Value for money !
We made a one way trip from Airlie Beach to Cairns
Camping mostly unpowered sites, that was no problem for the battery.
The van was clean and in good condition.
The terms and conditions were very well explained by the staff.
Returning the van went easy and swift.
For us it was a great way to visit the north-east of Queensland.

Good vehicle and value for money
We (2) hired a Juliette3 for two weeks in July out of Cairns. The van whilst being a little old (hence the lower rental price!) was in excellent condition - clean and with a new looking set of tyres. We were shown around the vehicle on pickup, with the equipment and usage of items explained. The vehicle was equiped with enough bedding, cooking utensils, etc to make it comfortable. We tavelled up through the Atherton Tablelands, on to Cooktown and then back to the Daintree. The van never missed a beat.. very reliable. The staff in Cairns were all very friendly and informative from start to finish. Our bond was returned after two weeks as promised. We would recommend using this rental firm and would not hesitate to use them again.

Disappointed with the conditions of the van
We were very excited about hiring the Campervan and our trip. However, we got disappointed just in the first seconds we saw the van "Juliette" that was waiting for us. It was an old, dirty van with more than 550000km and 10 years old. This fact put me down as we had planned a trip for 50 days and had my doubts that this van was going to be reliable.
After picking up the van, we went home to give a quick wipe and get a nice fresh air. My surprise was when I opened the cupboards under the sofa to find soil and dirt in each compartment. Even beh...
Read moreind the the front seats, we found old receipts and a bonnet from previous travellers. Despite the cleaning rules and conditions, I can tell you that our van did not have a cleaning inspection. Not hygienic!! Three days after starting our trip, my partner was laying on the bed when he realised that the screws that hold the straps of the top bed were missing. At the top bed there are some straps that hold the woods and the bedding for the top bed. The fact that only two screws were holding the whole lot could have caused a serious accident, in the event of a hard break while driving. So, my partner tried to fix it by adding one of the screws from the straps holding under the top bed. What is more, the cupboards under the sofa kept sliding open, while we were driving. In every city where there was a Campeman Depot, we took the van for inspection and despite telling them that the cupboards opened while driving and that some screws at the top bed were missing, they said that it was ok and that’s the best they could fix it. The cupboards kept opening while driving, specially on the curves, and we continued our travels with just 3 out of 5 screws at the top bed. Very unsafe!! During our travels, one of our wheels went flat. The mechanic decided to use the spare wheel, which had ONLY 24 kPa pressure. Unbelievable!!!! We hired the van with full trust that the whole van had been inspected and serviced, but actually Camperman doesn’t care about the safety of people who hire their vans. We were lucky to get the tyre flat in the city, but it could have been in the outback, in the middle of nowhere with a 24kPa tyre pressure on the spare wheel. Very careless!! On the day we returned the van, the lady at the office told us that they don’t service the van. Actually, that evening the van was going straight to Melbourne and none was going to service it after we had done more than 8000km. Very unsafe!! Camperman should make sure that all vans are checked before starting a new journey both mechanically and the interior of the van. People like us hire the vans with full trust that the vehicles are ready to start new journey safely. By the looks of it, Camperman is just using and abusing the vans for the sake of making a huge benefit at the cost of people’s lives and experience. Hold the business, but do a good job! Make sure the vehicles are serviced 100% and the equipment is in good conditions.Matthew TurnerCentral, SA
Poor attention to detail
Overall not too bad but could have been a lot better. Upon arrival at the depot in Adelaide the campervan (Paradise toilet/shower) was ready to go. We were given hardly any guidance on how anything worked including but not limited to emptying the toilet, changing the gas, how to set up table and bed, how to fill the water tank etc. In fact the only thing we were shown was how to check the oil. When we were shown around it the first thing the lady said was 'I'll show you the faults first", and that was 75% of what were shown.
When we booked the...
Read more camper there was an optional extra of a fan heater but when we arrived we were informed they do not have any. It was -3 on the first night and incredibly cold inside the van. The above encounter was made 10x worse by the fact that when we opened our sleeping bags 1 was ripped down the side and the other had a broken zip resulting in us buying new ones. I informed Camperman and to their credit they offered to cover the costs but come on were they really not checked, and no one noticed. Despite being repeatedly told to return it with an emptied toilet the same courtesy was not returned to us. There was an incredibly strong smell of urine despite it never being used at that point by us. We had to buy air freshener just to bare sitting in it. The inside door handle on the sliding door was broken off, meaning my girlfriend could not reach the other handle resulting in me having to open the door every time she had to get out. The back door also did not open making it awkward when trying to store items. These two issues were brought to our attention upon pickup; problems but no solutions. We didn't pay $2000 for a van with known faults we paid for one in good working order.Best for value, reliability
I arrived at the location a hour before pickup time, staff member was eating his breakfast, he got me on the road before my pickup time, at drop off I left some cash in the van and was called immediately.
Haven’t received bond payment but I was told when paid it takes two weeks.
The vehicle was as advertised, older but reliable, enough power to pass, easy to park, perfect sunrises to wake up too and sunsets to wind down.
I rent motor homes every year and three times this year, I have tried ,Let’s go never again, Brits okay, and Apollo okay

Horrible company
I don't know where to start, it is hard to believe such a horrible company exists in Australia in a highly competitive environment. The staff there could be the rudest staff I have dealt with, and we spoke to multiple staff there.
Hidden fees are abundant, we had unexplained charges on our credit card that they are refusing to refund, they cheat you on the amount of days (i.e. pickup Tuesday at 10.00 am and return at 9.00 am the next day is apparently 2 days rather than 1 according to this company).
This company seems to be going out of their way to be rude and deceptive and I strongly recommend using another company. Use Britz, Travellers Autobahn or literally anyone else.

