We had a healthy, lively 2 year old male cat. After vets recommendation to use Bravecto we did so, NEVER EVER AGAIN. Since the initial dose he has been lethargic, watery eyes and sneezing. We to him to a vet they could not find any virus just told us to monitor him. Now 2 weeks after still no improvement.

feel very sad I have given this to my cat
I waited until my cat was able to have it - as my cat has been very unwell. I dosed her last week and she has clumps of fur falling out, bald patches where I dosed her. When she meows its a screaming angry meow - she’s angry. Breathing has appeared laboured at times. She is 16 and hope she is through the worst of it, has been about 6 days. I have bathed the area with tepid water to see if I could remove the residual - will never give her this again

My healthy 5 yr old cat had it on Sunday and today (Thursday) I fear that he won’t make it.
Loss of appetite, lethargic, very sick. Doesn’t want to be touched at all. Not himself. I will never use this again. Vets go this so wrong. Don’t use it please

The first time I used Bravecto Plus both cats seemed fine, however after the second dose one was super lethargic, spaced out and confused with dilated pupils and unsteady on his feet. He's now got a large sore and hair loss where it was applied which is only getting worse by the day. The other cat freaked out when it was applied, trying his hardest to run away. He's never had this reaction to Advocate before. I reported these symptoms to the Bravecto call line and was told they're normal. Anything that causes cognitive issues, open sores and hair loss is not something that should be anywhere near an animal.
Turned my cat aggressive
I have one mother cat and her two kittens, who are now almost 6 months old. Got Bravecto applied to all 3 yesterday at the vet. Straight after we got home, mumma cat turned aggressive towards her kittens, she has attacked them several times now. I have scratches all over me from trying to protect the kittens from her. This is the first time she has ever done this, and I can only link it to the Bravecto. I will be looking for alternatives.

Will he die?
I purchased Bravecto for the first time almost two weeks ago. I have used other topical monthly flea drops but never this. This said 6 months. That was my first red flag it was strong. My 15yr old has beginning stage adrenal failure but very healthy still UNTIL THIS! He's was fat and never missed a meal. He even would steal the dogs food...that was before this poison. From 18lbs to 8lbs. He first hid. Then slowly walked out. i didn't really notice for a week. A week later he is increasingly worse! His body aches, his jaw hurts, his coat is fal...ling out, he eats only wet food on a dish presented where he is sleeping because he walks squatting down. He has to be carried to the litter box or will pee where he lies. I called the vet 4 days ago and washed the area. I asked how to reverse this. There is NOTHING! I bring him in today for fluids and any other support they can give him. I had a gut feeling when buying this I ignored because of the savings. Now that 30$ a month may kill my boy.

I gave my 6 month old kitten Bravecto plus this evening, I placed exactly as directed at the back of her neck at about 6pm. At about 8pm I had noticed her chin was very wet. Like she had dipped her whole neck in the water bowl. I Didn't think much of it at the time, but I was then woken up by her at 12am running in and out of the room, panting very loud (sounded like a small dog) and excessively scratching at all 4 legs, tail and face. I immediately thought it has to be the flea treatment causing this as its very out of character for her and th...at's the only thing different to her normal daily schedule. I quickly looked online as to how to remove the product and found something that said to use dish soap in 3 washes, so I washed it off with dish soap immediately. It has reduced the panting significantly after about half an hour. I will give it another hour or so and wash the area again and see how she goes she is still scratching all over and seems very disoriented and a little off balance. I will never use this product on her again. I feel very stressed after all of that, I felt terrible cause I put this terrible stuff on her. I have used another brand on her previously and knew in my gut I should have stuck to that brand as she never had an issue with it. But was sold this by my local pet store on recommendation as they didn't have any she had used previously in stock. Needless to say I won't get this brand ever again. I will hold off and wait till they have my usual brand in stock.

Cats are supposed to have healthy coats
Our pet seemed normal at first, the treatment was placed behind neck as advised. We begin to notice small bald patches & believed he had ringworm. We treated this with a bought wash& expected a full recovery, fool the operative word. Several vet trips, & poisonings later, we now have the answer thanks to finding this. The vet who said fleas had caused his condition, & without asking about his prior dose gave him more flea treatment, I'd done it a few days prior!!! I am amazed our mate Moonie Mungbean is still alive, I can now treat the baldness...& give back his happy life, I told my hubby that MM looked like he'd had chemo, I hope this makes others wonder as it is us. I feel so cruel & stupid, I wonder how vets must feel about promoting products that they know cause these issues or does the money pouring in for treating them blind their conscience??? I had to borrow money for the last vet visit to be told I needed $270 more to see a "specialist", I saw this instead. Not only do I want a refund for the several products but I want a refund from the vets who charged me to poison my family member, Moonie Mungbean is not a pet.

