Worst experience ever, stay away from this company
I bought my property through Bresic and it was quite an easy and smooth process, reason why I decided to lease it as well with them -I thought the experience could be as good, but it seems like the only thing that matters to the company is the money, there’s not respect or whatsoever for the owners.
I can’t actually believe why it took me so long to move on with another company.
The whole experience of leasing my property with Bresic has been unpleasant and a completely disappointment. Here a list of the reasons why I think you are the worst pr...
I signed a lease with the BresicWhitney Darlinghurst office and have regretted it ever since. From the inaccurate and lazy condition report to zero information to condescending and ignorant emails to empty threats, I was treated like the scum of the earth by their leasing department. It’s clear they care more about money and their pretentious office than customer service.
Word of advice to future or current renters- apply to fair trading for return of your bond as soon as you hand back the keys as you’re unlikely to see any money from BresicWh...
Great Real Estate Agent
I have been a fan of BresicWhitney since I met a first agent when I inspected a Drummoyne house several years ago. And this time, I sold my properties through them and Allister Scott was absolutely another impressive agent to work with. He was professional, direct/honest yet respectful. He handled the difficult situations very well and delivered what he committed to. Thank you Allister and team! I am more than happy with their services and the results. I highly recommend BresicWhitney from every aspect.
I am astounded with how awful our experience was with Bresic Whitney. They are poor property managers who, instead of focusing on customer service, invest their time into siphoning out every penny they can from their tenants. We are still waiting for some of our bond to be returned to us even though the end of lease report recorded no issues - and to put it in context we moved out over two months ago.
I would never engage with these money grabbers again. 0 stars!
The Worst Scum Bags I've ever dealt with
We rented a property for 2 years. When we left we awaited our $6400 bond back. Over a month went by and we kept getting a number of fake excuses as to why we wouldn't be getting it back. They tried everything from telling us a wardrobe that belonged to the house had been left there, to double charging us $1200 for the end of lease clean. They even tried charging us the cost of expired water bills! The lies they tell are insane and they will happily destroy lives.
I would walk away from a dream rental home in future, simply to avoid having to deal with the incompetence and disgusting practice of Bresic Whitney.
They shouldn't be in the business of property management
Its a shame this site doesn't allow a 'zero' star rating, as this agency would definitely be up for it.
They are essentially a landlord's agency, so they are as useful for a tenant, as a golf club is to a cricket batsman out in the middle. They are naturally focused on shafting the tenant and stay very close to the borderline, even though they have a complete lack of a grasp of the tenancy code. As a tenant, I recommend avoiding any property managed by them.
Indeed, even as the owner of properties within inner Sydney, I would never use these guys as all it does is create animosity and negative sentiment between the landlord and the tenant, and sours the rental experience for all concerned.
Absolutely painful dealing with this agency
Bresic Whitney the worst to deal with on every level. They make the landlord's life and also the renter's life unnecessarily difficult. The communication that's forwarded from one to the other party (landlord to renter or the other way around) is almost always not accurate, they spread lies and create misunderstandings and anger.
I would highly recommend staying away from these people, even if, at first, they seem nice.
I am already dreading moving out, as they have been nothing but terrible to deal with during the tenancy.
Be wary of Bresic Whitney
We rented a property for 3 and a half years, which [name removed] managed. Although she and BresicWhitney were slow to respond to any maintainace issues, we weren’t too concerned. Every inspection was perfect as we took great care of the property. After we vacated, we were shocked to learn she (on behalf of the owners, though I’m positive they weren’t aware) claimed the full bond for phoney damages, which was lodged before we were told if any issues. [name removed] claims that during all those inspections, we must have covered up any damage). ...Due to some marks on the 18 year old carpet, we are coping a full re carpet. A small mark in the ancient floor boards, she is stinging us for a full sanding and finishing of the floor boards. We never screwed anything into the old walls and she thinks we should cough up for a full paint job of the house, a leaking tap which she failed to get fixed for weeks caused slight damage to a 20 year old kitchen cupboard, she has billed us for a full kitchen refit. After having our own cleaner clean the house we had a exit cleaning company also do the house so it was spotless. [name removed] has billed us another $1000 for extra cleaning. (A small terrace house!, seems far fetched). We used Bresic Whitney to manage a rental we owned and didn’t seem to have many issues, so my point is that I would recommend no one rents a property through Bresic Whitney, especially [name removed]. This rental division is full unfair practise where the tennants are always treated unfairly.
Ignore all the bad reviews ... they may be fiction written by a competitor !
I have recently sold my home, I interviewed 5 agents in the area and found Bresic Whitney to be true professionals. My agent Allister Scott, was charming without being overbearing and was honest without being rude, and compassionate and personable, completely aware that selling your home can be an emotional thing.
I would question a lot of the negative reviews on this site as they may be fiction written by a competitor :-) ..
