Have used Budget Direct for the last few years and is good value for money, easy to organize. Was easy to locate the most affordable option and complete all the relevant information

After shopping around felt that budget direct was the best value and by far the easiest online portal to firstly obtain a policy quote and then firm up the policy.
Value for money
The declining value of my car, which is in very good condition, makes comprehensive insurance unworthy. I have reviewed other policies of yours and wish to purchase them later. I've have just started and have not made a claim yet. It was easy to set up and was not a drawn out event. So far so good.
Quick and Personal Service
I have been with Budget Direct for three years and always find the service quick and personal. Recently my car was rear-ended, and because of its age it is now insured for Compulsory Third Party only. This made no difference to the level and care of the advisor who looked after me. I would, and have, recommended Budget Direct to my friends and family.
Poor service by claims and assessment team
Horrible customer service by the claims and assessment team. It's been around a month since my accident and I have provided everything they need to sort my claim, however still no progress. I've called my allocated senior assesor everyday for the last week and a half, and only manage to get a hold of him when i called using someone else's phone so he doesn't recognise the me as the caller. And even when i do get a hold of him, he gives me empty promises of when he will get back to me on multiple occansions.
I genuninely did like Budget Direct ...

Quick and easy
I wanted to switch insurance providers as I was not happy with my previous. I was able to complete this process really quick and easy through Budget Direct Car Insurance on my phone. Thanks heaps guys!

Sneaky tactics/Stay away and make sure you cancel well in advance
I got a policy with them in 2018 for $235. They had the audacity to auto-renew it without letting me know (First email notifying me went to the spam folder). I tried cancelling it online but I wasn't able to do so. They tried charging me this time $295. Stay away and don't trust them.
$40 cancelation fee on $221 policy!!
I was quite happy with this mob until they could no longer insure me because I needed to use my car for commercial deliveries. So when it came time to cancel I still had $55 of insurance left, only to find they charge a FLAT AU$40 fee. So even if your policy is $200 or $1000, the fee is still the same. They absolutely REFUSED to see my side of it, citing contracts but not using their common sense, that it was, in my case, highway robbery. FEES FOR SERVICES NOT PROVIDED *Thumbs Down*
Once you claim they cancel! Even if you retract your claim!
I ended up calling up budget direct to make a claim due to an at-fault incident, being a P-Plater my excess was $1700 which I ended up paying (I did expect it being a P-Plater), however once the cost of repairs came back (approx $1500) I had my excess repaid and my claim RETRACTED and I dealt with the other party's insurer privately. A few months down the track I get a letter stating that my claims history meant I couldn't have my insurance renewed! What claims?! After calling their customer service line I was bounced around from person to pers...on and finally got to someone in the claims department that told me I would be getting a letter to update my original letter to confirm that I actually retracted my claim, cudos there which is why the customer service gets at least 2 stars but honestly this should have never happened in the first place!
