Honeymoon Nightmare - unsafe, unclean, unacceptable.
These are the issues we ran into :
First van we got was a juliette 3... fan belt was on its way out. The man told us he will spray it and we will be fine to drive. We put our foot down and said NO. ( my partner knows his cars and knows it wasn't road worthy ) Our email contracts don’t match the contracts we were given in person at the time of pickup.
THEN the 2nd van was given to us.
The man had told us it was just 'detailed' so my husband had to drive with a wet bum. However the van was dirty and unclean. We spoke up about the cleanline...ss and were told ' we are closing now. You need to come back Monday ' however that would have been day 3 of our holiday and the borders closed to greater Sydney midnight that Sunday, which meant we were unable to do that due to state regulations. Then the van is riddled with mould ( see photos attached), which is a health hazard. The curtains are moldy, sun visors and the roof is all moody, and leaking.
We started our holiday with family in December and had arranged to pick up a camper from Camperman in Sydney on January 3rd ,2020 to have it for 2 months to travel and see other family scattered around Australia.,
At the pickup place in Sydney South our camper was waiting and made arrangements in the office for payments, but when we got the camper we discovered the airconditioning was not working, and at close to 40 degree celsius, (that camper had done 560000km) i refused that camper, so after a bit of arguing, we were allotted an other one ...

Old van, stingy company.
We booked a Paradise 5 with shower and toilet. The description was 2008-2013. We received a 2007 with 440 000kms. Everything was worn out; the foam for mattresses, therefore uncomfortable bed, basin provided had a big split, so was unusable, water pump was hanging off so had to zip tie it back on before leaving for our trip. The steering was sloppy and was scary to drive in any wind. The ladder to the top bed was not provided so we had to go back to collect it. Just glad I noticed it was missing! The fridge was so noisy it kept me up at night. ...Flyscreen missing from one window. Hired chairs for $10 each. Same ones for sale at big W for $6! Poor quality everything. Had to fill up fuel tank and gas bottle before our trip. The company was slack and stingy and did not provide what I paid for. Never again with this company.
Don't use this awful company
We rented Paradise5 on 10/08/20 and we are still travelling this car without any support at all.
There are hips of problems we noted, but they are not listening at all and avoiding their responsibility.
Please don't use this company.

Where do we begin?
The van was old with tape over the engine light so you couldn't see that it was on, this should have been a warning but was the least of the problems.
On departure, about an hour in to our trip, we learnt that the cigarette lighter didn't work therefore we couldn't charge our phones while driving. Essential when using for maps and music. Once we arrived at our first stop, we learnt that the stove didn't work either and we had to spend 2 days going around to try and get it fixed. Even once fixed, we had to hold the button ...for the gas in the entire time or the stove would turn off. Not ideal. The cupboards in the van although locked, would open and food would fly around the van whilst driving. Every drive resulted in having to clean up the back of the van afterwards. We were charged for baby-seats, although we never requested or needed them (2 women travelling alone) We were told that it would be refunded when we dropped off the van, 6 weeks later. A couple of nights in and it rained. This is when we found out that there was a leak in the roof that meant that it dripped on to our bed, making it very hard to sleep comfortably. We constantly tried to reach out to them for assistance but they were extremely unhelpful. We asked them if we could swap the van over for a new one in Sydney multiple times (we were driving from Melbourne - Cairns) but our requests were ignored each and every time. When they did respond, they would ignore each and every request made and would only offer $100 - $200 for the inconvenience. Not acceptable when you have a van leaking when ever it rains.
Avoid, avoid, avoid
Avoid at all costs. Very poor customer service. Definitely avoid if you don't want to get stung with big charges for nothing - recommend you use one of the many other providers available.
We had to cancel our booking because of the fourteen day self-isolation restrictions introduced in Australia due to the COVID-19 outbreak (with less than 12 hours notice given by government). Under this last minute legislation, it would have not only been impractical but entirely illegal for us to make use of our booked campervan when we were due to arrive in...the country 2 days before. Camperman not only refused to return our deposit, but took extra money without authorisation to cover 50% of the outstanding cost. This charge was taken even after providing them with a clear and reasonable explanation of the situation (within 24 hours of the legislation being announced), with 9 days notice of the cancellation and then after they were expressly refused permission to add the extra charges onto our card. In short, Camperman seem happy to force their customers to either break the law, spread a pandemic and risk imprisonment or to cash in on their misfortune by stealing large sums from their accounts for providing nothing whatsoever. Again, just avoid at all costs.
Campervan jade 3 camper review
Terrible company. Paid more money for a good quality experience in a compact RV. Van had only 1 window work which was absurd in queensland. ANT infestation by the water tap. Overall van was a disgrace. Pay for appolo or britz and have peace of mind because this was not good. I mentioned bug issues and they offered no solution or discount because it's not there issue? Criminal! I took pictures and will follow up.
What a load of crap van was old dirty and very poorly maintained and it stunk like crap. We were ripped off by this company, charged way to much for a crap box and then they wouldn't return our deposit saying its company policy to keep deposits.
Watch your step - they are focused on tripping you up.
Camperman On-line system allowed us to book an Auto, whilst their website said wouldn't charge the Credit Card until the vehicle was confirmed - well that was a lot more bull dust than we'll see in our travels. After trying to resolve it with them, they still won't refund the full deposit yet they wanted me to pay another $400 to upgrade. No way Camperman - got an a better unit with Auto, Later model (Not the vintage they use) Fully insured with No excess for less than their manual van, so search until you find another company or contact me for suggestion.

