The design of the home is perfect for me. I found the communication at the selling and colour stage much more customer friendly than the build stage and felt there was no personal touch at the end stage of the build.
The end quality was good though it was disappointing to have handover occur before the water was connected to the home. The outside brick work and fire seals were also disappointing.
Colour appointment with [Name Removed]
We had good experience with our colour consultant with good communication and very helpful while selection, All the concerns I asked, colour consultant answered after discussing with fellow consultants and cleared our concerns , however we were slightly disappointed with time being spent on the discussion, I felt we could have utilised that time on colour selection , except that overall we had Good and friendly experience with colour consultant.
Great sales team who are very responsive, but CLEs are very unapproachable
We are yet to start the build, so far we only went through the sales process where the salesperson [Name Removed] was good (expected if you are selling half a million home) but that's where it ended. My CLE is not available by phone or email which is frustrating. The color selection at spectra felt it was rushed
Now that we have finished building with Carlisle Homes I can now honestly write this review based on my entire experience. Not straight after the color selection when we were encouraged to complete a positive review with a $100 eftpos card as a reward. Color selection was perfect. From the start through to the end product Im not satisfied with a lot of things. From reverse building where plasterboards were hung before the actual building is water tight to having to put up with squeaky floor and stairs. The overall workmanship is below avera...ge. Nails are going everywhere but not where it meant to be. Even paces where it meant to be nailed were entirely neglected. Instead of using two nails they just used one nail just to save cost. If I were to build again I wont use Carlisle Homes and neither recommend it to anyone else.

First Home Building Experience with Carlisle Homes
We started our process with Carlisle after visiting a few other reputed builders. The reason for the move was the floor plan & facades and the reasonable base price. However, I wish I would have selected the other builders. The start of the journey was perfect. However, being the first homeowner, we came to reality after paying the initial deposit. The level of transparency and commitment during the sales stage was not kept. Due to mismanagement & miscommunication between our previous CLE and Sales Consultant, we are now going through financial...hardship (delayed the building process, unnecessarily paying the EMI for titled land). When I complained about the delaying the process, there was no response from CLE. Instead of accepting the mistake and rectifying it, they started playing the blame game with each other (and I suffered for someone's mistake). I thought I would give a 2 stars rating. However, the way my current CLE is responding, I increased my rating to 3 stars. I hope I can update my review after construction. Rating Breakup (explanation is given below): 1) Sales stage: 0 stars 2) Colours appointment (online spectra via MS Teams & mobile call): 4 stars Our colour consultant did a great job to help us find the right combination. Also, there was no push for an upgrade for any items (which I was suspecting) 3) Tender Appointment (mobile call): 3 stars The appointment went well with the consultant. However, we were surprised due to the cost associated with many unknown items. Most of the items were related to site cost (which happened because of our sales consultant mis-commitment).
My partner and I are building out first home with Carlisle Homes - Easy living. Personally I would never do it again. I wish we were told before paying the deposit that we had to pick from colour schemes and that there is not much choice, we have basically upgraded everything and probably could of built with T-Range in the end. Also the whole process is so rushed it is ridiculous. Especially during Covid-19 you would think there would be some changes considering we couldn’t go out and properly look at samples. Also our land doesn’t title for an...other 6-7 months (again I wish we were told prior to paying our deposit that the process is so quick and rushed). On top of that the colour selection email that is sent is absolute rubbish, the colours look nothing like they do in person, you cannot spot any differences between the stone because the pictures are not clear at all and not all options are sent to you. Our “colour appointment” was rushed, we also dealt with someone who made several mistakes and did not know the colour boards correctly. We also left our appointment and had to return because we realised a lot of things were missed. Our draft contract then came back with a list of mistakes. As first home buyers the process so far has been overwhelming as I would imagine. But we haven’t been able to feel confident or overly excited. Our “sales support/colour appointment person” has been so incompetent and rude it has made us want to pull the plug on the whole process several times. Our sales consultant to begin with that helped us with the quote was amazing! I just feel like we weren’t told a lot of information and were sucked in very easy as this is our first time ever building a home. “Easy living” hasn’t felt so “easy” as of yet.
