Happy with Bunnings...But
Alway doing odd jobs around the home and for family. Bunnings is my first port of call for items needed. I only wish they would support Australian companies more. It’s hard to find anything not made in China.
Yes let's go to Bunnings yaa. Not..
Special orders where you wait for ages while they "finish" something on the computer. Get upstairs to finish the crap and serve your damn customers.
And be carful not to run some poor elderly person over because of the crap stacked in the main walkways.
Padstow Bunnings - very disappointing experience
Checked online to confirm stock quantity before heading to Padstow Bunnings. Upon arriving there is none on the shelf. I approached a staff member at the counter, and she clearly has no interest in assisting customers whatsoever.
I again visited Padstow Bunnings to duplicate a key. I went home afterwards to find out that the key was duplicated in the reversed direction.
I went back to the store the third time and shared my experience with Lauren, the Complex Manager. She was reluctant to accept any feedback, turned her back to me and walked away.
Very disappointing. Will definitely avoid this store in the future.
Rude staff at Bunnings north Penrith
Staff are very rude. Went to North Penrith today and when you ask a staff where something is, they do not seem like they want to help. The person did not even look my way and blurted out the aisle number. Can't wait for a competitor to show up in Australia so I can spend my money elsewhere
I went to Caloundra Bunnings to buy a few things there was NO customer service, no one to give you advice or location of stock, I found it very frustrating I asked a rep not employed by Bunnings to get advice and finally when I go to checkouts there is one checkout open plus a self serve checkout, that was not a good experience period and Bunnings get you staff levels and customer service right or I will go elsewhere, your prices aren’t that cheap either.
Very disappointed customer at Caloundra Bunnings
CASHING IN ON COVID
I went to Woolworths yesterday without a mask and I was offered one at the door. Some Coles supermarkets are doing the same thing . On entry to Bunnings, if you don’t have a mask, they won’t give you one but you have the option to buy one. They are also selling 4 packs of these surgical masks for $10 where at a hospital or doctors surgery you get them for free. Does Bunnings consider wearing the wearing of masks Public Safety or just another way to make a little money?
Never has any stock!!!
Have been trying to buy https://www.bunnings.com.au/mimosa-3-seat-corsica-modern-timber-lounge_p0103224 for months. Looked around multiple stores, whenever I ask they say this is a stock item so we can't special order, but we don't know when it will come in next, it will just come in eventually! Have asked if they could transfer from a store which has in stock - says no. I notice in a review on this page there is similar experience and you have replied that you can order in - why haven't I been offered that option in store?
chilli plant seedlings
I bought quite a few seedlings marked as Jalepeno chilli plants at Bunnings, only to find that they are not chilli plants but capsicums. Not a good look for Bunnings.
On a downhill spiral
Around 10 years ago and beyond, staff in most hardware stores were easy to find (ie. plentiful), helpful with fantastic customer service skills. Bunnings was one of those stores. I remember even 5 years ago going to Bunnings and thinking what great service the company had embedded in its culture. Unfortunately today Bunnings dominates the market and (possibly due to longer having to try) with that their service is now terrible. Staff are hard to find (ie. not enough rostered on) and they rarely seem to know about their products. It is not the s...taffs' fault - they often seem overworked and it is clear they do not get the proper training they did in the past. To add salt to the wound ;) Bunnings' website often shows products as 'in stock' in a certain store but when you get there they are actually 'out of stock' (but they have enticed you in!)
Unreal service. Happy to price match and the lovely young lady was so professional.
Called up bunnings Pimpama. Got directed to the special orders desk. Had the pleasure of speaking to a young lady by the name of Caytey Robinson. Her attention and level of service were unbelievable. She went above and beyond to track down the product I wanted and to in turn price match it. Simply exemplary service.
Thankyou CAYTEY ROBINSON!!!
Bunnings No KARENS please !!
Bunnings need to stop employing "Karen's" !!
Australia is better than this ! Bunnings should be better than this !
Thanks to the "Karen" at Bunnings Kirrawee (04 Jan 21 - at 12:00 - 12:30 returns desk) who excelled in customer service and more impressively OH&S with regards to Covid-19 awareness. Who insisted on handing me cash for a refund even after i requested a credit to my credit card. This was met with refusal and a go stick it "Karen" loving attitude. The physical money was placed in a bag as i refused to handle it. It was thrown at me...
