Sold through Car Sales.com.au
Advertising was reasonable cost and sold through Car Sales. Car Sales is definately the household name. I would use again.
Good selling experience overall
Good selling experience overall. Fairly easy to write the add did find it a little difficult where to many questilns being asked.
Just sold my second car in a month using Carsales.com.au. This time the ad was free (being at a low price point) As such it attracted a couple of time wasters but after three weeks and four callers it sold. Have tried other agencies but this one is the best. As a car guy I browse a lot and Carsales is my first port of call to find interesting cars and get a feel for prices. The resources offered are also really useful.
Very happy with site. Lots of calls, messages and enquiries (some genuine buyers) and sold for cash within 4 hours
Happily use Carsales again, was an easy sale, just a bit challenging for a female who doesn't know anything about cars to answer all the questions.
Good selling median, but the process could be improved
Car sold reasonably well and had no problem with the overall experience
Some of the advertising options are a bit sketchy
Not real keen on the constant upselling
Tends to be a bit tricky to NOT say yes by mistake
Sold my vehicle quickly.
Carsales gets a lot of coverage so many people see my add. I sold my car in 3 weeks. Thanks carsales.
Carsales is very easy to use, fast response, great community. There are so many handy tools and guides that helps both buyer and seller to close the deal.
Easy to use.
Very easy platform to use. Ad creation was so quick and helpful for a first time seller. Great ways to communicate with buyers.
Makes selling a car simple
easy service to use and I did get a few potential buyers after a week or so. It cost me $99 to advertise, but it sold through another medium which cost me nothing.
Easy quick sale
I posted my ad on Monday and sold my car on Weds with no problems. Quick easy sale. Reliable site.
Great Site Easy to use
I found it very easy and simple to use the site.
It gives a very good exposure to so many people looking for cars.
And finding all the details like vin chasis number, rego number, photographs etc gives very transparent transactions. It would be good idea if it could also give the rating of the dealers on the face so that purchaser could make out who are the genuine and honest dealers
Easy car sales
Website was easy to navigate. Spoke to 1/2 dozen legitimate buyers. No time wasters. Sold within a week of advertising.

Still the best place to list a car for sale
It's the primary place to list a car for sale and guarantees broad exposure which is ultimately what gets a car sold. Compared to other online classified methods, it ensures a minimum standard of car specific info is provided (year, model year, build/compliance dates, KMs, options etc) which makes comparisons easier. There is also seller tools available to assist with setting market competitive pricing.
Two main negatives were:
* CarFacts report drops off after a certain amount of time - I don't think this was clear when I initially listed
* Prank calls and SMS spam from my mobile number being visible (I obviously could have paid extra for this to not be shown however)
Convenient and slick
The platform enable me to present the vehicle the way I visualized. I received several direct phone calls and texts shortly after posting the advert and the following days, as well as the platform emails. Sold within 24 hrs.
Sold for my price.
My car sold for what I wanted. It took a while due to pricing, but after price change I got my price within a week. Advice to any seller is to set your price by the market and not by what caryards are selling them for.
Sold within 24 hours great result. Would highly recommend this site to other sellers who want a good very quickly.
Sold in 6 days!
I advertised with Carsales.com.au for the first time and sold my car within 6 days! I really appreciated the helpful hints and advice given on their website for sellers/buyers safety checks and the assistance of their friendly staff when needed. I would recommend advertising with Carsales.com.au to get your desired results in a short time!
Good web service.
Creates a market place where a novice can compare and learn before buying or selling. The site has good advice about rip offs and has huge car data base of info. Thanks, really good value for all. Ron
Quick and easy
It was easy to set up the advertisement with the vehicle specs and the car sole quickly with national reach. The car went interstate.
Questions & Answers
Might be a dumb question but how do you mark your car as sold on your ad? I only have an option to pause the ad
Hey Kylie, not a silly question at all! We're actually looking to improve this function. Just under the 'pause ad' button you'll see 'remove ad', hit that then follow the prompts to remove your ad. If you have any trouble, give us a bell on 13 72 53 (13 SALE). -Alex
sorry I meant 'on hold'
Hey Kylie, To put your ad on hold click 'pause ad'. See the link below for more details.

If a car is put on hold how can you contact the seller if the option of sending them a message isn’t available?
In my case I called/rang the seller and thankfully She answered it and there's a phone/mobile nos. that She provided anyway .
Hi Jacqueline, if a seller has put their ad on hold you wont be able to contact them unless you their number or messaged them before the ad was put on hold. If you have the ad saved and they remove the hold you'll get a notification. -Alex
How do a message a seller that has place a car on hold ?
Well as for me , you either ask him/her to message you back if that person did not fulfill/buy that car ! Its up to the seller anyway !
Hi Milica and Evangeline, if a seller has put their ad on hold, it could be for a variety of reasons. You will only be able to contact them if you've previously messaged them (before the ad was put on hold) or obtained their phone number when the ad was live. If you're interested in the car, we'd suggest keeping the ad saved as you'll get an alert if it's taken off hold and advertised again. It's possible the car has been sold and the seller has stopped the ad for the moment while they ensure the sale if final. -Alex