When I first started thinking about selling and buying, I spent a few days checking out what was on the market ...... I wanted to compare various suburbs and get a feel of the market. When I started looking, Bresic Whitney were the only agents who offered me their business card, knowing that if I am buyer then there could be a chance that I also have a product to sell. Truly impressive and professional. After I sold and was ready to buy, I was then offered assistance finding a property in the new area I was moving to. They took care of me from end to end. From beginning to end. I would highly recommend Bresic Whitney. Nadine
Every person we interacted with at BresicWhitney was useless in one way or another
To start with, as tenants:
- our first property manager left or quit and we were given no notice or communication
- when asking our property manager anything, we got no response for months because he no longer worked there
- when we finally got onto our new property manager, she misread or ignored most emails and was no help
- when they finally sent a plumber out to fix our bathroom, they didn't bother to tell the plumber why they were coming (I had written a very clear description of the issues and made a genuine effort to fix myself)
Worst agents ever
Hi We moved into an apartment that was dirty beyond belief after being told it was going to be professionally cleaned. You could write your name in the dirt. Spent 3 days cleaning it our self's. Virtually no repairs were every carried out without making it a Health and Safety issue. A month without a dish washer plug sockets not working and the wardrobe never fixed. Thee toilet I had to repair myself. It was always the owners never answer our phone calls. Well they are so stupid the emails they sent to the owners they always sent to us. So I k...now how economical they were with the truth. We then spent time cleaning when we left and it was significantly cleaner than when we moved in. As evidence we were given photographs of hair everywhere. Well its black hair and neither of us has black hair nor long hair. Paid the $150 fee to get our bond back which will take 30 days nor have we received the $500 over-payment in rent. I don't know the fees they scammed off the owners but the fact they never turned up for the condition check of unit. I even had to do the viewing of the unit for then because it was too late for them. Would i recommend them! I hope they believe in Kama - what goes around comes around
Extremely rude and unprofessional
I have never experienced such unprofessional behaviour from any kind of "professional services" firm before. I am in the process of renting a unit and coordinating inspections, applications, strata interviews, and the lease signing has been an absolute nightmare. Stay away.
Would give zero stars if I could
In line with many others on this page, I was run through the same scam. You move into a dirty apartment and have to clean it yourself. Then, when you move out they tell you that you must get it professionally cleaned and whether you do or not, they keep your money and pay the scam forward to the next tenant.
The property manager is the rudest, most arrogant and dismissive human I've ever had to deal with. The way he speaks to clients is shocking -- I cannot believe that man has a job.
Just stay away. Far, far away.
Do not use Bresic Whitney. Unprofessional and inexperienced property managers with severe delusions of grandeur. Wish I had read these reviews sooner . Arrogant “know it all’s” with no idea. I am really trying to think of some positives... But alas, I’m not wasting anymore of my time with these crooks. They’ve taken enough of mine already.
Great on the surface, terrible in reality
When I first moved in, the apartment was incredibly dirty and I had to pay for a professional cleaner to come it. It had apparently been professionally cleaned before but I highly doubt it.
Upon vacating the property I paid for a professional cleaner to come in, leaving the apartment in a much better condition than when I had arrived. Apparently it wasn't clean enough and they gave me less than 7 hours to organise another cleaner that day or I would be charged for it since they had organised for a new tenant to move in the next day (I had st...ill paid rent up until the next week). I was fairly upset by this and got a very aggressive/condescending response from the property manager. If you would like a fair, trustworthy property manager, do not lease with Bresic Whitney.

Bloody Hopeless. Beware fellow Landlords
My partner and I live abroad and we have an $1m apartment Surry Hills. We approached Bresic Whitney to let our apartment. Whilst we would manage the ongoing maintenance.
We have a friend who recommended Bresic Whitney. Unfortunately I would never recommend them to anyone.
Here is a list of the incompetencies we experienced, in which I hope no one would have to go through.
1. The rental bond only contained the name of my partner and myself. It didn't contain any of our contact details, or the tenants details.
2. They lied directly to mys...
Bresic Whitney Darlinghurst - Terrible
- When we first moved in, there were garbage left behind from the previous owner. They told us they got 'professionally cleaned'. It was obviously not....
- Light bulbs were out before we moved in as a renter, so the agent called an electrician and change the whole light fitting. (poor owner probably paid $100, instead of $10 light bulbs)
- Severe leaking through the walls and doors. Multiple phone calls and emails. Til' the day we moved out, it's still not fixed. It's been more than 2 years.
- Arranged inspections and didn't turn up
Devastating Experience; The Truth Changes From Day To Day; Our Retirement Plans Now Out The Window
Sales staff inspected our apartment; had already sold 5 in the building; had achieved the building record with latest sale. Following inspection plus 24 hrs to assess he advised a sale in excess of $2mil was absolutely achievable, perhaps even a new record (i.e. More than $2,150,000); We took advice from 3 parties who all praised him. We were encouraged to spend approx $6k on replacing timber flooring with carpet plus a few minor improvements; advertising package was negotiated to $5.5k; commission negotiated to 2.1%. We're told Auction campaig...n best for numerous reasons and to get onto the market quickly before the Easter 'glut of properties entered the market'. We signed and went ahead. First concern was the 'buyers guide' we were told to set this from $1.8 to attract more parties, then he could talk the price up; Second concern - I corrected the copy for the internet & brochure 4 times (simple spelling & grammar to incorrect & missing features). Third concern - photos etc were just like others in the building, no imagination or much thought. Fourth concern - exaggerated attendance figures at openings; Next step - after two weeks, low attendance and no offers we were told 'lack of market interest at asking price', now needed to drop price guide to $1.65. Reasons: (a) another apartment just sold for 200k under the asking price (previously told this apartment in a different market, will have no affect on our sale) (b) ours is a special apartment, not going to be 3 or 4 buyers 'fighting it out at an auction', just need to find that one particular buyer (c) no private balcony a drawback, no other negative feedback was given (i.e. Nothing we could address or fix). Our apartment was sold last night for $465k less than we were led to expect as a minimum sale value. STUPIDITY, STUPIDLY, STUPIDITY on the tide of his enthusiasm we put a deposit on our 'dream retirement apartment'. We have never taken such a risk in our entire lives, always played it safe, but from all we were told our sale was secure, even easy. We have now gone from mortgage free and about the give retirement notice to being short of funds to the tune of $476,250. I am too depressed to even calculate how many years we now need to continue working.
