Bunnings gift card caution
I was using a $100 Bunnings gift card to purchase an item under $20. The checkout staff must be new as he had problems calculating the change which included a $50, $20 and $10 Bunnings gift cards. He called another checkout staff who informed him what to do. He was suppose to log the three change cards into the system as being purchased but during the confusion only logged the $50 and $10 card into the system.
Several months later when I purchased and used the $20 Bunnings card, it was denied as it wasn't logged into the system. I went to the ...

Hi Shannon,
The store I visited where the Bunnings card was not redeemable was the Ashmore store.
I cannot remember which Bunnings store I did my purchase with a $100 Bunnings card as it was some time ago and I did not keep the receipt....

Chinese goods
I buy tons of stuff at Bunnings and certainly with their Mornington store I have no complaints. Love their no fuss return policy, range of goods and all the rest but it would be great if they could just review their buying policy to source a lot more goods from countries other than China. China is giving Australia too much unjustified grief at present and that shouldn't go unnoticed by large companies like Bunnings.

Great range but rude staff
In the past couple of months, I’ve had more free time to focus on some DIY fix-ups around the house, so I’ve been stopping by Bunnings more than usual.
I’m not sure if it’s the pandemic, but almost every time I’ve visited Bunnings lately (both stores nearby my house), I’ve encountered multiple staff who are short, rude or otherwise unhappy to help in any way.
The other day, I tried to get a staff member’s attention just as they had finished up with another customer. I said (politely, mind you), “excuse me”, and their response was an audible “...
Read moreugghh!” as they turned around to face me. In the same visit, a staff member (who had probably just finished their shift) squeezed past me in an aisle and turned around to give me a dirty look - because I was standing too far in the middle of the aisle while other people were around. This kind of behavior would probably be justified if I was wearing a t-shirt with the slogan “I hate Bunnings Staff”, but short of that I don’t understand why they’re hostile? I’m not a difficult customer to deal with - I usually just want to ask “where can I find this?” or “do you stock one of these?”. I’m going to keep shopping at Bunnings, because I like the range of products. But word to the wise: don’t ask staff for help.1 comment

Tried ordering from the Tamworth store and was told they didn’t have time to help a customer.
Have tried to place an order Over the phone from the Bunnings Tamworth Warehouse, was told quite rudely that it wasn’t their job to help customers organise orders because the staff didn’t have time.
Not going to bother shopping where the staff are rude to customers upon making an enquiry.

Disappointing Service
Recently moved to Qld and built a new home. We needed quite a bit of hardware and plants and the closest store was at Morayfield. We have visited the store on more than 40 occasions to buy items and on most occasions the queues were VERY LONG even in the Trade & Gardening outlets. We have gotten to the point of trying stores farther afield and failing this looking at NON Bunnings stores even if a bit more expensive.
Very exasperating experiences.

Disorganized at point of order for drive and collect in most ways but they try
The covid crisis has not make this problem more bearable. The first 2 ordered delivered during covid were no problem. I then ordered 3 items, including a hammer for drive and collect. They were unable to supply the hammer, so I picked up the 2 remaining items. Asked about the hammer..and I was told that it would have been cancelled due to inability of supply. But two days later I got a message from B to pick the hammer up. So I returned, waited an hour in the car queue, but nobody could find it. I returned home disgusted...but patient with the...
Read more manager when I rang her...she already knew all about it from her staff, and organized a better hammer to be deliver free of charge the next day, with a lovely note of apology... totally unexpected...she was very professional. The next order were some vegetable seedlings and seeds...only part (7 out of 10) that they claimed they had in stock were actually not in stock when I arranged the pick-up. The tomatoes and spinach, the main ones I wanted were not on the list. I decided to purchase the latter vegs elsewhere, so I emailed B asked if they were automically deleted, when not supplied. There was no reply so I rang B. I referred to my hammer experience to the young lady at the other end ...but she was not listening properly to my query...although I tried several times...all I wanted to know was whether the tomatoes and spinach were actually cancelled (I was purchasing them elsewhere)...so I wouln't end up with 2 of each...However, I would still use Taylors Lakes Bunnings...I suppose it's so big and cumbersome to run....3 comments

I also made a phone call, when I didn't get an email reply and was assured that they would be deleted.. I then got 2 email message from B apologizing for the delay saying that they would be ordered for me as soon as possible...Clearly your staff in customer service are not reading my messages properly...I understand that the covid crisis has contributed to this problem in communication.. Your staff are definitely under lots of pressure... Sorry thia has happened BarbAll fixed...Bunnings refunded me for the vegetables yesterday...relieved Barb

Confirmation email and 1800 number fail
Funnily enough i have logged on to share for others who may be thinking of testing out the covid waters. And low and behold the most recent complaint is regarding the same store! They need to take a leaf out of the Mernda store's book. PERFECTLY RUN. I purchased one item to pick up from the Keysborough store yesterday online, and for some reason the money is out of my account, yet no email, text, call....no correspondence from Bunnings at all. No invoice, nothing. So i called the store number, which inconveniently directs you to call the 1800 n...
Read moreumber. 15 minutes on hold later, the call dies and i still have no idea what to do seeing as though i cant go to the store! UPDATE: It unfortunately took this review to get the problem fixed. Good news is that their online team worked quickly and efficiently to amend the error and get everything sorted straight away. In doing so, i have changed my opinion to mid-range status. Well done online team!1 comment

Amazing Experience.....and very ordinary in terms of employee support
Andrea WORKED ALONE in Broadmeadows Paint Shop today. Fast, efficient, polite & helpful despite having no support at all. She apologised for taking a toilet break. Bunnings Management should be ashamed.