We booked a camper-van from Cairns to Sydney.
Our journey should start at 10 o’clock, but we received a call that the camper is not ready jet and that we should come later.
We already had plans to drive to a tour, but according to the delay we couldn’t make it.
Nobody cares about that!
Worst camper rental on the planet
Van = scrap! 600.000km, everything is broken! The vans belong in the junkyard. we were a group of 3 vans and all 3 were scrap. The highlight was the cockroach nest under the fridge. Customer service absolutely cheeky! keep your hands off the company!

me any my friends were planing on doing a great trip along the east coast. we thought we managed to get a good deal, not cheap but good. when we arrived to pick the van up we were told that we still needed to pay most of the price. even though we had paid said price befor we even flew to australia. it took quiet awile till we could prove that we had paid. after that the guy showed us the van. a little bit older than what we had expected but okay. he showed us how everything worked and we drove of. after some grocerie shopping we found out that ...there is no electricity for the fridge. aparently you have to drive 7 houres first to charge the batterie. all in all we didn't get a good first expression and all of us regret to got the van from there.
I don't know where to start, it is hard to believe such a horrible company exists in Australia in a highly competitive environment. The staff there could be the rudest staff I have dealt with, and we spoke to multiple staff there.
Hidden fees are abundant, we had unexplained charges on our credit card that they are refusing to refund, they cheat you on the amount of days (i.e. pickup Tuesday at 10.00 am and return at 9.00 am the next day is apparently 2 days rather than 1 according to this company).
This company seems to be going out of their way to be rude and deceptive and I strongly recommend using another company. Use Britz, Travellers Autobahn or literally anyone else.

Lots of problems and no solution, unsafe!
We hired through Camperman finder and received an offer from Camperman, up untill the pick up everything was okay. Since the start of our holiday we had lots of very bad issues. No instructions were giving at pick up and soon it showed the van was not checked at all and many things were wrong: oil and water were down, housebattery did not charge, had to be replaced eventually after 5 days, waterpomp barely pumping, leaking in the cabinets (fungus inside). Gashose missing at all, had to purchase a new one. Sleeping bags got holes in them (worn o...ut) Also the fridge is worn out, cracks and stains inside. 1 cabinet and 2 draws opening during driving, we have to block everything to keep stuff inside. No necessary by law safety attachment for boosterseat, even though this was especially mentioned during booking. Door of cascabinet on the outside cannot be locked. Stoves only work sometimes, other times the gas stops by itself. No pole inside for connecting the table, duster was supplied with no handle (broken off). Musquito gaze got holes in them, windows can't be opened during evening/night. I must be forgetting some of it. We hired for two months and after one month now still no solution. Service keeps telling us they are waiting for the management. Terrible experience!
Watch out for cancellation fees
I had a camperman van booked for May 2019 with pickup in Airlie Beach. I booked in Feb & had to cancel today 4th March. Plenty of time to notify you would think. But no, deposits up to $200 are non refundable if cancelled over 30 days from pick up.
The service to this point had been fine.
So can’t comment on the van but word of caution BE AWARE OF CANCELLATION POLICY

Terrible company, cancels bookings last minute with no reason. Holiday ruined.
Avoid at all costs! Big headache, terrible experience. I booked a camper and paid deposit. Booked flights and accommodation around Camperman trip. Cameraman Australia cancelled my booking last minute with no reason why and no replacement vehicle offered. I’m stranded and out of pocket substantially. Terrible company ethics! I would highly suggest if you want a smooth holiday, don't book with Camperman, they don't care less. As for compensation there is none either. But if you were to cancel you have to pay fees, how ironic! Upset and very annoyed, my holiday is ruined!

