Very Sleek and great value

Originally was aiming for a different brand until i saw this model on the shelf, its nice design forced me to swap out. I have not looked back and works well. Its very simple features and ease of clean makes this product a favourite to display in my contemporary kitchen top. Show details

Great Kettle

This kettle is perfect for my kitchen, I have other Breville branded kitchen items so it suits perfectly. I love the look of the kettle and that it is very straight forward to use. It holds quiet a bit of water so if you need a few cups of coffee I wouldn't fill it up to the top as it may take some time to boil. Show details

Not safe to use

When pouring water can suddenly go different direction than the main stream and potentially burn you. It also smells awful (chemicals). Very disappointed. Add to that the fact that due to the design it's very hard to fully empty the kettle. The older model of Breville I had was a lot better. Show details

Very simple and well presented

Simple stlye, clear view of water is a choice you make when you buy these. Fast boil and I noticed they don't use a screen filter net at the spout, made simpler by perforation holes instead for water straining.
Breville has got a bit stylish over the years, good work. Show details

Excellent clear, reliable and durable kettle!

Our families have owned 3 of these clear kettles for over 5 years (almost 10 years), and we believe they are excellent, reliable and durable. We are about to purchase new kettles and we will be buying this exact kettle because it does the job very well.
PS: I have read other reviews about this kettle leaking, and in my experience this only happens if you overfill the kettle to the top. The water somehow goes down the handle and into the base. I believe it is not a fault of the kettle but the person who over fills the kettle. Show details

Poor quality and ergonomics

I have owned this Breville kettle for about 1 year. It started leaking from the base a few months ago and now sits in a permanent puddle of water. The electrical connection in the base recently shorted out with a bang and tripped the safety switch, so it's been removed from service. Even when it was going properly I found the small on/off rocker switch under the handle annoyingly small and hard to switch on. The lever-type switches are much easier to use. I don't recommend this kettle. It failed on both quality and design.  Show details

Beautiful kettle

Using it for last 3 weeks, this has worked as expected. However, its too early to tell. Will submit another review after using it for a while. Water level is marked clearly. Heats up pretty quickly so no complaint on that.  Show details

Poor quality

Breville has been and still one of my favourite products, but this kettle has been disappointing. Leaks badly at the base and I am having to put a tea towel under it to soak up the water.

Unacceptable

Pretty unbelievable that a premium priced product, in such a well-understood category, performs SO poorly. The first thing we noticed was that the switch to start the kettle was really fussy and difficult to press in. The deal-breaker, though, has been the ever-present pool of water on our kitchen counter under and around the entire base of the unit. Fortunately it's a stone benchtop.
Leaking is just unacceptable. Really can't believe they let this product go to market.
Today we replaced with a Sunbeam unit, and will not be purchasing another Breville product. Show details

Faulty Product - no not buy

Product leaks from day 1! The large number of poor reviews should already persuade you to shop for anything else but this! The nice lady at Customer Service told me 'we sell more non-leaky kettles than leaky ones so...', but given the amount of reviews left with the same issue - for a $140 kettle - I wouldn't bother with taking the risk, or anything else from Breville from now on. Show details

my Breville Crystal clear BKE750 leaks into the base with the electric cord. Am i at risk of electrocution? Is it the jug leaking or condensation in the base as hot air hits cold outer metal? Should i take it back?Only a month old.
