Fantastic ice cream maker! – I had the Crazy Scoops Ice Cream Maker by Breville for over a year and a half and it performed very well every time, until the day I accidently dropped the bowl and it cracked. It was a sad day for the whole family! The machine was used weekly and the motor was still operating fine when I dropped the bowl. I had paid over 40 dollars for the Crazy Scoops and when I rang Breville to find out if I could get the bowl replaced, I was told the bowl would cost 50 dollars. Ridiculous to pay 50 dollars for the bowl when I had paid 40 dollars for the whole machine.So, I decided to buy the Lumina Ice Cream Maker from Aldi. What a disaster! I paid 29 dollars for it and it probably would have been better to spend 50 dollars on a replacement bowl for the Crazy Scoops by Breville.

I have purchased a third ice cream maker by Cuisinart (which I have reviewed here). I just love it and making ice cream for my family has become a pleasure again. Inexpensive and good performance! It is a pity that Breville seems to have stopped manufacturing it. No cons with performance! I had it for more than a year and it worked very well every time. However the bowl replacement for way too pricy compared to what I paid for the original machine with all the gadgets.

OK – great that it comes with plenty recipie bases but after many attempts i give up as i can not get it to fezze as a ice cream texture the mix stays very runny, ts more novelty than practical and just takes so much room and time in the freezer just to freeze the bowl beforehand its a odd shape and hard to store found it more frustrating than fun with not really a edible result afterwoodes tasts better as a half frozen mixture makes yummy desserts doesnt freeze to the texture its supposed to takes so long for bowl to freeze
