Dueler AT 697, 265/65/R17
These tyres are simply brilliant. I am a 80/20 on road off road guy, I dont do extreme off road travelling but I wanted something that would be capable enough to get me out of trouble in the dirt, in my BT-50. I run 265/65/r17s, and they are sufficient all rounders to say the least and have very good on road manners and are very Quiet. In the past I have used other brands but I have come back to the duelers due to their ruggedness, long wear life and dependability. and I am here to stay with them for good as I know that they will keep me and m...
Read morey loved ones safe on and off the road. They offer great mileage, (reasonable to 75000 K,s if you maintain the rotations and the correct tyre pressure) and I feel safe on road with my family in remote areas and around town. I highly recommend them to anyone who is seeking a quality product at a very reasonable price. ( I cant stress enough to maintain correct pressure and rotate as required for best wear life)Purchased in June 2021 at Bridgestone Select for $285.

Great All Round Tyre
These Bridgestone Dueler A/T 697 tyres are great in any conditions whether driving on the highway or off road. They have a deep tread pattern but are quiet on the bitumen, competitively priced and long wearing.
Purchased in March 2019 at Bridgestone Select for $569.
Dangerous
Recently bought a suzuki 4x4 with a pair of these on the rear with lots of tread left on them(I'd guess maybe 20000km left) never noticed an issue with them until it rained (about a week after i bought the car) and I lost traction at the back on a straight road, assuming I'd hit an oily patch I carried on my journey after reassuring the kids that all was ok, a little further along the journey and the same again, and again drifting round a roundabout at low speed, I cannot believe these are allowed to be classed as road tyres, would never touch this brand again.

Will get another set.
First things first, these are a QUIET tyre on road. Had them put on a Colorado after only getting around 50000kms from some geolanders and when I recently sold the Car the duellers had 24000kms after a year and the way things were going with them I would have been looking towards 80000+ kms with regular rotations and balances, which came free with the tyres when bought from Bridgestone at West Ipswich for $1050 for 5 with an alighnment. 6000kms from Qld to Tas and back throught hot western nsw hwys, wet windy tassie roads and they didn't miss a...
Read more beat, always felt safe. Done a few off road ventures and they bag out well on the loose dirt and seemed to have plenty of traction down at 20 psi. Good in the sand as well. Don't like washing cars at the best of times so I didn't take them into mud. When the tyres wear out on the new ranger I will be heading back to the Duellers without a doubt.Purchased in May 2020 at Bridgestone Select, West Ipswich for $205.

Bridgestone Dueler A/T 697 a solid all round tyre
I have owned two sets of the Bridgestone Dueler A/T 697 285 60 R18 and each time I have managed 60K out of each set. The LT construction makes them very robust for off road, I have thrown all sorts of punishment at these tyres, some war wounds but they continue to hold up and deliver the goods. They need regular rotating to get their full life I do mine every 5K for the first 20,000km then every 10K to 15K there after at oil change. I have owned Cooper and BF Goodrich tyres in the past and whilst they were also great tyres I would say the Bri...
Read moredgestone Dueler A/T 697 is slightly better for the pattern of usage I throw at them 75 City 20 Sand and Mud 5 Rocky terrain. The only thing I notice is when the wear gets to the last 10Km prior to the wear marker being encountered the tyres have hardened and can be a little slippery in the wet, not to be unexpected and to be honest most tyres do the same. Price wise in teh 285 60 R18 these are an expensive tyre at $400 plus per tyre.Purchased in August 2012 for $435.
Excellent tyres
Provides grippy traction that reminds me sticky skateboard tyres. As far as I have experienced they operate smoothly and safe both on dry and wet tarmac conditions yet not used for off-roading. I used to cruise with coopers but these are better

Dangerous in the wet
These tyres are just s..tful in the wet. Did not have them on long before I found I was getting little to no traction turning at traffic lights and just in general. I had to travel about 20km/h around 90 degree turns in the wet and not under power or the back of my ute would start to break traction. Ok in the dry and on the beach. I am only reaching about 50 percent wear and they are coming off. I don't like the wet weather lack of handling on these things.

very dangerous in the wet very disappointing
these tyres are just over 2 years old have done 45000 klm and for the last year have let go whilst turning corners in the wet , I spoke to Bridgestone and they told me there had been no negative reports but I can speak from experience these AT Dueler tyres are just dangerous.
I am now 74 years old and although these tyres are nor worn out as they just passed rego in NSW I am replacing them with Cooper AT3LT

Had these on my prado, done 70000km on them all city driving lol before having to replace them. Will buy them again. Great tyres. Not sure of off-road performance but can imagine they would go ok.

LT construction Bargain price, Puncture free, use them & abuse them
LT construction. Fitted to a Hilux Driven mainly on unsealed roads through out Central & Western Australia, had a buy 3 get 1 free deal, bought 6 with a company discount worked out $200 a tyre. Got around 40,000 kms out of the rears. Never rotated, run at lower pressures on rough roads, tyres close to fully loaded, always abused. Never had a puncture.
Lower Road noise then some other all terrains.
Some decent war wounds but LT hold up.
I think LT construction is what makes it shine.
Owe me nothing fingers crossed another sale comes up.
Purchased in August 2017 at Bridgestone Select for $200.

Best all round AT Tyre, good value for money
Used 697's for over 10 years on a Prado, 100 Series Land Cruiser, SR5 Hilux and an FJ Cruiser.
The wet performance is outstanding, braking and handling, far superior to the OE tyres. On my 100 series I travelled all over northern WA, covering some 68,000 on one set of tyres, rotated every 10,000, including the spare. All in all I have had one puncture, a plasterboard nail that I picked up after a bunch of nails fell off the back of a Ute. I did a lot of off road work with the Prado, rarely having to reduce tyre pressures, unless in sand, as the...

Excellent tyres
Fitted these tyres to my 2014 Nissan Navara D22 three and a half years ago. They have low road noise, excellent on gravel roads, don't seem to pick up rocks. Good in the wet and good in the dry. Have had 2 punctures due to nails, no fault of the tyres. Would highly recommend and buy again. I got 85000km out of them with all sorts of driving conditions and towing. Cost a bit more than the average tyre but you get what you pay for.
Purchased for $250.

Questions & Answers
Looking to put these tyres on my 2007 RAV4 for 50 on/50 off road driving. Has anyone had good/bad experiences with these tyres on a RAV?
How will know that I have bought the right tyres
They will have Bridgestone Dueler A/T written on the side wall of the tyre. I bought them from Bridgestone Select in a buy 3 get the 4th one free deal. Not sure whether other dealers like Bob Jane, Beaurepaires etc would have this tyre or deal.
So many tyre choices out there you just have to find one at your price point and take a bit of a guess. At the end of the day a tyre is a tyre and they all do a similar job. If you never go off road t...
