I had to cancel my booking because my Mum was sick in hospital. They lady I spoke to had very little compassion for my situation and didnt explain that I could get a refund if I cancelled online before the booking. Absolutely terrible customer service. My mum has passed away and they still won’t refund on compassionate grounds. I’d recommend booking directly with a car company rather than going through these guys.

Booked and paid online in advance, to pick up a car for 2 days, on my arrival to Adelaide airport on the agreed time, I found no company of that name at the airport, and when I called they said wait for the cuttle bus service to bring you to the office near down town, I did as been asked and wasted near an hour until I got there to find new charges and rules that never been communicated clearly when I booked online, they even wanted to charge me $1,000 and to keep it for 10 business days or more after I return the car, and when I refused and sa...id this is never been communicated with me before and I refused to accept it, they refused to refund me what I paid, and left me to sort my self out from where they are located until I got back to Airport to hire another car from a local dealer Still want to deal with them, then don't blame anyone but yourself if anything unexpected happens to you.
Arriving in Brisbane from Adelaide with my family, after having reserved a car, there was none available and no one from Carflexi to help (e-Voucher No: 3804869). The company seems to have no cars of their own and use other rental companies (in my case Bargain Rentals). For one, Carflexi has no offices or reps at Brisbane airport! I called Bargain rentals and they told me that Carflexi should have cancelled because they had no car available. Nobody from Flexi answered my calls. It being school holidays, I ended up paying premium price for a car...with another company at the aiport . Flexi never returned my deposit nor gave an apology. When I contacted them by email they said they were advised that a car was available but client failed to pick it up! You would rather reserve a car with the more reputable and bigger rental companies. Most disappointed.
Deceitful - hidden costs - don't use
Like others commenting, Car Flexi advertises a price for service on the website and then catches you out by claiming that you have to 'untick' a box on the online booking form (i dont recall seeing this) otherwise you end up paying some kind of insurance (almost doubling the cost of the rental). I didn't realise this until after collecting the car. They never provide documentation of total cost and cover up by taking a payment out of your credit card when booking and the stating another amount to be paid on picking up the document. I have also tried getting a refund of the extra cost but to no avail. I wish I had seen the reviews before using them.

Terrible company. Just a few hours out of auckland, in transit, and i'm told the company with whom i have booked isn't open when i get there. Mind you, that company has also had weeks to sort this, but say they cannot get hold of carflexi to sort this - and that carflexi shouldn't have sold me their car. Fat lot of good that is now but it's true carflexi shouldn't be selling cars for midnight pick-ups if the company isn't there.
They took over $300 out of my account without any authorisation. Their website specifically stated they would not deduct any money until a few days before the car pick-up and after confirming the car rental booking.
I am in the process of reporting them to the Australian Federal Police and am cancelling the pending transaction in my account.
Suggest their website needs to be shut down immediately.

Shiftiest car booking place ever!!! Do not use this 3rd party booking service. They are crap from the hidden shiftyness to the customer service that don't help. Do not book thru them as they do not tell you everything & when you find out of the car place that you cant actually hire the car.... They will not refund your $$$.

Unable to get through to the phone number - the time got longer and longer.. no live chat support working - never again been caller number 2,3,4, multiple times and when I get to the front of the queue nothing.. tried emailing ... has done my head in.
Worst service. Quoted one price show up to collect the car and it’s way more then in my quote. Redirected to atlas who were based in a dirty house who also had unusually high bond prices and the car hire for 4 days was going to cost $550! Do not book through this site! Or Atlas!
A company who take your money under false declaration
I booked a car for my travels in Italy through Carflexi and was sent a breakdown of the inclusions and costs. When I returned from my holidays I then found that my bank account had been charged an additional $300 by the car hire company in Italy (Budget). I then contacted Carflexi on a number of occasions to sort out this anomaly. At first I was informed by a member of Carflexi that they would sort out the issue but they never did even though I contacted them on a number of occasions over a three month period. I am now having to sort this issue...through my bank as it was paid on my Mastercard and hopefully this will get resolved soon. Warning !!! Don't book any car hire with this company as there promises and after sales treatment was a disgrace.

Poor customer service
I just called the customer service, waited in the queue, then when they answered they said they couldn't hear me and hung up straight away. First I thought it was my reception, so I called back, again another 5mins in the waiting queue and the same again, pretending they could not hear me even though the line was perfectly fine. I tried 4 times with the same result. The 5th time when I answered I mentioned straight away that this phone call is being recorded and told them I knew they could hear me. The lady started talking in Spanish pretending...she doesn’t understand even though it’s one phone number for all languages and she picked up the phone in English. She put me on hold and tried to transfer somewhere and then hung up again. Absolutely terrible service

Waste of time and money
Booked a car and paid 60aud deposit, went to pickup and car rental wasn't even open. Rang interstate was put on hold forever, still waiting for my 60$ back.
I rented a car through this company because I was in a hurry. I realized that was a mistake as soon as I showed up at the rental place. We could have gotten the car cheaper had we booked directly. I thought we got insurance but it didn’t cover any of the damages! It was a waste of money. Do not use them!