Either incompetent or lie to bring people into store - ACCC complaint after THREE stores making false claims of stock
On Christmas Eve I wasted 90 minutes and walked two km with a heavy trolley and backpack because I was told by Fairfield Bunnings that Northland Bunnings had EIGHT of a particular mechanical bathroom scale in stock. When I finally got there, they had ZERO. How can their stock numbers be THIS wrong? (See below!)
Before that, I called Fairfield Bunnings because online it claimed they had 'low stock'. They ALSO had NO stock.
THEN I ordered from Hawthorn, ALSO claiming stock. They CANCELLED my order by SMS the next day: no stock AGAIN!
Took a Ryobi lawnmower that had been badly damaged on the underside of its deck. This was due to flimsy plastic on the build.Bunnings blamed me.Now I,m stuck with this crap till I can afford a decent mower fro Mitre 10.
My dog was severely injured at Bunnings warehouse Burleigh Queensland on the escalator. Her paws got stuck and now she has serious injuries including amputation and the store tells me they are not responsible that I have to file a compensation complaint which could take god knows how long. I’m currently not working so it’s very hard to even buy food. If Bunnings warehouse Burleigh Queensland had any morals they would pay my vet bill. I have the bill I have photos and they have the incident On camera.
Terrible customer service
Found a group of staff having a chat asked for some help . the looks i got said it all
I was rude interrupting them
We now shop at Doyles hardware . Great service, better products and more knowledgeable

Male staff are lazy
Lazy male staff not wanting to help or assist. Would never recommend Bunnings all the same due to no competition.
Best quality Aussie made
Purchased the Rhino folding work trestle. This is by far the best trestle I have ever got and now have 6 of them.
Others I have purchased (also at Bunnings) were simply rubbish (manufactured overseas)and did not last long at all. (warping timber, metal components rusted out) The Rhino trestles are higher than all the rest so that I do not have to bend over, making the work at the perfect height. They are very sturdy and the good paint job allows me to store them outside. I have had them for about 1.5 years so feel that I could make an objective assessment.
Highly recommend, but more importantly these are Aussie made
Bunnings gift card caution
I was using a $100 Bunnings gift card to purchase an item under $20. The checkout staff must be new as he had problems calculating the change which included a $50, $20 and $10 Bunnings gift cards. He called another checkout staff who informed him what to do. He was suppose to log the three change cards into the system as being purchased but during the confusion only logged the $50 and $10 card into the system.
Several months later when I purchased and used the $20 Bunnings card, it was denied as it wasn't logged into the system. I went to the ...
I visit local store. Select the outdoor furniture I want. Am told no stock. No stock anywhere. "What about the floor stock?" Can't sell me that. "When will new stock be in?" Don't know. "Why?" That's just how it works. I am happy to go to multiple stores to pick up floor stock, surely they can replace it when new stuff arrives. Again no. Look online, stock advertised, but next it says no stock. Check next store. Painfully slow exercise on website. No stock in Greater Melbourne. So I say: why advertise stuff you can't sell! I realise things are ...tough with pandemic, freight etc but if you don't have it and won't sell floor stock, Give at least some idea when it's available, or have option to pre-order. Will be buying an alternative tomorrow. Bunnings is not bad, but certainly needs a good competitor, Masters screwed it up for all of us. Bunnings is perfect example of lazy monopoly. I try to keep supporting local small business when possible, but too expensive sometimes. Shame, because Bunnings screw their suppliers to the wall according to friends who supply them.
Bunnings covid gastapo
We live 80 klms from town decided to take grandkids in to buy their mum a present at Bunnings. We arrive walk to the door my misses flashes the app at the app scanner we go to walk in this lady says hang on you need to use your phone to I say I haven't got my phone on me , she well sorry you can't come in I don't make the rules blame the government so we walk back out. We later find out I could have signed a piece of paper and been let in but because we don't live in town we had no idea. And she never offered it so 160 klms almost wasted but ...mitre 10 was open and allowed the one phone check in as did all the other stores we went in. I know one customer is not going to make any difference to their business but I will never set foot in their again.