Worst to best service
Went to buy clothesline, saw a deal in store. Went to this guy names Christopher who didn’t bother to help and said its not in stock. I couldn’t believe him and went to the front counter asked another lady forgot her name but she helped me find the clothesline. Assisted me with it and told me how to set it up.

Review of service
I love shopping at Bunnings Morayfield however in the past twelve months there are less floor staff to help and the hard workers are not supported. Ten or so days out from Christmas on a Saturday morning I left the queue at the paint shop because the two women there were doing the work of ten staff. Staff wandering around and yet these two were working flat out at a very labour intensive job, matching colours, mixing paint, answering queries and I left not because of them. I left because no worker should be so under supported and put in that position. They should have phoned for help. Why didn't they? Is there no back up? Shame on Bunnings for putting their staff in this situation.

LACK OF STAFF
I have noticed lately that there is a lack of staff. Ive had to phone the store twice in the past fortnight to ask for assistance while in the store! What's going on Bunnings? There are queues at the assistance desk with one staff member. I have in the past given Bunnings 5 stars but sadly I have to say not this time. It seems to be all stores so has the company made the decision to cut costs?

Poor customer service
Bunnings Frankston : the size of a small country but hard to find someone to ask help from. And this morning the 2 girls at the garden centre exit were chatting, quite loudly, with each other and took very little notice of customers. The girl taking the money did so without once actually looking at me, they just kept their conversation going the whole time.

Bunnings, where lowest prices are in the past!
I shop at Bunnings all the time and use to love their prices, as most things were cheaper than anywhere else. For several years now tho they are just getting more and more expensive on nearly everything I see. Take for example a 25mm PVC Tee, my local bunnings sells these for $2.60 each, where as i got the same item from a local irrigation shop for $0.85 each. Now you would think with the buying power that bunnings has they would be able to do a more realistic price. This was just an example and the same can be said for so many items. Bunnings ...
Read morehas a fantastic range of items but unfortunately more and more often I have to source elsewhere as they are just becoming too expensive, and this saddens me. Maybe they need to change their slogan to say "Lowest prices were the beginning, but not any more!"Peter Martin

Complaint
Always happy with products and services, but today went to get belts for an airdriven minisander. None available and worker said a special order. There were many units on the shelf but no belts to fit. Not helpful. Ended up spending nearly $200 on a Ryobi battery driven sander (which works fine) However, why sell units for which no sanding belts are available?

Usually very good, however..
I go to Bunnings often and the staff are great. However, Bunnings Preston has let me down twice now and it's been the same person. The fork lift driver in the timber yard. He just takes his time not caring about customers waiting, he prefers to have a chat and ignore customers and it's happened twice to me. Once I waited in my car to pass his fork while he chatted away endlessly. He saw me but just ignored me waiting. Frustrating.

They need to talk to each other
I have always liked Bunning and found staff helpful but not so much at the moment. It takes sometime for them to follow through and consequently cost me the customer time and money.Weekend before last I contacted Morayfield store regarding besserblocks. The ones I wanted they didn't have but the girl I was speaking to assured me would make some enquiries and get back to me later in the day. She did get back to me but 4 days later, and I was told to go to Rothwell for them as they had 102 I only needed 42 . She said she would talk to Rothwell an...
Read mored place my order, I had to promise to collect andpay for them on Saturday. As they would be taken from the highrise for me. Saturday I go to collect my bricks........there are none and Rothwell knows nothing.. So an hour of their time and mine is wasted while they try to work out what happened. So now they are paid for and ordered. I have to collect them next Saturday. While frustrated I was understanding that they knew nothing about it , as they would have looked and been aware the computer was wrong that they did not have them....Imagine my surprise, frustration and anger to recieve a call from Morayfield store that tells me they did indeed speak to someone at Rothwell, they were told they were definetly there and would be taken out of the highrise for me for Saturday pickup. So now I have lost my long weekend to build my wall and have to go back to Rothwell to collect my block next Saturday..... Not happy about this at all, I will have to wait to get my wall built over a few weekends now.jsp

Poor service
Once again I left bunnings Glendale almost in tears, of frustration, at the complete lack of care and service from the staff at the special orders desk. It's happened before with me, the don't know, and dont even care, attitude, and I'm not even rude to them.!! It's such a shame bunnings has no competition, if that were the case I'm sure the staff would be encouraged to smarten up. Usually, I love going there, and as long as I can find what I want myself, I leave as a happy person. Special orders? Forget it. Do as I have done today and go online.