First home buyer: Macquarie 22
My partner and I are first home buyers so the whole process was new and exciting for us. We are building the Macquarie 22.
The sales process was extremely good. Our Sales consultant was eager to help and walked us through each step of the process. We even asked some dumb questions and he was extremely accomodating and answered them all. Sales I would give 10/10.
Sales was a pleasant experience but the Sales support left something to be desired for. Admittedly, our Sales support was friendly and confessed we were her favourite customers (rem...ember this for later). We were rushed through our colour appointment jumping from room to room in no coherent manner. There was a number of mistakes made where the Sales support assumed we wanted something but didn’t ask us. That was frustrating. After 3 electrical plans and quote revisions we finally had a contract we were happy to sign. Then during our signing we spoke at length about our experience. She was apologetic and stated she was new to the roles. If she told us that she was new we would of been a lot more forgiving and patient. We can confidently say we weren’t her favourite by the end of it. Overall, we have designed and set up a house we love and are excited to begin building. Even with our difficulties Carlise did eventually resolve our issues and turned it into a positive one Tip: if you’re new just tell set that expectation at the beginning of the the consult so we aren’t to hard.
I have been requested by Carlisle Homes to submit a review. I have just recently signed my pre-contract with Carlisle Easy living. Honestly I am only doing this review because they're offering a $100 voucher upon completion of this review. Overall the experience so far with the sales team have been neutral, they are responsive to your emails and calls. With the COVID-19 stage restrictions and government grants on offer, make sure they understand your situation and needs, you will be pressured to sign things quickly and they'll whisper sweet promises in your ear to get you over the line.
Pre construction - Check your drawings 100 times before signing!!!
Things were going well until contract signing. Although a detailed list of mistakes in the drawings was prepared, they have been ignored in the 1st, 2nd & 3rd developer approvals. I had to give-up last time as I lost more than 3 months. When I requested for the last DA, a document with an olds date stamp was provided. No proper DA docs has been provided yet. (If the first DA application has been submitted after correcting the mistakes which I have pointed out, I would not have been caught in the additional 30 day delay)
Also, I took time to giv...
Experience with Carlisle
Good experience till Now. [name removed] from Sales is very helpful. Good standard inclusion with good building plans. Spectra has many options. Only thing is concerned, you can not change much in structures, if you want to change according to your need. If you change, then price is too high. Then you forget about to change anything.

Went well till Handover
Everything went well in color selectin, construction stage and handover stage. Small hiccups but no complaint I was very happy with quality and timeframe that's been done. However I was bit disappointed with after sales service. No response from supervisor for 10 days and no reply back to email again
Customer Service & Colour Selection Appointment!
My impression with Carlisle is a mixed feelings when we look for display homes someone suggested us to go through Carlisle because, apparently they’ve got too many standard inclusions. So we went to Harpley State and we love the house design and decided to get a quote and within a week we come back to put deposit on and go ahead. At first the sales consultant at Harpley is very accommodating but after a few emails for additional requests didn’t get a reply anymore so we feel like after they got the deposit you didn’t get noticed at all anymore....Our CLE is helpful and prompt when answering our questions and we are happy with that. She keep us updated of what is happening. We are looking forward for the colour selection but because of this Covid it’s been cancelled and held virtually and I wasn’t that excited anymore due to reality is better than just looking in the camera for the selections you made for your future home. Furthermore, our design consultant is lovely and helpful answering and suggesting what she think about choosing the right colour that will goes with our selections but, I feel like one day is not enough for the entire selection process especially if you’re building a two storey house. In my own opinion there is some gaps in the colour selection and your appointment is been rushed that everything is not been covered.
