The opposite of careful
A 2 bedroom unit on the ground floor, being 1 bedroom empty it was really a one bedroom. The guys showed up 1 hour earlier that it was booked, I was not ready. They barely spoke any English, communication was hard. I told them I wanted things done slowly but carefully but they seem to be in a hurry to finish and do a second job on the same day. Their method was that one stayed in the truck while the other used a small trolley and moved all the furniture and boxes alone and without care, which caused damage to a lot of my items. The one in the t...ruck did not pack things properly so my marble table was damaged too. If you like your furniture do not use this company. I guess they are good if you have cheap furniture and want to pay less but I ended up with nearly every piece of my furniture ruined. I think this company outsources the work to no matter who, so if you are lucky you get better people. Payment was cash and I never got an invoice
Unreliable, neglectful, and unprofessional
We engaged “Careful Movers” to relocate our belongings from a two bedroom apartment in Redfern, Sydney to our three bedroom house in Brisbane. We arranged to have our things picked up on November 15 last year, stored until January (when our tenants lease would expire and we could move into our house). We chose this business due to good online reviews. Unfortunately we had nothing but trouble, the worst of which was that not all of our belongings even turned up, and [name removed] has as yet provided absolutely no explanation for this. When push...ed, he completely clammed up and we haven’t heard from him now for over a month. Our troubles began when [name removed] didn’t turn up at all to collect our things from Redfern, but sent two other men who came a few hours late and visibly hurried. Neither of these men spoke English, which made the whole procedure difficult. They did a decent job under the circumstances, but it was stressful for all of us. Come January we had miscommunication with [name removed] about the delivery date, which was annoying and did put us out a little, but I accepted part blame there. The day of delivery was then a bit painstaking as he came with some clearly inexperienced young men who were quite slow and needed a lot of instructions. But things turned weird when the truck was empty and I noticed things missing, including furniture. When I broached this with [name removed] he admitted he had not brought everything, and claimed he had been planning to bring them the following Monday. This had not been mentioned before that moment. I gave him the benefit of the doubt it was an inconvenience however because nobody was going to be home on that Monday and we had to again rearrange our own plans. My wife arranged to be there on Monday for the rest of the delivery. It was several days before we had an opportunity to actually move into our home and begin taking stock. The condition of some of our belongings was frankly shocking. We have used interstate removalists three times in the last five years, and each time there were a few casualties, but never anything like this. A near new queen size mattresses had a fist sized hole in it, straight though the mattress bag I had carefully wrapped it in prior to moving (photo provided). My washing machine had one of its corner props and part of the base bent as though the whole machine had been dropped on it. It needed repairs before it could be used. (Photo provided) There was also a sizeable dent on the top of my fridge. But as mentioned, the worst was the missing belongings. These included one of a pair of bedside tables! There was no inventory made by the men who collected our belongings, so it’s difficult to be sure how many boxes didn’t make it, but there are at least a couple of boxes missing as I am missing a couple of valuable tool boxes as well as equipment for our pet cat, my wife’s sewing kit, some gardening and laundry stuff - all of which would not have been packed together. We are still noticing things we can’t find. When I advised [name removed] of this and asked him to check the warehouse he was dismissive, saying he would check next time he was there, but that he was quite sure everything had been delivered. Curiously he simultaneously offered to give us back a couple of hundred dollars if we weren’t happy. I was careful with my response I let him know I was quite angry with his service and itemised my complaint, then asked him again to check for my belongings. I pointed out that there were several places he should check as there had been a truck from Redfern to initial storage in Sydney, then a Sydney warehouse, then at least one truck from that storage to Brisbane storage, then the Brisbane warehouse, then at least two trucks from that storage to our house. I told him that the value of goods we had lost were well over a couple of hundred dollars, and that didn’t even include the damages to the items that had arrived, which I listed however the problem is beyond financial. These are our belongings. We entrusted them to this business, and now they’re gone!
These guys are everything but careful! Stay away please!
Mine was a very simple job moving from a small 2 bedroom unit to another 2 bedroom unit. The two places were only 1.3km apart and I didn't have a lot of furniture. I had people from Gumtree who had quoted $150 for the entire job but, I chose to pay double to Careful Movers because I wanted someone professional and wanted my stuff to be safe. But, I got two unprofessional men and damaged goods for paying double. I don't understand how a company which couldn't do a small move properly can get so many positive reviews on ProductReview. They pushed...my furniture on the truck floor without blankets. This has scratched the table and the bed. They hit the bed many times to the side walls while taking it down the stairs. They took the mattress out in the rain even though I had called up Careful Movers two days before the move and told that I wanted the mattresses covered as the forecast said it was going to rain. They even dropped office chair from a height though it did not damage the chair, fortunately. They advertised that they also do rubbish removal with the move but, when they came in they refused to do that. It was a very unpleasant experience with extremely unprofessional people.

Left whitegoods behind, and left carperts terribly dirty at both places
After reading glowing reviews about Careful Movers online, I was really disappointed with the service I received on the day.
- When the truck left my old flat, I realised that the microwave, washing machine and a number of smaller items were left behind.
- When I contacted Careful Movers, the business owner was not very client-oriented and didn't seem interested in finding a solution, telling me to deal with the removalists directly.
- I was initially told I would have to pay more for the removalists to come back to pick up the items, but ...
This company left us on the side of the road with all our belongings. They were given all the details of the difficulty of the job before but when they arrived the people doing the work hadn't been told and they weren't prepared. The management refused to communicate with us and then sent a text message to cancel the job. Absolutely unprofessional. One of the men looked like he had never moved a house before.
They left everything on the side of the road.
Be careful dealing with Careful Movers
These guys left us completely in the lurch two days before our planned uplift. We booked 3-4 weeks in advance and when i rang to confirm two days before the move They said they couldnt find the booking, cant help us, and then hung up. Unbelievable. Absolute amateurs!! Thank goodness Rainbow Removals could help us out at the last minute.
Rude, amateurs, hung up on me.
Rude and unhelpful
I tried to ring Careful Movers to get some information regarding my move and it was like pulling teeth trying to get more than a "yes" or "no" answer. I asked about truck size, etc as well and just got a "we'll do more trips if needed" rather than a serious attempt at explaining the process to me. In fact, he seemed to resent me asking any questions at all and hung up on me! Very rude, unhelpful and arrogant.
never even got to finish a phone call