A perfect journey with a perfect partner!
An experience of a lifetime
Hello (coming?) travellers with Camperman Australia. This is my review concerning a 6 months Australia journey with a vehicle (Toyota HiTop/5 pers.) from Camperman Australia. First I wanted to buy a camper but now I am glad that I hired. All risks and damages are covered and to handle by Camperman...and be sure and I promise you they will do! If you are on the Australian roads...asphalt, gravel, sand...and you are travelling 6 months in total 30600 ! kms as we did you can be sure that many things -good and bad- w...

No Stress Travel
We travelled from Townsville to Mt Isa and back in a Camperman van (High Top Juliette - 3 Birth) I'm 195cm so wasn't sure how comfortable it would be. Not a problem. In fact everything was easy. Transport from the airport to the depot was arranged, our plane was delayed and Townsville depot accommodated us. Explanations were straightforward, bedding, utensils, cooking gear, everything we needed for a week's holiday was included. The vehicle was faultless and drove easily. In all a stress free getaway.
Great trip!
Did a basic 3 day trip Brissie to sydney. Customer service at both ends was very good. Vehicle was fine. A minor hitch when fuel dockets weren't sent to head office but was rectified after a week. Will use Camperman again if I need a road trip.
Camperman campers
Was a good strait forward experience hiring and all staff are friendly. The van was good but the drivers area is a bit cosy if your heavy set person but all in it was a really good affordable experiance

Great Budget Campervan
We rented the 5 berth shower campervan, it was very well equipped with everything was wrapped up clean ready for us to use. The van was reliable, comfortable and fun to drive.
The staff were friendly yet professional, knowledgeable and helpful. We drove away happy with our choice and had a fantastic road trip!
Wonderful 10 night Campervan experience from Gold Coast.
We recently had our first ever Campervanning experience and picked up/dropped of from Gold Coast Depot. Daniel was extremely friendly and helpful, ensuring we knew everything we needed to know before we hit the road. The vehicle was upgraded to Shower/Toilet model which was a wonderful surprise and it was fully equipped with everything we needed. We had a seamless experience with Camperman and would certainly recommend without question. Our bond was refunded within days of drop off, as promised by Daniel. Overall, a great experience.

Great first time experience in a 3 berth camper van.
Great experience from start to finish. No admin issues, easy pick up and drop of, no time wasted. Bond back in good time, just had to wait a little for the fuel money.
We had a problem with the cooker not working properly, it wouldn't remain lite during operation. Whilst it was tested at pick up, just the burner turned on, the starter wasn't actually released. Something to check next time. On drop off, it was found the heat sensor was too far away.
We would suggest each van comes with a floor mat for outside the vehicle to reduced mess.

Good if you're not expecting a brand new luxury van
We were 5 people who rented a Camperman Paradise 5 Family without toilet/shower. After reading many bad reviews on productreview we were kind of skeptical and afraid that we had chosen the wrong company for our roadtrip from Sydney to Cairns. However as it turned out everything seemed to be fine except for some minor disturbances.
First of all, the staff at pick-up was very friendly and made sure we understood everything that they explained to us (we were 5 young people whose mother tongue is not english). The van itself was already very worn ...
Read moreand old (400,000+ km) with a few scratches and one of the handles of the inside door was broken but we already expected that we wouldn't get a new one so it didn't matter that much. Our van even got upgraded at pick-up so we had a freezer in our fridge. The car itself ran nicely and we didn't have any problems and it also didn't break down. However there were a few things that could have been better: - First of all, the company doesn't provide gas and the gas bottle is not full when you pick up the car. Although they make sure you know about this, it's still not very nice when you run out of gas on a camping spot and you have to wait until the next day to refill it. I'd also recommend anyone to refill it at a hardware store for around $9 (Camperman offers to do this for $25) - There was a bar that held the cover of the fridge that broke and this resulted in the fridge being really loud at night because (we suppose) the fridge was losing coolness really fast. We had to buy a glue and fix it ourselves. - The fridge also had a trigger for opening which broke (although you could still open the fridge, it's still not very nice to worry about such things when on holidays) - There was a hose for refilling the water tank which wouldn't fit on the water cap so we had to refill the water tank with our canisters.A great roady...
We recently hired a Family 5 High Top Camper and enjoyed a fantastic 16 day roady from Melbourne to Sydney. The van had pretty high mileage but ran like a dream. There was plenty of room for the wife & myself and our two teenage boys. All linen, bedding & cooking utensils were supplied as advertised, and all the staff we met were friendly & helpful. No complaints there. The reason we chose Campervan over other companies was because all the toll road and National Park fees were paid by them. Can't argue with that. This review got a 4 star rating...
Read more only because the van wasn't totally cleaned when we picked it up from Melbourne (which was apologised for at the time) and the ride was uncomfortably hard for the back seat passengers: we managed to alleviate this somewhat by laying a couple of swabs along it. We would definitely use Camperman again.Perfect vehicle for a couple on the road!
This was our first experience with a camper van and the Juliet 3 was perfect for our needs.
We drove from the Gold Coast to just beyond Cairns and back. Being a higher vehicle, than what we were used to, meant it caught the wind somewhat out on the open road, but it handled better at slightly lower speeds.
We were given a comprehensive overview of the van before departing. All the additional items we expected to be included were there. The handling of the booking process, pick-up and return was efficient.
The only drawback we found was the electric plug which fitted into power points at camping grounds but not into domestic power points when we stopped over at a friend's place.
Questions & Answers
Astaasked
How old are your campervans in average and with how many milage (paradise shower/ toilet)?
1 answer
The vehicles are old with very high mileage. According to their advertising the vans are 2006-2012 so don't expect a new and modern van because you won't get one!