I Rented a car for 1 week and was told that the office was closed so there was no way of collecting the car. I arrived at 4.30pm on a Saturday. I was told there was nothing they could do as the office is not manned.
I had already paid a deposit and could not get a refund. We believe they already rented our car to another person. We ended up catching a train.
Because we asked for the car from 11am that day we we're advised that we should have picked up the car at 11 contrary to our flight being delayed. The flight details were provided.
This company should be investigated as a scam. They charged me for a product i did not receive and no refund was possible. I advised them that i would report them.

This company is a sham. You will still have to pay for the car and cover the $AUD4480 excess if anything happens. The website makes believe you have hired a car for such and such an amount of money but has nothing to do with the real fee. God forbid if you wanted to make a claim. I wish I had read these reviews. Do not use this company.
At Catania airport I had to pay 40 euros more, because my plane was late. I was not informed about this risk. Avoid this company!

I used this company to hire a car in July on Skopelos,Greece.
I paid one day's deposit and was advised car was ready to pick up on designated day.The car hire company is Discovery Rent a car.
At this car hire company I was abused and assaulted when I questioned the extra charges I had to pay.I was then refused a car and lost my deposit.The said deposit apparently was NOT paid to them.

I notice most, if not all, the one star reviews bang on about the tricky insurance fee. I too was surprised when I thought the first time i booked the total was a lot more than I expected.
When I went back through it the insurance charge is included automatically so you have to actively take it off.
I called their support number, got a guy in Greece (of all places) who was very helpful and told me how to cancel that booking (full refund received) and re-book minus the Insurance hit (which is a lot).
It is tricky I guess, but they fixed it for me without a problem and I have used them about a dozen times and the cars are fine and very cheap.
So, remember to untick insurance and you'll be happy
Never use a company like this to book a car
NEVER use this company unless you just use them as a booking agency only and I would definitely NOT recommend that either as they are off shore so there are extra charges ....PLUS make sure you do not do any of their insurance which is an unbelievable scam and where they make all their money ....done by default if you do not carefully go through a website which is designed to confuse you ....you should never insure by default ie not ticking a box and you should have full itemisation of what you are getting....what I paid for and what was cover...ed was shocking with no insurance policy to read.....if you are not careful you will pay more for insurance than car hire.!… companies like this should be under consumer affairs investigation. Incidentally the car hire company which you end up with have no correspondence communication with them at all other than they get a booking.

Car was unavailable at my location when I arrived - the car rental service was not even open, despite me booking for that arrival time.
When I called the car rental location, I was told that the order had been cancelled, however I had not been informed about the cancellation.
I was then not refunded the deposit I have made - this is theft as indicated by other reviews.

Do NOT rent a car from CarFlexi.com/Atlas Car & Truck Rental ! I did rent a car in Perth from their website and paid EXTRA for full comprehensive insurance. While driving in Perth I accidentally scraped the car while parking. A RAC Insurance assessor assured me the repairs should cost no more than $600 and take no more than 3 days. When filing my claim report with Atlas Car Rental, not only did they not immediately cover my claim but they charged my credit card an additional $40041.13 ($4000 + bank fees !). Once the repairs are completed (so f...ar 3 weeks and no contact) Atlas will send me a bill which I am told to MAIL to Greece for claims repayment. After 100+ car rentals I have NEVER paid so much and have been serviced so poorly. It certainly appears at this stage to be a scam. Please be warned! Now four weeks after I returned the car I have received the following quote (including the poor grammar) “The minimum period of excess is three months because we need to recover our vehicle and finalize the loss of use and other thing." This situation is truly resembling a fraud. Please be warned ! I will continue to update. Now six weeks later and Atlas has fixed the car and deducted $1,257.08 as charges for repairs, which I must MAIL to Greece for potential repayment and Atlas has promised to repay me the balance of my $4,0040.13. Now eight + weeks later I still have NOT received the balance of $2742.92 as promised from Atlas, much less any joy from Greece. Ten weeks after the claim I have received $2742.92 from Atlas, their share of my money (minus bank $40.13 in charges). Atlas, to their credit, forwarded my claim to their partner CarFlexi.com in Greece from whom I have heard nothing !

When we arrived at NICE airport, we were told by the Sixt operator that it was NOT included.
Sixt operator at Nice airport informed us that NO insurance was included including theft etc
When I showed him the email that said it WAS included, he said "that's the problem you have when you book online and don't use our official website"
