter what program I choose - it doesn't work. everything is always still damp. Show details

Happy Now After Getting Some Help on How to Use – I originally wrote a review saying how much I hated this machine and the fact that I could not get my clothes really dry. Bosch contacted me and the representative I spoke to explained that because it is a heat pump dryer, it works very differently to my old vented dryer. He recommended that I use the 'Timed Program Warm' function (which can be… Read more

increased in 10 min increments from 20mins to 1 hour etc) to get my clothes to the level of dryness that I like. He explained that the amount of electricity used by this dryer is much less than a vented dryer so it is very cost effective - but the price you pay is that it takes a lot longer than a vented dryer. But at least now I can do what I was doing previously - line drying up to a point, and then finishing off in the tumble dryer. And there is an unexpected benefit to the extra time it takes to dry clothes. My sons now hang out their laundry rather than leaving it lying around wet for days and then tumble drying at the last minute! I also talked to the representative about the fact that sheets get rolled up into one big ball. This happens because heat pump dryers only tumble in one direction. He suggested 'feeding' the sheets in rather than dumping them into the dryer. This has helped a lot.

Excellent Dryer – Extremely satisfied with my new dryer. I’ve been using it for 6 months now. I have no ventilation in my laundry and there’s no moisture in the laundry at all after using it. It’s gentle on all items I’ve put in, no change of quality in anything. It hasn’t altered my electricity account as some previous dryers I’ve had. Ticks all the boxes for me. Show details

The worst dryer imaginable – Does not completely dry clothes . So when you put them away , they will be ever so slightly damp and become mouldy . Dying time is approximately four hours and still does not dry properly. Show details

Rarely dries – I need to dry towels on a daily basis because of my two not house-trained diabetic dogs. The dryer electronics are a pain and it keeps stopping and it doesn't really dry effectively. With lockdown it's even more necessary to be drying towels and it's very annoying.

Easy to Use, Great Lint Removal – I may be biased, as this is the first dryer I've ever owned; I've always been a big fan of sun drying (and low power bills). For a first dryer, it's efficient, fast, and I don't need to stress too much about what I can put in it. My washing machine has been leaving lint on clothing, and I've been using the dryer to remove the lint, more than… Read more

anything. Having clothing dry at the end is just a bonus. The size is great too, as it's just a little larger than my washing machine, but still dries well even with a full load.

Emptying out the water and lint traps is something I have to do regularly, but overall it's worth the effort for such quick and effective drying.

Best dryer I've ever owned. Takes a while to adjust as it's different! – I use this dryer nearly every day ( apart from Summer of course). I love that it is easy to use and there is no excess moisture in the room. Previously I had to have dryers in the garage etc due to this issue. Takes a bit of getting used to as the clothes are dried in a different way so whilst they are not "hot to touch" dry - the clothes are… Read more

actually dry. It's kind of amazing! I put everything in it. Can definitely see difference in my power bills too - is so efficient - even through the coldest and wettest months. Absolutely recommend this beauty, so if you are unsure - go for it!

No issues so far - loving it – I was a bit nervous buying this after the mixed reviews but so far so good. It does take a while to dry but that is fine with us and the clothes are dry when they come out. It is very very quiet compared to a traditional machine and does not generate all the external heat. We are very pleased with it. We also stacked it on a Bosch washing machine and that has also saved us a lot of space in the laundry. Show details ·  1

Works well – I bought this dryer as it was the shallowest I could find and wouldn’t stick out from our bench top to far. After I ordered it I read some negative reviews on how it didn’t dry properly. I don’t know what those people were doing but we have dried all sorts of clothes. I just put it on cotton extra dry and let it go. The heat pump dryer does take a lot longer than the old dryer. Show details ·  1

Horrible!!!, Avoid the time waste – I bought the dryer only a couple of days ago based on the bew technology, and energy rating which is supposed to make it better than normal dryers, but this was a bad decision. The dryer takes forever to dry, that is not the problem tho, it stops every 6-10 mins, no matter what program you set it in. I read the whole manual and tried everything… Read more

and nothing worked, had it only for 2 days and returned it and swapped it for a Fisher & Paykel which was a lot cheaper. I rather spend more on energy, but at least I will get my clothes dry.

