Colours of Rajasthan - October 2017

This was our first tour with Bunnik Tours. The booking system was very easy & our consultant was always available, helpful and had been to India and could offer real, been there, advice. All arrangements worked perfectly. Our guide, coach driver and assistant, were wonderful - couldn’t do enough to help us. Hotels really good, itinerary excellent.in short, everything worked perfectly. Cannot speak highly enough of this company. Rajasthan is an amazing place and so worth visiting.

Japan Discovery Holiday - 4th to 20th Nov 2017

Bunnik (Japan Discovery) lived up to all expectations - small group size, diverse experiences, great accommodation and modes of transport and best of all, a fantastic tour guide - Akiko. She was a real delight, well prepared and a great source of information. I would recommend Bunnik Tours, I enjoyed a memorable holiday with "new" friends.

Japan Discovery Tour

I have just returned from a fantastic Bunnik Tour in Japan, that I booked through our local travel agent. The tour was well paced and travel was by either bus or train. Our tour guide, Akiko, was the best tour guide I have experienced. She was very knowledgeable and friendly and well organised. We were there in Japan's autumn and the red, orange and yellow leaves were stunning. I don't think the cherry blossom in spring could top the variety of colours in the autumn leaves - but maybe I will have to go back and check! The hotels booked by Bunnik were at main train stations, which made free time travel reasonably easy for those venturous enough to be independent. The only exception to this was the two nights we stayed in Hakone at a traditional Japanese Inn where we were treated to two formal dinners, after being given time to bathe in the hot springs at the end of our days out. We were fortunate to see Mt Fuji in all her glory, as there was no cloud hovering over her, when we visited. Our farewell dinner was a rather loud affair as there were several 'singers' amongst the tour party. Mary D.

Dear Mary, How fortunate that you saw Mt Fuji in such perfect weather conditions, I bet your photos are stunning! We’re so happy to read your comments about your guide Akiko, we also think she’s pretty special. Japan has so much to offer with the changing of the seasons and you can visit there several times and experience it quite differently each time. Autumn colours or spring blossom…it’s very hard to decide between the two. Choosing hotels near to public transport is an element we build into our tours to enable independent exploration during the free time that we build into our tours. We find that people often like to pair up or group together to do this. We’re really happy to know that you made use of this option and got out and about by yourselves. Thanks very much for taking the time to write a review of your Japan Discovery tour we really appreciate it and we look forward to welcoming you back one day soon! A Taste of Sri Lanka. Blown away with this great country.

We ended up going on this trip as a sort of "accident".
Friends had a relative doing volunteer work in Sri Lanka and they found the Bunnik tour and booked. Despite not having Sri Lanka on our radar, we looked at it and is seemed pretty good.

It was!

The tour was well paced, a bit rushed in week 1 perhaps, but don't know how it could have been done differently.
Plenty of +1 nights in locations especially Sigiriya which we used for 'hub and spoke outings'.
The variety of scenery is immense and spectacular and very changeable especially in the highlands.
Really had no idea about the vast history of the country. The visits to the Polonnaruwa National Park and Anuradhapura were highlights.
Elephant and tiger spotting safari parks were a real highlight too.

Accommodation and transport were very good. Bus had heaps of room.

Our guide, Priyr, was a delight. Great love of his land came through and his knowledge and attention to detail was exceptional.

Would I recommend this tour? Absolutely!

July 5th 2018 Update: Moscow to Prague. Do your self a favour - get on board

Starts on Moscow (wonderful clean and exciting city) then to Saint Petersburg ( teriffic city and so easy to navigate), then three wonderful Baltic countries before Belarus and Poland.
Loved every day.
Small groups is a real winner and we had a full size coach so we could stretch out.
Great tour. Highly recommend.

