Does the job for what I need and people read the instructions or use the disc if you have a disc drive.
Connects to the internet fine straight away and mobile.

One of the better simple printers I have owned
I am a programmer by trade and have owned and used MANY printers over the last 35+ years. The Canon TS3160 printer is one of the better ones. I have used it for over a year and my wife likes the even-cheaper but similar MG2560 (same ink tanks, same print mechanism, same rear paper feed, no wifi). Setup was easy using a USB-cabel connection on several different computers and versions of Windows. I have successfully connected via wifi to my android phone and printed, but admit that was not clean nor easy. Setup wifi on the printer was not intuiti...ve but the instructions were clear enough. Never have had a problem using the scanner to create PDF files and the image quality is ok. I am not a fan of the bundled image management software so tend to avoid it. I use the IJ Scan utility. The printer does go through ink fairly quickly, and ink can cost more than the printer. The print quality is even fractionally better than an old and still working Canon MP980. Rear paper feed is fine. Never had a jam. Photo printing and quality is OK. It is not a fast printer and it can be noisy but it is faster than other more expensive printers I have owned. If found the print quality much better than the 10x cost 3000-series with large ink tanks. My wife once owned a low-cost HP deskjet and the operation, speed and quality of the Canon is about the same. The only ink printer I have liked more was an old Canon MG5250 that we literally wore out. For a simple low-cost printer to use plugged into a desktop or laptop computer for basic print jobs and scanning, this one is fine.

A Good Product
This printer I had for 10 months then had a biro pen jammed in paper inlet, I removed the biro and it still worked, and air print connect worked dream

Yes it is cheap but a total waste of money. I should have spent a few more dollars to get something decent. I only wanted to print out a few resumes.

Can it connect it! Extremely frustrating
I have worked on computers and website functionality for years so I am not a novice. This pri tee cannot connect easily to wifi which is what everyone needs. Incredibly long tiresome process and no end result. Got it once then could t reconnect. I never leave reviews but felt I had to as this one has driven me round the bend. Never again with a Canon

Excellent Canon product for at home
Don't bother with other negative reviews. This is a great value multi-function printer. I suspect most people didn't bother to read the simple and precise instructions to set-up. It took me 20 mins including reading the set-up. Done over the Internet with Wifi turned on all devices I wanted to hook to the printer, including 2 laptops and 2 smartphone. It connected and worked first go. Honestly couldn't have been easier.
This is my second Canon inkjet ( first one lasted 6 years before the kids jammed a pencil in it) and I have no hesitation in ...recommending their products and this printer is absolute value for money. Best used at home for kids and light to medium work from home printing. Use the QR codes supplied and also do the set-up from the supplied Canon website in the documentation. Most of all take 5 mins and read the instructions.

Awful, hard to connect - don’t waste your money!
This is an awful printer, really struggle to set up and use. Have to re connect and set up every time you want to use it and most the time it doesn’t work! Don’t bother.

terrible printer - cheap cost deceptive
Likewise if I could give this printer a ) rating I would
Unable to set up wireless - eventually set up using usb printer cable
Bought it primarily to use as a scanner
Very, very disappointed that software does enable you to specify a file name and a location where you want to store the file before you scan a picture/document
Was aware that replacement ink cartridges were as expensive as the the printer ($49) but was only wanting to use as a scanner
Should have read reviews before I purchased it
This printer will end up in e-waste and I have written off the cost to experience

Works good but slow and expensive ink
I got this for printing few drawing and project sheets for my daughter. You get 2 cartridges (1 Black and 1 Coloured) they can print up to 150 pages. Print quality is good and the 1st time setup is also very easy. Just switch it on, download software and follow the instructions. Only problem is new cartridges cost very much otherwise it is very good.
It also has other functions- Scan and Copy which also works perfect. Overall it is worth if you do not have heavy printing loads

If I could, I would give this printer 0 stars.
As I said in the title: "If I could, I would give this printer 0 stars". It really is that simple. This is the worst printer that I have ever owned. I don't write product reviews, and that I am writing this speaks volumes about how completely and utterly useless this product is. It's essentially a $49 paperweight. This is coming from someone who has worked in the technology industry for 10+ years...
The product is lightweight and looks nice, but it feels very flimsy and plasticky. It's packaged well. Underneath exterior is where the problems s...tart. I have iOS devices (iPad, iPhone), MacBook, and some Windows PCs too. I bought this because it has AirPrint and can print wirelessly. Supposedly. 1. You can not connect this printer to your WiFi network because it doesn't have any built-in set-up utility. 2. If your WiFi network does not broadcast on the 2.4GHz frequency band, well, you're out of luck then too... 3. You can not set up the printer using the Canon PRINT mobile app because to communicate with the printer you must connect your device to the WiFi hotspot that the printer broadcasts. The app expects the printer to have a SSID that follows a certain naming convention, however, it does not. So the app cannot detect the printer. Cool feature! 4. Press the "i" button on the printer and it will print a network diagnostics/information page (well 2 pages actually), this is the only way to find out what the SSID and password is for the printer's WiFi hotspot and the admin control panel.

This is a very difficult device to connect wirelessly
I have tried print assist. I have tried the method suggested in the manual provided. Neither worked. The procedure is also very complicated compared to my previous printers.
Whoever designed the procedure does not seem to have dealt with ordinary people. I would not buy this printer again.

Bang for buck on simple printing
If you need a simple printer for occasional printing need, look no further. This is the 3rd Canon printer Ive bought for around the same price (the 2 last I sold when moving). The ititial ink seems to last for months... prob 30-50 pages before it started to fade. Highly recommended.

Great value for money
I'm a long time Canon printer user and when my 11 year old workhorse MP495 printer died a few months ago with two brand new cartridges ("ink absorption pads full" error - fatal), I thought I'd easily be able to replace it like-for-like. All I wanted was a reasonably fast small business/home office printer/scanner with wifi capability and combined ink cartridges (I also have a Canon high-end photo printer with separate cartidges). I did a LOT of online research and due to some reviews nearly steered away from Canon as I couldn't seem to find ...anything reliable with good reviews. Then I spotted this one on sale and despite it being way cheaper than the one I was replacing, I took a punt, have not regretted my decision so far. It was easy for me to set up with wifi ( although I've done it several times before; you do need to download the IJ scan utility from Canon and make sure all the drivers are up to date if not using the CD supplied). Cons: You have to duplex feed (double sided) manually, unlike some of the other new model printers. You need a colour + black cartridge and they are reasonably expensive but not too bad if you get the XL versions. The cartridges are not very easy to see when replacing. BUT.. I love the way it automatically switches on when you send a file to print (you have to switch this setting ON) and print quality is very good. All up I'm happy with this, it's great value for the price paid.
Questions & Answers
Canon ts3600 paper jam hard to remove and can damage workings doing so
Usually something fell inside the feeder side and it can't feed. I have found a pencil once and kids beads another time. The fix is to try and shake it out initially and if it does not work get a firm to medium piece of cardboard and let it feed through the printer and the blockage will be pushed out and resolved. Stuff always falls inside the feeder for many household reasons, adults and children :-) Last resort take the top off and watch the cable ribbon to not break it, you should see a larger obstruction/object to remove. They are cheap cost printers yet I hate filling up dumps with fixable electronics...
