3 bad experiences in a row
I have been shopping on Brandsexclusive for some time and never had issues until recently. I always liked the site for its great sales. Unfortunately I won't be shopping with Brandsexclusive again. I ordered a number of clothing items in a single order and one was missing in my parcel. I ordered two baby rompers which have still not been delivered after 2 1/2 months. I also ordered 2 baby dresses for a baby shower where the Mum is expecting twins. I ordered 2 identical dresses. The dresses I received are different sizes! It seems that some Brandsexclusive suppliers are rubbish. It is not worth the risk of buying from this site as you just don't know whether your order will be ok or not.
Brands have started not refunding they keep all my money in credit as apparently if something isn't what it looks like online or doesn't fit it's a change of mind, which they won't refund. Their policy when reading it is a little ambiguous. Having a lot of trouble getting my money back. they have started selling clothing from Asia, which is fine if you are a small size even with lots of x's in front of the L won't fit a lot of us. They have been great to date - this seems to be a new thing and basically I want my money not credit. Being an online store how on earth can you not refund when things don't fit or are not the colour on your website!? Won't be using them again.
Wrong size: no refund
Be aware that Brands Exclusive does NOT give refunds. I recently bought a dress my normal size but it didn't fit me: I also bought shoes my size which didn't fit. Inspite of this being beyond my control, I wasn't given my money back, only credits. Not good enough. I won't be shopping on this site again. Delivery takes many weeks.
On the 24th February, I purchased 4 bar stools (total of $338) and unfortunately when they arrived, were not suitable. I contacted them, went through the normal return process first and asked for approval to return, they gave me that and I returned them and to this day, haven't received a refund.
At one time, there were 10 credits (was not sure to what value each credit was) in my account but a couple of weeks ago, they had disappeared. I wasn't sure if they expired etc, so when I enquired about this they gave me a $10 credit instead. (not ...
Are we talking about the same site??
Very surprised to read these latest reviews. I was a BE customer for quite a few years up until recently. I previously used a similar site and moved to BE because of (at the time!) good reviews. Over the last 6 months my experiences with BE have gone downhill. I always expected long delivery times but to wait months and then be told the item is no longer available or the wrong item is sent is unacceptable. This was happening frequently. In addition, item descriptions are not always accurate, some items appear to be either 'seconds' or old stock..., returns and refunds take forever and getting someone on the phone is hit and miss. Emails are answered fairly quickly but are often generalised replies which tell you little. The last straw was being asked to provide a photo for an item that was totally different to what was advertised. What will that prove? On its return BE would be able to see the error. I have since cancelled my membership of BE and have found other (so far) reliable shopping sites. Be wary of these type of companies, it isn't always a good experience.
Nearly 3 months for delivery
Ordered a pair of sunning on 7th nov 2014- it's 23jan 2015/ still waiting. They keep telling me they are having difficulty sourcing the Sunny's from the supplier. If u don't have the product - don't sell the bloody thing. I agree they used to be good but now they are just taking too long
Return Process is too difficulty
Brands Exclusive sent out the incorrect colour bath mats (cost $30). Even though it was obviously their error I was informed that I would need to fill out forms, send photos and take to a Post Office and paid for postage. I would say READ WHAT MY ORDER IS!!! White is very different to GREEN!!!! I shop online to save time, however this process will ensure in the future that I just shop at conventional stores in the future.
Really slow delivery and incomplete towel set with poor compensation
Ordered two different colour Country Road towel sets. They took well over a month to arrive and when they did, were only of basic quality and one of the bath mats was missing and an extra towel had been accidentally (?) sent instead. When we made BE aware, they offered a refund only on the bath mat and said they had no further stock. We would have been far better off going to the 6 monthly sales at a department store where we could have bought COMPLETE sets of towels of higher quality for the same price.
Didn't have to leave home to buy the goods.
The goods took a long time to arrive, were of average quality, were missing part of the set and BE offered a poor refund.
It pays to be aware of your rights as a consumer when using this site and similar (OzSale etc.)
