Trip Cairns to Airlie Beach
All staff in Cairns office extremely friendly with great customer service. Shania was excellent when booking the van. Lilly ran through everything in the van on pick up. We had a hassle free trip there & back. Can recommend Camperman Australia vans great value. Thanks again & drop off was easy also.
Great little break
Easy booking procedures once booked the company were good and efficient in our dealings explaining everything needed along the way, great customer service and in contact to answer any questions.
Easy booking process with friendly staff and low-fuss pick up and drop off process. Better still,
it was a super-organised van with lots of thoughtful extras in the kitchen drawers for first-time van travellers. The Paradise model we rented had heaps of storage space and automatic transmission, and it drove exceptionally well from Cairns to the Gold Coast. The bed was at the back of the van unlike some newer campers, and this made the whole van feel more spacious and comfortable. Happy campers here!
Trouble free, comfy trip!
We arrived in Townsville from Christchurch on the Thursday, pick up was easy. We were there for the Townsville 400. On the Monday we headed off on our trip down to Brisbane, arriving there on the Saturday. A lot of miles covered with no issues at all with our little camper van, we found it comfortable and had everything we needed and would use again without hesitation. Right from the start, Shania of Campervan Australia was very helpful, can't fault service at all. Highly recommend.
Great price and service
We did hire a Juliette 3 van with 3 persons. It was a little small, but it was oke, at the end you only need to sleep in the van.
I see a lot of negative reactions for Camperman. Just keep in mind that they offers low costs vans, so the vans are a bit old (ours had 470.000 km). Don't expect a brand new van, you can't get that for the price you're paying!
We had some problems with the van, but the service to solve the problems was great. I want to thank Lily from Camperman for helping us so good. During the time we went, we started to love our old little van.
A Two month adventure over 18,000K
We had a great two month trip driving from Melbourne across to Albany and Perth and then up the West coast, across the top to Darwin and back down the middle, and along the Murray back to Melboune. Nearly 18,000 kilometres altogether and the van never missed a beat. Picking up the van was easy and the van was clean and tidy & the staff were helpful. We did add our own bedding to make ourselves a bit more comfortable for a long trip, but everything in the van worked well - the fridge allowed us to keep a few days supplies fresh as well as keepi...ng wine and soft drinks cold (which was much appreciated on the hotter days, along with the decent aircon in the cab). The only problem we had was with a tyre, but that was replaced without much fuss (we had taken out the extra cover). The toilet allowed us spend occasional nights in rest areas and the shower (while being very small, with a tendency to leak a little,) did prove useful when we really needed it. Good little campervan - big enough to be fairly comfortable (there were only two of us) while small enough to fit in normal parking spaces. Was easy and comfortable to drive. Wanted to keep on going, rather than hand the van over at the end - was a memorable trip when we saw some amazing things.
Just got back from a 2 week trip, we picked up the new Maxie van which was a great camper, we did the east coast spending time in Byron bay which was epic I can’t recommend enough it is a must do, we travelled down the coast to through nimbin which was an eye opener but a must as well, we also stopped at port Macquarie and went fishing on a charter that produces some nice flathead, we encounter so many nice places and beaches, our little Campervam was perfect and didn’t miss a beat, was very modern and clean, can’t rate Camperman enough, everyt...hing was easy with booking and peace of mind with the 500 excess unlike all. The other companies we researched with much higher excess like $7000 which I think is to much risk or to expensive to reduce
Me and my friends went all the way from Adelaide to eyers rock and then to cairns. Very happy with our car, no problems whatsoever. It was easy to book and yea, overall we were very happy with our trip! It get's so much easier to travel by car, and you get to see so many unexpected things along the way.
Wonderful Trip with my Family
We had an amazing trip!! We went from Cairns all the way to Sydney. My Wife and kids were all very happy. :)) The quality of the car was in perfect condition even though it had clocked a few kilometres! This was my first time with Camperman Australia and we had a great time. Would definitely recommend this company to everyone. The customer service was really good, the ladies at the front desk when we picked up our campervan were very kind and helpful and assisted us to our every need. Not to mention it is very affordable. Thanks Camperman! We had a Great trip!
Definitely would recommend!!
We have booked with camperman 2 times now! They are good pricing and the vans are very nice to drive.easy to deal with and good customers service. We will keep booking with camperman.
Great time travelling the East Coast
Picked up our Van in Brisbane and had an awesome time all the way up to Cairns! Plenty of room for the 3 of us, good to sleep in and was able to keep food cold in the fridge and cook in it too.
Booking a van was so easy, the Townsville Agent was very Friendly and Helpful. We were very happy with the quality and trouble Free condition on pick up and while on Our terrific Camping trip. We will definitely be reacomding a Camperman Holliday to all our Friends. It was Terrific.
We had the most incredible adventure travelling the East Coat of Australia in our Camperman!
The team were super helpful and friendly and our camper van had everything we needed. Great price and amazing way to travel, highly recommend!! (Even for locals like us!) :)
Second time and still good
- The staff were really helpful giving us loads of tips on the campervan and places to see on our trip. The booking was easy, too.
- We hired a Jade 3 from Adelaide to Melbourne to explore the Great Ocean Road. This was their budget option (cheapest deal in Australia that we could find). The model year was on their website (2005 - 2007 model) so we were expecting it to be a little worn, which it was, but everything functioned and it was clean. We had no problems on our trip.