Very very disappointed we hired a camper with Camperman a Juliette 3 , a few days before our pick up they realised it was a Sunday and wanted to charge us for some extra fees for a Sunday pick up when we have been booking the camper 3 month prior. To avoid that we had to do a self check in by sending all documentation and no seeing anyone the day of pick up, no one to explain all details of our camper.
We were 3 and we were given only 2 pillows, 2 sleeping bags, 2 plates and 2 glasses... we had to wait to be at the next branch to pick up more ...

Do not use this company!
I booked online from the U.K. for a Paradise 5 with toilet/shower and paid in full prior to pick up. When we collected the van in Cairns the water pump didn’t work so we could not use the shower or basin. The shower/toilet screen was also badly damaged and literally unusable. These were all pointed out to the agent doing the handover. He frantically rushed around offering us camping chairs, table, GPS, anything to make us go away and not complain! He asked us to come back to the Cairns office two days later (we collected on a Sunday and Monday...was bank holiday) and the water pump would be fixed but we had limited time and trips booked from Townsville and Airlie Beach so had to leave or we would lose money already paid for booked trips. He said we could call in to any of their depots to have it fixed but when you book day trips that require you to be on board a boat at 7.30am and don’t return until 6pm this is impossible. We decided to stay at campsites with showers and toilets and not waste time trying to sort repairs which should have been done prior to picking up the van! The van was tatty and grubby inside and out and the top bunk totally unusable for sleeping as the space was so tiny. The jigsaw puzzle of planks of wood and thin cushions needed to make the bottom bunk was ridiculous and uncomfortable with gaps between the cushions where they were so old and worn. The fridge was excessively noisy at night and the mesh screens on the windows were inadequate. Two of the windows did not lock at all so we were unable to secure the van while we were away from it. From the first booking enquiry it was stated that the insurance on the van was comprehensive cover. This is NOT the case. We were unfortunate to have a kangaroo run into the front of the van while in Burnett Heads. I reported the accident via email within one hour of the accident. Luckily we were not hurt but the van was damaged significantly on the front nearside and was no longer road legal. I was called the following morning and immediately told that I needed to pay a further $250 on top of the $500 bond I’d paid when I collected the van because this was a ‘single vehicle accident’. I was told they would email a form for me to sign my authorisation of this and they would charge my card. I did not sign or return this form and they have made an unauthorised charge to my credit card which I have raised a dispute about with my bank in the U.K. We were then told to take the van to a nearby garage and the mechanic would make good the damage. We did this but the mechanic said the damage was too great and he couldn’t repair it. He advised us to take it to a body repair garage in the next town which we did and I advised Camperman that we had done this. They were also unable to repair the damage so we made the decision to drive straight to Brisbane to the Camperman depot while we still had daylight. I rang the office to advise them of this and said that we wanted to swap the vehicle for a roadworthy one. They rang me ten minutes later and told me to take it to another garage in Brisbane for them to repair and told me I was liable for the cost of repair as it was a single vehicle accident!
Worst rental cie ever
Have paid for a Family shower/toilets, none available, got a van without shower/toilets (and old with many damages), still waiting for refund of price difference, ongoing procedure.
Should have booked Juicy or similar.

If you want to ruin your holiday this is the hire company for you
I cannot stress enough how unsafe and uncomfortable the vehicle we received was and the lack of any customer service in regards to our issues.
1. Our steering pulled so badly to the left that we have all new arm muscles from fighting the steering wheel for control. When we called and notified them, we were told to email and someone would organise repairs. Email was conveniently not received by company and we never heard back.

How old are your campervans in average and with how many milage (paradise shower/ toilet)?
The vehicles are old with very high mileage. According to their advertising the vans are 2006-2012 so don't expect a new and modern van because you won't get one!