I recently bought a chancebanda from BE, claiming to be a leather bag worth $300+ for the bargain price of just $99 (if the price is too good to be true it usually is). The bag contains no label stating the material content (alarm bells ring immediately). It looks and feels like vinyl but strangely smells a little bit like leather. One panel of the bag is a slightly different colour and feel to the other panels, it leaves a mark when scratched like leather. I expect this panel is leather; the rest is vinyl so they can claim it’s a leather bag.... After reading some other reviews, particularly those around misleading product descriptions, i felt it worth reminding people of their rights as a consumer if they feel they have been mis-sold goods based on their quality or description. BE’s returns policy is unlawful and misleading. More info here: [url removed] Supply of goods in all contracts for goods, consumers are protected by the inclusion of a number of statutory conditions and statutory warranties. The statutory conditions require that: 1) goods must be of merchantable quality – they must meet a level of quality and performance that would be reasonable to expect, given their price and description. They should also be free from defects that were not obvious at the time of purchase. 2) goods must be fit for their intended purpose – they should be suitable for any particular purpose the buyer made known to the seller 3) the goods must match the description given to the consumer, or the sample shown. Misleading consumers about their rights statutory rights are consumers’ rights which are implied in all consumer contracts by the act. They cannot be changed, limited or refused by a seller. It is against the law for a seller to do anything that leads consumers to believe their rights are limited, or do not apply – for example, by claiming that no refunds will be given under any circumstances. Any misleading claims a business makes about a consumer’s statutory rights are invalid and do not affect a consumer’s right to obtain a remedy for a breach of a statutory condition or warranty. Store return policies that set a time limit, such as ‘no refunds after 30 days’, can be misleading because statutory rights have no time limits, other than what is ‘reasonable’. Similarly, insisting consumers return goods unopened, or in their original packaging may be misleading (as these are not required to claim a remedy under statutory rights). ‘store credit’ a consumer is generally entitled to receive any refund in the form of their original payment. For example, if they paid for an item with a credit card, it is reasonable for the seller to give the consumer a credit card refund. It is misleading for a seller to insist that a refund be issued as store credit. If you are familiar with the brand you are buying and its actual retail value there are some good deals to be had Clearly misleading RRPs listed on the site and an unlawful returns policy
Ex brands exclusive shopper
I have spent thousands of dollars at BE over the last few years but will no longer be shopping with them as they have just insulted my intelligence over damage stock I received - yet again. I recently put a stop on receiving the daily sale emails as I became sick & tired of receiving damaged items & orders cancelled due to 'stock not available', but was lured back (when the emails automatically started again after a month)by a sale on a brand that I like. Well from that sale a top I received had bad fade lines on it & a white mark. The top was ...folded flat in plastic packaging & the fading is on 3 fold lines on the front of the top, clearly it has been damaged by the sun or lighting. I asked for a refund sent in the photos they requested & did recieve the refund but the accompanying email stated they are only refunding because the top looks different to the one shown on the website & then insinuated the top is supposed to be like that because its called "Solid Patch Top" ie supposed to be 'patchy' they said. The top is a solid blue with inserts of white and floral fabric on a few places. Clearly these inserts are the patches!!!! Not the 3 distinctly faded lines that match exactly with the fold lines of the packaging!! Brands Exclusive, I am not stupid & resent your implication that I am. So that's it for me I am now cancelling my subscription totally. Aside from that, I have found over the years that at least 90% if not more of items I have purchased have either a fault that is found straight away or it will show up shortly after wearing/owning the item or the sizing is incorrect, such as youth size items sold as man size or shoes that are clearly a much smaller fit than the size stated ie Euro 40 size 9au which are really a 39 or size 8, jewellery that is just rubbish or has faults - a beautiful necklace I purchased can not be worn because you can not do up the clasp because of bad design or items have scratches, or 'lumps' on pearls that should not be there etc. A lot of crinckle fabric items I've later found to have holes in them or seams that fall apart which is not apparent when first received, boots with zips that break open (I actually got stuck in a pair after putting them on the zip split & I could not get the zip down or the boot of my foot & had to ring a friend for help!!) I have purchased glass wear that is not properly packed and is broken on arrival, bags & shoes advertised as leather that upon arrival are clearly not leather, items where one strap is shorter than the other..... I could go on for a long time about the faults & innacurate advertising in items - you need to inspect things very carefully because I have found most items have some kind of fault or sizing issue or something wrong with them. There are a lot of things I have not returned because I could live with the faults but they should be made to advertise that a lot of the items they sell are seconds. When I purchase I usually have quite a lot in the one order, I have had a few orders where I have like 12 items on the one order & have bought as soon as the sale started but are then told weeks later that the whole order is cancelled because of 'inventory issues from the supplier'...c'mon every single item not available??? How can this be? especially when you order within the first few minutes of a sale.....I have asked them how they distribute items....Is it first in first served or by alphabetical name order or what...I did not receive a clear response...but they must have some system in place & I tend to think it may be in alphabetical order because my surname starts with a W and the amount of large orders I have had cancelled from sales I've purchased from in the first few minutes is ridiculous. Oh and I have also seen that items I have had cancelled due to no stock have appeared again for sale a few weeks later - how does that happen?? As far as the complimentary $20 credit goes it seems they no longer wish to give it to me as the last few complaints have received a refund & nothing more - since I decided to complain about all faulty items maybe they think " I protesteth too much" and don't deserve their goodwill gesture any more! At any rate I will no longer shop there, I will no longer tell friends & family to shop there. I used to say to people...great place to shop, yeah some of the items are seconds, but you get bargains. Now I tell people...beware, expect to wait at least a month for your items, expect to find faults or innacurate sizing/labelling/advertising, go over every item with a fine tooth comb & complain complain & complain about every single fault you find. Maybe if more people did complain & not, like I used to, accept the faults in items they would have to lift their game. The only good thing I can say is that unlike other people I have not had an issue with the customer service.. until now.
