Bose QuietComfort 20 QC20
I have brought this item twice and both times i have had a buzzing noise coming through the ear pieces, especially when it is charging and also the inner protection inside the headphones has worn away.
Don't get me wrong the sound quality is excellent, I just wish they fix this problem, as it is well known to them, if you read the reviews on other websites
Great sound at a high price
Good ear fit. Cable could be thicker and feels a bit fragile. The sound is wonderful though and Dheres to the sound you would expect from this brand. I would have preferred if there was an option for an iPhone lightning connector plug. Using an adaptor is very very frustrating
Good noise canceling
Let's face it these are just simply a solid pair of cans. I would have really appreciated wireless bluetooth functionality but they're a decent pair of first noise cancelling headphones. They're especially a good deal now as they have had a significant price cut due to these been considered "outdated"
Definitely a solid 6/10
Would be perfect but for the hiss.
I have had this unit for 3 weeks now - simply cannot get used to the hissing without the noise cancellation on and not listening to anything.
Would return it tomorrow if there was something better by the way of noise cancelling earbuds.
Having said that the noise cancellation is great - turned my TV up to 20 (normally listen at about 12 or 13) and could not hear the sound with the earphones on. Could not hear anything that I did not want to on the train either.
Excellent noise cancellation but let down with inferior wire insulation
I've owned my QC20 for 2 years. Prior to my QC20, I was using the Pioneer SE-NC31C-K which also has active noise cancellation. I always take great care of all my gears but I'm quite disappointed with my Bose QC20. The rubber wiring insulation has not hold up as well as my Pioneer. I'm seeing cracks along the cable and right below right-angle jack. For the price I have higher expectation from Bose brand.
Compact but not entirely quiet
I replaced a previous set of Bose in-ear noise cancelling headphones with these. They worked well at first but after about six months began to drop in quality of noise cancellation. If you like a compact in-ear headphone then these are fine, however i think the larger headphones work a lot better.
Not worth the price tag
Bought Bose qc35 for my husband and he loved it. So thought I bought myself a present and got a smaller earphone with Bose. Paid $350, used once and decided to sell. Even though it's small but with battery intact, it makes it bulky/inconvenience to use, plus sound wise I think I can get something cheaper with the same quality
crisp sound and blocks out airport noise
not as effective as over ear versions but smaller, less conspicuous and lighter. the in wire battery section is a little bulky for in-ear headphones but some sacrifices need to be made for the active noise cancelling. Would not consider these for jogging/gym unless you have a plan for the battery...I purchased these to help prevent more noise damage to my ears from turning up the volume to drown out the world and so far so good. Not as bassy as others but definitely clearer sound. Works fine for phone calls but volume control is on phone only, ...not on mike section (unless I have missed something...) Overall, happy with purchase but worried I'll close my eyes and miss my boarding call now...give the sleeping guy with bose qc20s a poke please ;)
Miracle-like in its performance until is stopped working after 6 months
The only reason I am not giving this 5 stars is that mine stopped cancelling noise after 5 months. When they worked they were amazing. So much so I have replaced the non-working first set with a new identical set.
I hate noisy environments and these allowed me to go about ordinary day to day activities while reducing my discomfort, anxiety and stress. For instance shopping in a supermarket and not having to listen to the people, horrible music/ads, banging trolleys etc was a revelation. Likewise when walking along next to heavy traffic (...
Some pros and cons
Like many others I also feel they do a good noise-cancelling job and has a good to decent sound. I previously heard good thing about their customer support. But the quality is terrible and so has the customer service experience been. [See new edit below] As at least someone else here wrote in their review, the cords broke up after 2 years of usage (I don't wear them often) so that the metal is visible. The button that makes you hear outside noise broke after 1,5 years. The headphones are still working but seeing the cords it is a matter of time...before they are ready to toss. The customer service didn't bother to answer the last two times I emailed them. So I guess they aren't so good taking care of their customer after all. Edit 13 December 2016: After a review on Amazon.com I got an answer from a US customer representative and they asked me to email them. After that I got to change the headphones and got a pair of new ones. So I changed my rating from 1 to 3. It was cumbersome to get these new pair but I'm pretty satisfied now.