Dear Alistair, Thanks so much for your great review of our Taste of Sri Lanka tour. We were thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the variety of the scenery and learning about the history of the country from Priya. (We agree that he’s pretty special). It might be of interest for you to know that we have included two new tours to Sri Lanka in our new brochure – Northern Sri Lanka (with Priya) and a special culinary departure called Flavours of Sri Lanka which departs in May of next year. Once again thank you for taking the time to post a review, we appreciate it so much and are so pleased that you enjoyed your time in beautiful Sri Lanka. Kindest regards, Julie Moran-Bunnik

Perfect pace for 1st time organised tour travellers

We have just returned from the Bunnik's Tour of Morocco & Southern Spain. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience with the right mix of mostly 2-3 night stays in each hotel with daily trips organised. Plenty of free time to shop & explore & a wonderful group of 20 to travel with. We enjoyed the exotic & scenic Morocco & the picturesque & historic Southern Spain with our wonderful guides Karim & Patrick as well as very knowledgeable local guides. Travel was mostly by bus (room to seat 45) but also included a train journey in Morocco between Casablanca & Marrakech, a fast train journey from Cordoba to Madrid in Spain & the ferry trip across the Straits of Gibraltar. We stayed in Madrid at the end of the tour for a further four days to enjoy the wonderful city's culture & cuisine.

Dear Sunshine girl, Thank you for posting such a lovely review! We're so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your Southern Spain & Morocco tour with Patrick and Karim as your guides. It's a fascinating and vibrant part of the world and great to hear that you took the opportunity to extend your stay in Madrid at the end of the tour to relax a bit before returning home - always a good idea. Hopefully we'll have the opportunity to be of service again in the future. Until then, happy travels! Kind regards, Julie Moran-Bunnik Customer Care Manager

Surpassed our expectations

We booked the Colours of Rajasthan Tour online. We had no problems with any aspect of this tour. This tour ended up being better than expected. In particular the tour guide and driver made the trip exceptional! They made sure everything ran to plan! There were 4 people on the tour including us, which turned out to be a major positive. It was like we had our own private tour! We have made new friends with plans to keep in contact. The highlight of this tour were seeing the outstanding forts, staying overnight in the Manvar Desert Camp and experiencing and learning about India and how people live. The Taj Mahal was special too! Thanks for making our holiday so enjoyable and memorable!

Thanks very much for taking the time to post a review, we loved hearing how much you enjoyed visiting the forts and staying in the desert. We hope you'll consider Bunnik Tours for your future trips as we'd love to welcome you back one day. Best regards, Julie Moran-Bunnik Customer Care Manager

Perfect itinerary, guide & great group

Our 4th Bunnik Tour. As always a great combination of sightseeing with the best guides in the business. Blaz had an incredible knowledge of history and a great sense of humour. The special experiences, really were special.. well done! Small group of 20 on a bus designed for 40-45 people made for very relaxing travel days and always a great view.

Alpine Discovery

Our second tour with Bunnik. I can only rate as excellent from the beginning, booking with Nick L, who was always available to answer any questions we had.
We had 20 on our tour, a great group who all got on very well.
The itinerary was full on but enjoyed every minute of it. The Sun 'Gods' really looked after us. Sun always coming out when we needed it.

Southern Italy, Sicily and Malta.

Our second tour with Bunniks. We went to Japan in2014 and had a wonderful experience with Bunniks. This time we did the Southern Italy, Sicily and Malta tour and loved it. ONe of the best things about it was our wonderful guide Liz, who felt more like an old friend than a guide, her knowledge of the places we visited was very thorough. I actually shed a few tears when we left her in Sicily as we had a new guide in Malta.
We had spent a few days before the tour inRome, which is a good idea as the tour starts pretty much immmediately after arrival.and then spent extra week in Malta after end of tour. This was a great idea as the tour was very jam-packed.. if fact I feel that it would have benefited if a couple of the places were left out. It became a bit "which place are we in" at times. There were 13 of us in the tour and it is wonderful how it all becomes your little family. I cannot emphasise what a wonderful tour guide we had in LIz. She looked after all of us so well and went out of her way to make us happy. Most of the accomodation was good, although the Palermo hotel was pretty ordinary.