Works, but somethings wrong
We used the spot on. The product definitely protects and eliminates againsts fleas ticks and worms, however it comes at risk. Our kitty changes after he receives this. Goes weird and his personality changes. Runs around like crazy, Pupils change and he pants then sleeps. The next time we used it, it was even worse. He had a small seizure. I didn’t know really what was happening. We decided to wash it off and not to apply it again. We are now on the lookout for something new and not so harsh. Surely companies can come up with something gentler on our fur babies.

Do not let vet give to your cat!
I hesitated 2x after my vet wanted to apply this to my cat. Last time I agreed and my cat now has a bald spot where this was applied. This cannot be good for my cat!!! He just got over a 6 week bout with anal Gland surgery and now this??? I hope this stuff does not hurt him further or this company will have problems with me!!! I also want my $50 Back for the added stress and to keep my cat from itching! Poison!

Side effects - paranoia
Within a short time after applying Bravecto between my cat's shoulder blades, he started acting strange. He seemed paranoid about everything and disoriented in his familiar surroundings. He continues to be easily frightened even after four months since we applied the last treatment. I thought the first time was just due to changing products but after the second time and the same reaction, I really think he is having a neurologic reaction to it. I will not be buying Bravecto again even though the vet's office highly recommended it. I would not recommend using it at all.

Buyer beware it may kill your cat
Bravecto Plus was used on my cat. 24 hours later she was vomitting, lathargic, high temp, and had severe toxicity poisoning, which has resulted in a urinary tract infection. Braveto dont care as she is 1 out of 10,000 cases, and it is stated as a known cause. Disgusting

Questions & Answers
This is the second time after giving my cat the 3mth. Bravecto treatment for worms etc. she has been throwing up . What is the cause?
Honestly I’d take your cat to the vet. My cat has only had one dose of bravecto but has lost all his hair on his neck and I’m now having to use antibiotic cream as it got infected from him scratching at the stuff burning his skin. I’m so mad at this brand and how they can even be recommended by vets
My 3.5 year old healthy cat had bravecto about 3 weeks ago and is still suffering symptoms. Hair loss on the back of his neck, very lethargic and lost some use of his back legs. I took him to the vets and there is nothing they can do. He is slowly becoming himself again. I do not recommend this product at all! It’s dangerous and should not be sold at all!
Bravecto plus was used on my 13 yr old cat by the Vet in NZ. Not long after at home he became weird. He was wobbly when walking, he stopped eating but drinking a lot of water, his pupils were dilated, he looked like he was having a stroke, he was very confused. I took him back to the Vets who took a lot of blood tests. The Vet thought he had meningitis with the symptoms he had. He turned 14yrs in March 2021 and my daughter gave him another dose of Bravecto when I was away, he developed the same symptoms as before. He seems very confused when I call him he doesn't appear to know where he is. I am worried now that it is the Bravecto as I know the Vet did not test him for toxity. I phoned the Vet last week and the Receptionist tells me Bravecto is safe but I have a gut feeling it is Bravecto that has caused him to be like this. Not sure what to do now. shouls I contact Merc?
Yes I would. I called and the representative took my information, provided action number, and said to call them if any additional concerns and/or I needed to take my cat to the vet. Luckily, the 3 cats that lost hair didn't have any further issues. Good luck and no more of this toxic dangerous product!
He is a beautiful intelligent Pedigree Birman and now when he walks his head tilts to the side. He gets confused when outside not knowing where to go. Hes not eating much but drinks a lot of water.
I am so sorry for my cats! I have 3 and gave them all a dose of Bravecto yesterday. My girls are now acting funny, and now I am reading all of those comments, and I am devastated. I hate that I might have hurt them badly with this poison. I live them so much, how in the hell do vets sell this crap without notice!!
Will large cat size Bravecto Topicle harm an 11 pound cat?
I would say yes! My cat was ick named Garfield. 4 days after I gave it to him, he started to stop eating. We went to the vet. They took blood. It was all over the place. His routine check up had been just 8 day's prior, thats when I bought the Bravecto. We tested his Urine. No problems there. He is now home and on an IV fluid bag. He eats only when I carry the smooshed food to him. He drinks if I carry water to him. I wish I had stayed with monthly doses.