- The beds were comfy and our daughter slept in the upstairs bed.
- The campervan was with stocked everything we would need like towels, pillows, dish washing supplies at no extra charge.
We recommend Camperman Australia.
First time hiring a camper van
Everything from the booking to the van was first class. The staff at Camperman Australia were so friendly and helpful. The whole package made my trip away for Easter a pleasant experience.
Well I was pleasantly surprised at how well thought out these vans are.
I got the van that included a shower and a toilet. I did not use the toilet but I did use the shower. Standing room only but yet enough water pressure and hot water to have a welcomed shower at the end of a day. Then I cooked a meal on the twin gas burner stove and washed up with the built in sink. The cooking utensils where comprehensive as where supplied cutting board and other accessories. Turning the rear sitting area into a comfortable bed was straight forward enough.
I am definitely doing this again.
Had great fun
The van was perfect and also the pillows, sheets and kitchen tools. We enjoyed and drove easily without any issue. Everyone was friendly on both ends and made the experience enjoyable. Thanks to Camperman!
Very good company and vehicle
Booked a campervan relocation in December and we booked it directly because we saw it available on Campermans website. We needed to get down south quickly for Christmas and this was a cheap easy way to do it. Some flights were $500!!! The lady I spoke to on the phone when booking was friendly and went through all the terms with me. $1 a day and we got a refund for gas to.
We got a van with a shower and toilet which wasn't needed but would be handy if we travelled for longer. The van had a comfortable double bed and was automatic transmission so driving was easy :) easier than manual
We will recommend to our friends and family thank you
We have just returned from an amazing campervan holiday up the east coast. It was our first time in a campervan. Everything ran so smoothly. The customer service from the time of making the booking right through to drop off was second to none. The campervan was so well stocked and very clean. We literally only needed clothes and food. We were weighing up booking with 3 different companies but went with camperman because of the low insurance and I am so glad that we did. We are already planning our next campervan holiday and will definitely be using Camperman. Thank you Camperman, it was absolutely brilliant!
See you next year
Great Value for Money
We rented the Juliette hightop and it was spacious. It was a cheap way to travel, especially because we cooked at camp or in the camp kitchens of caravan parks. It was great to meet other travellers and share tips and stories. Camperman’s pricing was all-inclusive. That included the one way fee and the low ($500) excess for insurance. We compared it with others and by the time you add stuff like that on to the daily fee, Camperman was the cheapest, and the hightop was roomier than some of the others on offer for the same price. We were given Big4 camping discounts that some of the other campervan companies charged $300 for. All our road tolls were paid. We loved the vanlife so much we want to do it full time. :-)
The kids loved it, the adults...
Similar to other reviewers, the customer service was lacking - despite notification of our flight arrival time, the pick up location was closed when we arrived, which caused a bit of hassle, and meant we missed two days hire. Upon pickup, we were told that we had to wash (the outside of) the vehicle when we returned it (with the bucket and dishcloth provided)...surely this is not something that is expected of the customer?! The booster seat arrangement provided for my daughter wasn't particularly safe. Also, they told us they had only provided...enough gas for one night. We bought an additional gas bottle, but didn't end up using it, because the gas lasted the whole time. The bedding was not very comfortable and I'm glad we only had young kids sleeping in the roof area - there is no way we could have actually fitted. The van suited our purposes, but we weren't sorry to bid it farewell!
BRISBANE TO MELBOURNE AND BACK AGAIN
We booked a Camperman Paradise hi-top van after looking at their website and speaking with the very pleasant girls that man the phone. There was a slight mix up on pickup with times but it was sorted easily and away we went. We traveled the inland route through Dubbo, and Echuca then into Melbourne, down to Philip Island, along the great ocean road, up through Ballarat then up through Goondawindi and home again. The van itself performed fantastically, even though the k's were up there, it was well maintained and we had no problems at all with i...t. It was easy to drive and really comfy up front, although the teenage kids were in the back and they likened some of the ride to a bull riding event hahahaha! thanks NSW road makers. over all we spent 2 weeks on the road and had an absolute ball. We would definitely recommend Camperman to others and would like to take this opportunity to thank them for helping to make our holiday a memorable one. Thanks heaps Guys.... oh an Gals The Feral Clan
My husband and I rented a Paradise hightop from Camperman to explore the Outback Queenland region for 2 weeks. It had everything we needed (although we did buy some additional stuff at Target like a duvet and egg slice which didn't cost much) and it was spacious inside. ditto:It was reassuring to know all the road tolls were paid for and that we had 24 hr roadside assistance, even though we didn’t need it.
Paradise Hightop - lots of room for 2

All inclusive really is all inclusive
There were four of us and the hightop was roomy enough to fit us comfortably. It was the cheapest way for us to travel and Camperman’s pricing really was all-inclusive. Campervan companies always say the quote is the quote and then you have a one-way fee, or you pay extra to reduce your insurance excess etc. Camperman’s was all inclusive. We had no problems and loved our two weeks of vanlife!
September 20th 2017 Update:
We traveled as a couple in the Juliette Hightop and picked up from Cairns for the iconic drive down to Sydney. The staff ...
Questions & Answers
How old are your campervans in average and with how many milage (paradise shower/ toilet)?
The vehicles are old with very high mileage. According to their advertising the vans are 2006-2012 so don't expect a new and modern van because you won't get one!