Extremely happy with purchase! – I was sceptical at first, so many reviews noted that clothes didn't dry properly or it took too long etc. The clothes are so lovely and soft and no humidity in the laundry at all. It takes longer than a typical dryer but definitely worth it. You'll need to clean the filter and water out after each cycle but it's honestly no different to emptying… Read more ·  1

Great Value Heat Pump Dryer – This Bosch heat pump dryer was purchased for our household in November 2018. Our household has 6-8 people with children aged 20 months to 16 years so there is a lot of laundry. Positives: Good Price for a heat pump dryer Drys a full load from the washer very well The 'Iron' setting is great for removing clothes slightly damp for ironing When… Read more ·  1

operating is very quiet. The filter system is well designed and easy to clean No need to vent laundry

Negatives: Almost dry clothes from the clothes line can't be dried on an auto setting as the dryer operates for a few minutes then stops. The time function must be utilised for mostly dry clothes. Sheets roll into a ball in the middle of the drum. The same happened on our old Asko dryer. Just have to interrupt the cycle and separate the sheets a couple of times during a cycle.

We only dry laundry that is intended for the dryer. Overall we are satisfied with this heat pump dryer.

Perfect for rainy days – Find the Bosh 8 very gentle on all types of fabrics including delicates. Very easy to operate and lots of temperature options. Would recommrnd opening a door slightly when in use even though the heat pump does not need outside ventilation. Show details ·  1

Deserves ZERO stars DOES NOT DRY CLOTHES – Purchased this expensive dryer in April, it's now October and I'm so sick of this thing not drying anything, no matter what cycle I select. Regretted it from day 1. I try to put as little as possible in the dryer , but this machine won't dry a small load at all, it just ends the cycle after about a minute ! It will go a little longer if the load… Read more

is bigger, but you still wouldn't leave it, as you'd still come back to damp clothes. I called the Bosch customer service line and was told they could send out a technician, but I could be charged for that - the thing is just 6 months old and has NEVER worked. What a joke, looks like I'll have to put the pressure on David Jones - I want my money back !!!

Wish I hadn’t bought it – Was willing to spend a lot more for the added energy efficiency, but unfortunately it’s also at the complete loss of efficacy. Clothes take at least 4 times longer to dry, and so often they just still aren’t dry enough. No matter how many times I reset and restart the dryer, items are still damp. Completely unable to put a load on at night and know it will be dry in the morning. A basic cycle is about 4 ½ hours. Very very disappointed. Show details

Very happy – Decided to go the whole hog and buy a heat pump dryer ... and after quite a lot of research settled on the Bosch Serie 4. I had read a few reviews from people saying that it didn't dry properly, but I have found it to be quiet, and reasonably quick to dry a variety of laundry. It does a great job on towels spin dried at 1200rpm in the washer… Read more ·  1

first, and seems to be at its best if you keep the load reasonably consistent in fabric types. That said, on a few occasions I have just put everything in together and it seems to be fine.

The controls offer a number of separate programs, and drying options (cupboard dry, iron dry etc), or you can just pick a time (20 mins, 40 mins etc).

I don't see a discernible change in my electricity bill either.

I would strongly recommend this product. Could not be happier.

Bosh heat pump dryer – We bought this WTH85200AU one days ago from the harvey norman thomastown and start using it today. It keep stopping itself, we thought the cloth should be dried, but it’s not! Love! Love! Love! Quiet & No need to vent! – I have had mine since since August 2018, I even bought one from home clearance with a couple scratches & dents plus a crack on the door. Mine works perfectly and most of the time I use the delicates, mixed, towels settings... sometimes it does leave my plusher towels a little damp but nothing another half hour on the timed program warm with fine… Read more ·  1

adjustment to +++ always does the trick. And hint: the same program is great for the towels just before you hop in the shower in the midst of winter. Sometimes though having to press the start button repeatedly on the panel does frustrate on the odd occasion if you're in a hurry. So much better now I don't have to deal with mould issues with no need to vent this dryer.

Makes doing laundry a whole lot easier – I bought this tumble drier to replace an older tumble drier and I am really impressed with it. It dries the clothes really well once you are able to fine tune the additional drying setting. The filters are built well to ensure that no lint gets through to the condenser system. It does take quite a while to dry the clothes but that's what one… Read more ·  1

expects from an energy efficient drier. Clothes are uniformly dried. The only issues I have are that the first filter easily gets blocked when one is drying towels and the cycle stops indicating that the is a blockage in a filter. This is resolved easily by cleaning it out by hand and resuming the cycle. Also it doesn't finish a cycle with very small loads. It runs quietly as well which is a bonus. No lint seems to get trapped in the back of the drum which is a problem I had with the older drier.