Dear Helen, Thank you so much for posting a review about your second tour with Bunnik Tours, this time on our Southern Italy, Sicily & Malta tour with your tour group of 13! It sounds like you made a special connection with Liz which is just beautiful, your memories will be sweeter because of it... We will make a review of the hotel we use in Palermo and take on board your comments about the tour being jam-packed. While we like to include as much as possible in our tours we also know that having a good balance between free time and structure is really important. I commend you for taking the opportunity to extend in Rome and Malta, we feel that this is the ideal way to begin your tour as it gives you time to adjust and then to end with some down time in a place that is now familiar to you is just great. Thanks again for taking the time for sharing your experience of travelling with us and we look forward to welcoming you back! Yours sincerely, Julie Moran-Bunnik Customer Care Manager

Wide reaching, interesting and relaxing vacation.

Very, very fortunate to be two of 20 guests on the initial Northern Italy, Slovenia and Croatian Bunnik Tour in May 2017. Very well organised from our first contact with Bunnik until our return home (Thanks heaps to Sara W). Accommodation was all without complaint in some of the most picturesque areas such as Stresa in N. Italy, to the remote areas of the Dolomites, Lake Bled in Slovenia and Plitivice Lakes in Croatia. Seven night cruise on MS Karizma was very relaxing, swimming in the Adriatic Sea - even in May it was 19 degrees, with a very obliging crew attending to our needs. Our land tour director was amazing and 20 people on a full sized coach meant no jostling for windows, rotation problems, etc! Ample free time available to 'do our own thing' following included guided tours in all visited locations. All tipping included which was a great relief.

We were able to include pre or post tour options, at own expense, but Bunnik well able to cater for any additional requirements or needs on request - thanks again to Sarah W.

China Beyond Expectations

Have just returned from a China in Depth Tour
Quite an amazing experience made so by the exceptional professional guide we were so lucky to have as our national guide.
Theresa Thank you ,you made on trip to China a wonderful one.
The local guides were great also and the whole trip organised by Chris at Bunniks was one to remember.
The whole trip was beyond expectations and thoroughly recommended.
China is a vast and wonderful country.
Can't wait to see more of it.

March 17th 2018 Update: India in Depth

Have just returned from this tour with Bunniks. I must say it didn't measure up to our previous experiences travelling with Bunniks.
This was our 4th.
Even though we enjoyed our tour with lovely fellow travelers there were several quite serious concerns
Firstly there was only one bus during our entire trip that had functioning seat belts, several quite dirty and One had seats that were in the recline position for a 4 1/2 hr journey.
Secondly we were pressured to give extra tips to all our drivers, helpers and local guides which was emparrasing to all as we understood we had tiping included.
Thirdly there was far to much time waisted with long unnecessary lunches which certainly cut into our day and gave us no free time to explore ourselves.
Fourthly we were taken to privately owned tourist shopping factories with pressure to buy and were there in one case at a carpet place for 2 /1/2 hrs.
Lastly several of our hotels were not as clean as we would have expected and were a long way from anywhere, where as some were really good.
India is a vast and very interesting country but going in a group of 19 is not the way to enjoy it and was certainly a very different type of trip than we have enjoyed with our previous Bunnik tours.
I feel Bunniks are being let down by their Indian Agents.

Wonderful experience!

Have just done the Jordan and Egypt in Depth trip, and what can I say but wow! Had never done a package tour before, and had no idea what to expect from the countries either. What a way to travel! Our guide in Jordan, Ahmed, was fantastic, handling the larrikin ways of a bunch of Aussies with ease. And Jordan blew me away, such a fascinating and varied country. Was sad to leave Jordan and Ahmed for Egypt, but little did I know the trip would only get better. In Mohamed's capable and knowledgeable hands, we saw even more incredible sights, with Mohamed sharing his extensive knowledge at every step. Egypt's a beautiful and fascinating country, and I would gladly go back. Thanks to Ahmed and Mohamed for looking after us all so well. If you're interested in this part of the world but worried about perceived danger, please don't be worried. We felt safe at every step of the way. Thanks Bunnik for a superb trip.

