Great generator, perfect for running a SA home!

I have the same generator & its a turd of a thing. I have a lead running from one outlet to a 15amp inlet on my home power board. When generator is running the engine surges & pops just like its to rich & when I switch it off it gives a pop through the exhaust. I've dismantled the carburetor can't find anything wrong with it & I've tried a new carburetor & still it surges & pops.
I'm just wondering if it was hot wired into the home would it perform better? With using the lead the load is 28% then when you turn a stove hot plate on it trips the generator out.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
