The printer does not work properly. It keeps going into Deep Sleep, and disconnects from the wifi. It does not wake up. Brother support try to tell me it is my internet. All my other devices work well, it is not the wifi. Don't get this printer. It is a hassle and the Brother support do not want to admit it is a known problem.
I have used Brother laser printers in my business for 20 + years and have always loved the fact you do a 5 minute installation and they just work. The model I am reviewing has been the exception, but every now and again you get a faulty produxt, no big deal. From shortly after I bought it, it smudged every page I printed. So, I contacted Brother for help. What then followed was frankly embarrassingfor Brother Australia.
I spent two weeks trying every step they suggested...resetting the drum unit, changing the toner and cleaning the corona wire. I took each step multiple times, but just seemed to be going in circles.
When all of that didn't help, I asked for a refund. It was refused and I was directed to take the machine to a Brother service centre, which turned out to be a tiny office in Glebe. So having lugged the printer there, the guy told me "the printer bloke is away for a couple of weeks, they should have told you to phone"....they didn't.
I gave up at that point and bought a new printer. I hope I never have to deal with Brother Service again.