Dear Liss, You’ve just made Friday even better! Thank you so much for sharing your experience of Egypt and Jordan with us, your love for both countries is palpable. We’ll make sure that Ahmed and Mohamed receive your comments as I’m sure it’ll make them both extremely happy. You’ve seen some incredible places from Petra to the pyramids and everything in between, there is just so much to see. Thank you once again for taking the time to post a review we all appreciate it very much. Yours sincerely, Julie Moran-Bunnik Customer Care Manager

We booked the trip online and everything that Heather wrote, we would totally agree with, as we were on the same tour! A nice little group and lots of fun, totally educational. Really should have made some effort to read about ancient Egypt. Our guide (Mohamed Shehata Ali) and the Bunniks representatives at the airport were absolutely great at making sure we didn't experience any problems. Would have to say this is one of the best holidays we've had......felt totally safe at all the places we visited and Mohamed has a passion for his country which brings the narratives to life. Hardly any tourists there, which was great for us, but my fellow Australians, you're missing out on the trip of a lifetime! The Outlaw Brothers

Dear Bill, It was wonderful to receive your review about our Egypt in Depth tour and to hear that it was one of the best holidays you’ve had! We were also delighted to read how happy you were with all of the arrangements and of course having Mohamed to share his knowledge of the ancient world with you. There’s so much to see there as you can now appreciate and the history of the ancient civilization is totally fascinating. If you are considering travelling on any of our other tours for your next holiday just let us know as we’d be very happy to assist you both. Thanks again for your great review it's much appreciated. wonderful experience

Booked by phone Egypt in Depth 17 days, small group of 6, comfortable mini bus, excellent Guide, Mohomad Serata?? What he doesn't know about Egyptian history would fit on a post-it note. Courteous, considerate, very well organised, no problems when itinerary required re organising due to circumstances beyond his control. Wonderful Hotels and food experiences along the way. Nile cruise unbelievable, all in all everything I could have wished for on this long awaited trip to Egypt. Always felt very safe, tourists are starting to return so great to travel before it becomes very busy again. Egypt Car Travel staff friendly and well organised. My third Bunk tour.

Magnificent adventure!

My husband and I recently travelled for 7 weeks, mostly to Scandinavia. The itinerary was expertly organised by Sarah W. I kept throwing crazy ideas at her and she kept coming back with great solutions. Our trip began with Bunnik's Norway & Iceland tour. Fabulous!! Martina, our guide, was a gem; friendly, competent, knowledgeable. Every day was a new and different jaw-dropping vista. A highly recommended tour. We then continued to follow the Vikings by spending a week in Greenland and a week on a self-drive tour of the Faroe Islands. Just fabulous. Sarah organised this for us. Then it was on to a few days in Copenhagen, with great accommodation. Followed by a Baltic Cruise. We organised the cruise ourselves but pre and post cruise accommodation and all air travel was organised through Sarah at Bunniks. All of this was organised via email and phone calls. Thank you for a wonderful trip.

Dear Carol, Thank you so much for going to the effort of posting a review about your recent trip to Scandinavia! What a holiday – starting with a tour of Norway and Iceland followed by a week driving through Greenland and then the Faroe Islands and finishing with a Baltic cruise, it sounds magic. I will make sure that Sarah sees your comments about how helpful you found her to be and will also be sure to pass on to Martina how much you enjoyed having her for your tour guide on your Norway & Iceland tour. Scandinavia is proving to be an increasingly popular destination for travellers and clients often comment how different it is to anything else they’ve seen. Thank you again for your great review, you've widened the smiles of everyone in our office today! Yours sincerely, Julie Moran-Bunnik Customer Care Manager

Japan Made Easy

Booked Japan Discovery online after researching other options. Very pleased with our choice. Beginning with our two contacts at Bunnik and ending with our fabulous Japanese guide, Naoko; the holiday was well-organised, informative and friendly. The trip flowed smoothly with our group of sixteen using coaches and trains to visit the cities and cultural sites across the island of Honshu. A very happy experience!

met my expectations and more

I have just returned from Scandinavian Discovery tour and it was amazing and the scenery spectacular. Apart from some minor hiccups at the beginning, all went according to plan. I booked my tour on line and found Sarah most helpful and informative, not to mention very pleasant. Being a part of a small group was a huge bonus. Every one got to know each other with more individual attention from our tour guide.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review and we look forward to assisting you again in the future. Best regards, Julie Moran-Bunnik Customer Care Manager

