Hello, I am considering building with Brighton Homes in the Studio Range. There are already many inclusions such as solar and air conditioning, but I wanted to know about the limitations on design choices which are included in the base price. Are there price differences in the lighting, bathroom tile and flooring choices for example?

Great options! Definitely don’t worry about that and they will give you in your initial quote everything with electrical! Start the process! It’s perfect :)

Hi Ellen, thank you for your question.
Please speak with your Building & Design Consultant as they will be happy to explain the difference between our Gallery and Studio collection. You will have ample opportunity in your MyChoice Design Studio walk through appointments to see what products are available and what ranges we offer before your contract signing.
Thank you, Brighton Homes

I think this is a comment for Product Review. Most of these reviews are pre construction. That’s hardly comparable to other companies where their reviews are post. Please revise so people can compare apples with apples. The sales stage is the easiest!

Hi Kat, our customers have the opportunity to write a review at each stage of their building journey, whether that’s pre-construction, construction or handover. They can also update their review at any time throughout their journey. Thank you, Brighton Homes

Also, what is the price per kilowatt of the discounted electricity which is advertised when you go with Powershop? and what is the daily supply charge?

Are Brighton Homes able to build on sloping land or just flat blocks?

Hi Heidi, I'm not completely sure on sloping blocks. Ours was a fairly difficult battle axe lot with easements and restrictions all around but they were able to modify our plan to suit (did have to cut a metre off the dining etc). Visit one of the display homes and or give them a call to chat to their consultants to see what they can do.

I am keen to hear too! We have a 2.5 metre fall and really want to build with these guys but they’re so busy we’re still waiting to hear back 6 days later...

Hi Heidi, it would be best to chat with a Building and Design Consultant and arrange an inspection of the block to assist you with the most suitable home design to suit, they will be happy to talk to you about the options available, feel free to call them on 1300 893 788.

This has been a long journey for us, we went to Brighton in May 2019 and our construction is only starting next week. None of this has been Brightons fault at all but they have done everything in their power to help us. The service to this point has been unbelievable so I’m happy to share this.

Peter

That doesnt answer my question!
Have you lived in your home for 2 years to see the effects of the way a home is built these days?

Brighton Homes
Brighton H.Brighton Homes

Hi Peter,

Brighton has only been in operation for two years, therefore a lot of our customers are only in pre-construction or the construction phase. However customers are able to update their product review throughout each stage of their building journey as often as they like. Because this is an independent review site, it is in the customers hands as to when they post their reviews.

We would also like to add that Brighton offer a 24 month warranty, which is double industry standard, therefore our customers are able to report defects up to two years after moving into their home. In addition, we also offer 8 quality inspections throughout the build to ensure that every home is the highest level of quality.

I hear a lot about steel frames and would like to know if they are noisy with expansion and contration in the Queensland weather conditions. If anyone that is actually living in a steel frame home could comment I would be really interested as I cant decide if i should go steel or timber. Thanks

We have a steel frame in our new house. We’ve only been in for 6 days and haven’t heard any creaks. We were also told steel frames creak but we think they were mostly people trying to sell us a timber frame.
Being from down south we knew nothing about termites so that’s why we chose steel.

You know nothing about termites so thats why you chose steel?
A lesson about termites, if theres any wood at all in your home they will find it anyway!

What KW system does Brighton provides for Ducted Aircon for a single story house as its not clearly mentioned in the website and brochure?

3 answers

There is no standard KW for the aircon on single or double as it's governed by the size of the plan. You might have a 180sq compared to 350sq single story house. They run through Actron Air and depending on Promo they will have some details listed in there small print. Our promo stated options for a 3 phase system but when we come to sign it was only single phase for our size of house and we upgraded the system too so we could have spearate rooms. Ours is a 14.6kw if that helps a little.

1 answer
Brighton Homes
Brighton H.Brighton Homes

Hi Bhabha66, thanks for the question! Our warranty timeframes vary depending on which aspect of the build it is in relation to e.g. appliances, structural etc. In regards to the Defect Period for Brighton Homes, it is 12 months and that covers warranty for most of the minor defects / repairs from Practical Completion. If you have further questions around this we suggest you email our Service and Warranty Team who will be more than happy to help at serviceandwarranty@brightonhomes.net.au
