DISAPPOINTED in the Sandwichpress

My BGR250 is 14 months old and left hand hinge is loose and allows top to fall to the left. The screw will not hold. Also the non stick surface is very burned along the line of the element and is breaking away in part. I wrote a review here and Breville Customer Service contacted me. It took a while, over a month, but they delivered a replacement one which I hope is better than the first one. I would still like them to produce a stainless or cast cooking surface as I do not like eating Teflon. Show details

Not just Toasties

The adjustable height setting makes this press so versitile, a cripsy toastie, pizza melt or to warm up a scone. I prefer to toast my sourdough bread in the press as it doesn't dry it out compared to a normal toaster. It is quick to heat up and the high temperature ensure the cheese melts. The 4 slicer is the way to go Show details

This is great. Makes a perfect toasted sandwich every time

Love the features which are adjustable height allowing for different thicknesses of sandwiches, also the top plate can be high enough to grill cheese without touching the cheese, you can cook bacon & eggs, steak. It has a grilling top plate. It also has a locking mechanism to keep it closed for upright storage. It is so easy to use Show details

Can this do 4 sandwiches at once?

Yes, assuming that you're talking about normal size square bread slices and not big fancy city loaf slices.

Silly question but will it do basic toast?

Fred Nerk

Not as well as a normal toaster. It will compress the bread if you don't get the height right and it'll put grill lines on one side.