Terrible customer service!
If you 100% know the product you're purchasing, this site can be ok (since now you can purchase several items from different sales). But, don't expect prompt customer service. Or even service similar to department stores. Their policies on purchases are questionable. I would in future just go to the nearest department store to ensure what I pay for is of optimal quality.
Sometimes good sales.
Quality can be terrible. Returns policy is questionable.
I have placed multiple orders on BE and have quickly found that the quality of goods received isnt always great. I ordered a dress that was amazing and another that certainly wasnt. I cant be bothered with refunds and will just give it away. What I do like about their site is that you can track where exactly your order is in the process which is useful.
Order tracking, good website, ok prices
Poor products quality and continually IT problems.
I have been shopping from BE since Sep 2012, and have placed more than ten orders. At first, there was not much to complain, cause i was getting stuff that are lower than half price, and i put up with three weeks delivery and poor quality of my cloth and jewels. But things changed after this year, the supply and IT issues has been occured continually, and forced me to cancle my items disregards weeks of expecting it.
And things getting worse, i had an order with two OPI nail polish, a jacket and other couple things, and waited five weeks with...
Received Broken Goods Again!!!
I purchased 3 porcelain cacti and two were advertised at white gloss. They were all matt in colour, one was broken and another one looked like it had been glued together and then shipped to me after it had previously been broken. Did i call them.... no!!! Why? last time i ordered from them and received broken goods they advised me i could not get a refund..... ummm hello, pack better so your "fragile" products dont break. It's not neuroscience!!!
nice website and descriptions
the way the products are advertised varies to what you actually receive
Slow and disappointing
Although their products appear to be quite good, the delivery time can be months, not weeks, which is very frustrating. I am a very experienced online shopper - have been for years - and their supply chain management is appalling. Ozsale, for example, sells similar items and usually delivers in half the time (not always). An order for Bohemia crystal placed with BE on 30 August is still "Ordered from Supplier", which interpreted means it is still weeks away. No contact from BE about it either. Very reluctant to purchase any further and will stick with Ozsale as a result.
Very slow delivery, lack of communication.
Advertised brands and items not what is received
Decided to give Brands Exclusive a go for the first time and buy a couple of business suits off them in a recent suit sale.
Well after waiting 2 weeks for half the order, the brand delivered was not the same brand advertised to be supplied. In fact, it was made by the same company but what was delivered was their budget brand not the known brand advertised. Secondly, as a two pant suit only received one pant with suit. When I got through to their customer service department (surprised they advertised their number on the web site, extra point...for that one) the nice lady taking the call said she had a complaint the day before and 'thought it was an isolated case'. But then went on to say, they received a brand not advertised and it was their fault, don’t know what happened etc. Offered a 50% refund, while ok for a very large 'known' error, bordering on fraud and false advertising, it didn't meet the reason I purchased a two trouser suit. No solution offered. Considering reporting to the ACCC for false advertising etc. I've had better luck from dodgy Chinese companies on other auction site than with Brands Exclusive. Maybe it should be called "Brands Allusive" Quick to want money, slow to deliver, don't provide what was offered and misleading advertising.
Questions & Answers
I work for a fashion label, we are interested in moving stock on Brands Exclusive.
Can a representative please contact me.
I have been a member of Bransexclusive for years and am now being flipped to Catch when I log in to buy something. Is Catch now under the Brandsexclusive brand or the other way around. Would you please advise as I have previously asked this question. A private Email reply would be appreciated. Cheers Janice