Extraordinary - Namibia, Botswana & Victoria Falls

My trip to south west Africa was catered front to back from AU and return and was very structured and flowed well. I had thought Victoria Falls would be the standout highlight at the end of the tour and had not expected the magnitude and variety of sights and experiences that were far too varied to detail here - amazing! All accommodation and structured meals were very good to excellent and at times bordering on exquisite. Vehicle (tour bus & local safaris) tours were all very good, clean and safe. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, passionate, accommodating and safe and I never felt my safety compromised at any time. This was an action packed tour that some may find a little demanding but the scope and variety of experiences far enhanced the package. Value for money? I had my money's worth by half way. Bunnik's organisation, information, accessibility and advice was excellent from start to finish and I could not imagine they could have serviced me better. From my perspective, the June start date was best, climate wise, as other times of the year may become too hot. Photo's? I have about 7,000 to get through, but it's not a drag as they all bring back nothing but amazing memories. - Glenn

Questions & Answers

Thinking of Vietnam and Cambodia tour (18-20 days..memory fails at the moment). My wife and I are 63 and 64 respectively with no real health issues and enjoy wialking. Is the Bunnik tour suitable for our age group covering tours, smaller bus size and accommodation?
2 answers
Laurie. Absolutely go. I have already been Vietnam along the Mekong Delta and Cambodia. Had an absolutely wonderful time. Bunnik Tours are fabulous. You are only young just do it. You will enjoy it as much as I did. Catherine. Sri Lanka with Bunnik was on the same level.I’m sure you will enjoy the Bunnik tour. They are a very professional group and the local guide in Sri Lanka was wonderful. Good group size, accommodation was very good, like minded people. You can’t go wrong.

I am a senior lady travelling solo. I am doing 'Greece in Depth' Bunnik and actual tour starts 18 Sept. Day 2. arrive in Thessaloniki. Brochure says 'upon arrival into Thessaloniki airport...you will be met by a local representative holding a sign labelled 'Bunnik Tours'. I have searched on Google for the location to go to find this local representative and see that arrivals are on the ground floor but it is a large airport. I am disembarking off a domestic flight Aegean Airlines, so I would like to know where exactly I should look for the local representative who will be meeting me.

Well, I'm just a fellow traveller who worried about this too, but when I arrived in Barcelona, feeling dreadfully overwhelmed, once I got completely out of all the baggage and immigration crush and out into the public area, I saw tour operators standing there with signs all over the place and I just kept walking along the lines until there she was, Cristina, holding a big red Bunniks sign. So don't worry, you'll find your guide in the public arrival area.Thankyou Cameron for taking time to answer me. I will do what you suggest and hope to see someone with a large Bunnik sign in Thessaloniki airport.Hi Marg - Ken, also from Perth. Like Cameron, I negotiated Barcelona Arrivals very successfully last year, all signs (in English ) logically guided me to Luggage collection which is in close proximity to the 'Meet & Greet' area, where my Tour Director was waiting. Like Cameron, I was a bit stressed, but because of an unwanted issue at Frankfurt Airport ( 4th busiest in Europe & huge!). Thessaloniki will be similar to BCN but much smaller. In 2018, BCN, 7th busiest in Europe, 50172457 passengers; Athens, 27th busiest, 24135736; Thessaloniki, 3rd busiest in Greece, 6403396 - all with terminal sizes relevant to their passenger movements. Thessaloniki might appear large, but relative to Perth. Your Tour Director/Representative will be patient, so take your time, collect your bag. And wear your Bunnik back pack in front so he/she can spot you from a distance. Good luck & enjoy.

I am a solo senior lady about to do the Greece in Depth starting/flying out 17 September 2019 commencing in Thessaloniki 18 Sept. I notice there are 3 full days 'at leisure' being Day 12. Athens, Day 16. Chania. Day 20.Santorini as well as some afternoons and mornings at leisure. My question is, as I am solo, will the Tour Director be able to assist me with advice/guidance as to where to go and what to do to use my time at leisure WELL, and that I am SAFE going around alone. I ask this as I have no idea what I could do in Athens, Chania, Santorini wandering around alone. I look forward to your reply. Margaret B.