Our Spectra appointment
We were very excited to choose everything for our new home at our Spectra Appointment! I would perhaps suggest breaking up the appointment into two separate appointments - Electrical and Colours, as it went from 8:30am to 4:30pm with a 30 minute lunch break. We have built many times so we were very prepared for the appointment, but for first timers, it will be a stretch. I would also suggest that your price points be calculated while looking at the product during the appointment. Even though you can make changes later, you don’t have an image of what you may want to change it to. Aside from that, it was fun for us to finally visualise what we wanted in the house. Very exciting day however and [name removed] was really lovely to work with.
Very poor finishing
I want to share my Experience with you all. We build with Carlisle home and we will never think again to building with them again. We paid full payment on inspection day and Carlisle home supervisor advised us we will fix all the things which we discussed on inspection day within a week time if we can pay them in full today. Me and my wife thought they will fixed everything as per Promise.
Now over two months I am chasing Carlisle home from more than two months Sending them emails and messages but no response.
Paint work still not done yet.
Kitchen sink tab water going out because tab not installed on right place
Colour selection were great. Our consultants were very friendly and they were helpful through out the day.Preference and selections widely vary between individual. The consultants understood our requirements and guided with suggestions such as upgrades and selections during the entire process.
we enjoined the first appointment and looking forward to forthcoming appoinments.
Questions & Answers
I am building a house with carlisle in Affinity range. Got the brivis ducted heating inclusive in my plan. Will the thermostat controller for heating be changed to network controller like "Nest". If so what should be the procedure pls. Thanks.
They did tell us there was an option to upgrade the controller with wifi kit ( for my memory around $700), which means you could use app to control the heating and cooling remotely.
Congratulations Josan. and thank you for choosing Carlisle to build your brand new home.
What a great question but a little tough for us to answer here. It all depends on what house you have chosen and promotion you have signed up for.
We would like to advise you further so if you could contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org we can assist you further.
I would like to get more details about the current "5% Builder Deposit" promotion. On Carlisle's website and initial quote it doesn't mention the complete promotion details. On the top of it when I asked the sales consultant multiple times I was advised of something completely different every single time.
1. Let's say if the quote total or final contract amount is 250K and I make $2k initial deposit. The 5% of 250k is $12500. Now $12500-$2000(initial deposit)=$10500.
$250K-$10500=$239500 Does it mean that I've to pay $239500 for the house?
2. The amount which is required at base stage, Is it the remaining 5% of 250K or 239500?
I'm waiting for your response.
Thank you for your question.
As per our Easy Living contracts, a variation will be raised at contract signing as a credit for the balance of the 5% deposit based off your base house price.
If you could please contact us directly at email@example.com so we can look further into your particular job that would be appreciated.
Can you answer it here, so others know too?????
I am considering the Sheraton Deluxe design, one thing i noticed is all WIR are through Ensuite bathroom. Anyone here built this design? Did it cause any inconvenience? Would you recommend to add additional door to the WIR and additional exhaust? Is there any option to change floorplan to be able to access WIRs for the bedrooms directly/ seperate instead of going through the bathroom?
I'm building the Vaucluse and I added sliding doors to the WIR's so it can be added if you want. You just have to pay extra
Thank you Raymond. The vaucluse deluxe has separate entry for bathroom and WIR for the ensuits. However Sheraton deluxe has the WIR designed such that it can be only accessible through the bathroom. I am interested to know if that causes any inconvenience e.g. does clothes or belongings become mouldy due to the steam from bathroom after shower or any other problem from the usage of the bathroom and toilet. Has anyone faced problem who built this design and what is recommended? Would there be any option by Carlisle Team to change the floorplan so access to WIR can be separate? Thanks again.
A lot of their designs have the main bedroom next to ensuite as well but I'm guessing it shouldn't be an issue as long as there is good ventilation in bathroom (and there is exhaust above shower and steam should go straight to ceiling). But for peace of mind though best to ask them that question.
