Cash Converters
Physical Shop, Online Shop, Short Term LoansFalse Advertising on discounts if you pay back early in 7 Days
If you pawn an item to get a loan with them, and they advertised that you will get a biggest discount if you pay it back within 7 days, be aware that it means that you have to go back on the 8th day before you can get your item back. (Police regulation and Pawnshop Act).
But if you "beg enough", they will happily break the law.
They call it as doing you a favor (act of kindness). What a lot of nonsense.
Rude Staff and Extremely inaccurate valuations
I went into Cash Converters to sell something to them because I had heard of their buying and selling for money thing. I went into the shop and a rude employee came up to me and asked in an extremely rude way; "What do you want?!" I told her that I wanted to sell a monitor. She pointed me to the buying and selling area. When I got there, the guy who was buying the stuffs also extremely rude, and gave my reasonably new, almost no damaged monitor with all the cables and original accessories a value of just $5!!! On the website, it says that they ...
Read morehave 'experts' look up the value of things, but this man just had one look at the monitor and said $5!!!! Absolute ripoff. I don't normally trust Product Review,(it gives Amazon.com 1.7 stars), but I was surprised at how accurate Product Review was his time.AshjadeeGreater Melbourne (Outer), VIC
Rip offs
Cash converters take from the poor and rip them off. They rob people who are down on there luck, You offer them expensive items & they give you next to nothing then sell it for triple what they gave you or for nearly retail value. It's a joke. disgusting behaviour.

they take you for a ride
Cash Converters take expensive items from people hard on their luck and in need of money, pay them a pittance for it, then sell it at retail price when the items are clearly used. I estimate they earn approx 200% to 300% on top of what they paid.
Don't sell to Cash Converters, sell online through your own means.
Don't purchase from Cash Converters cause they are not giving you any reasonable discount for the item being second hand.
Dirty Dogs.

Very untrustworthy
As reviewer angel a said DO NOT BUY ELECTRONICS FROM THEM. I have been burnt a bunch of times buying from cash converters. They electronics have a high chance of having something wrong with them. I.e. being faulty in some way. ive bought tech a few times that have reaked of cigarette smoke. Been modified in some way. Or just straight up faulty. They will lie and hide that there is something wrong with an item. They use Photoshop to make the photos blury in some parts to hide damage ect. Also some small items are pick up only which seems very su...
Read morespicious to me. Some items just listed are on sale? How is it on sale if its a newly listed item for the first time. They are very untrustworthy. They prey on people less fortunate pay $10 for an item ant then resell it for $100. Also will treat you like scum if your selling to them but if your buying from them your they best friend. I would say just avoid them all together and buy new at least you know what your gettingAdrianPerth, WA

Usually many items to choose from
Good selection of second hand goods .
When comparing to new prices , ( for the same make or manufacturer , or brand ) the items in the store were grossly overpriced.
It`s unfortunate , but pricing really needs to be looked at , it`s not at all realistic.
Better buy new.

Lies don't help your business
You state that 100 points of ID are accepted online, after walking two suburbs, I was denied because my photo Id was expired. I have my Medicare, Birth certificate and more than 100 points, only to be told outright that I need Photo ID.
Don't lie to customers, this is deplorable. You legit screwed my entire day up by lying to customers.

Awful for selling gold
Where I am in Townsville they offer $10 a gram for 9ct gold .... that’s about a third of its scrap value with any major scrap buyer in larger cities. They charge a standard rate of $40 a gram for 9ct which is reasonable for purchasing - just never sell to them.
It also seems to be inconsistent with what cash converters will pay in larger cities which seems strange.
Never buy from them please save yourself
If i could give them 0 stars I would, I bought a stylus on the 8th which they didn't end up sending until the 14th (I had paid express post), they did refund me my freight cost which was good, however with the freight being delayed I expressed to them I needed it urgently and would be buying a stylus from a different store and needing to refund the goods instead. They refused to refund me citing that they do not do change of mind. I understand that this delivery problem is "out of their control" however as a business they should own up to the d...

Pathetic!
Cash Converters are a complete rip-off!! I sold them a Ruby and Cubic Zirconia Ring valued at $500 - but they only offered me a miserable $45 for the ring!! They need to regulated so people are at least offered a decent amount for their item that they want to sell. Avoid them at all costs if you can help it!!

We Only Sell this for 'Insert Crap Lie' Lowballing scammers would be putting it nicely.
FACT: Cash Converters will offer you WELL below retail, around 5% of retail value. DVDs are bought for 16c each but sold at $2 each.
$80 mouse? How about 5 bucks? Dont let these parasites take your valuables and money. They feed off the desperation of the struggling everyday Aussies and have the audacity to charge an arm and a leg for faulty products, and always seem to mention your warranty when purchasing, remember store warranty expiration means zilch, they use it to mislead the uninformed, consumer law overrides store warranty.
I hope and pray Cash Converters goes out of business and the employees join the rest of us struggling Australians to see what its really like!
Dont answer her stupid question and you get the lone.
Turns me down over missing power cord. Ask's if I would buy this working LaneyPA without the power cord for $100, the correct answer is yes, then acuused of arguing.

Overcharging excessive fees
Cash Converter always made errors charging me double interest with high establishment fees equivalent to 20% non refundable. When I requested to clarify the actual balance they panicked and they say wait for accountant to call you back which means the junior himself doesn't understand the calculations with so many errors. I do not recommend anyone to borrow from this unscrupulous financial service from Canada who is interest in my opinion is just to plunder local resources.

Cash Converters Burwood NSW - bad business ethics.
Do not honor their online "quotes", and while you wait to have your intelligence insulted you can listen to the staff laugh about their other customers. (ie. fake tan, dyed hair etc.,).

Terrible service, scammers
I was trying to sell them my 6 months old bicycle. I was there first time with pictures of my bike, asking for estimate, how much I can expect for it. They told me I need to come with bicycle and show it to them, after that they can give me offer. So I came back next day with the bike and they didn't even look at it and offer me straight away $100 for bike with value over $500. It is absolute joke!

Most cash converters are too lazy to post online items or sell them after paid for.
I have had so many terrible dealings with the Cash Converters online stores lately, I have given them chance after chance after chance, as there are so many stores that it is not fair to the good ones, but most of them seem to behave in a similar way now.
* Stores sell items after they have been paid for, this is actually a breach of contract and illegal, but I have let it go.
* Stores make so much fuss about posting items, even after paying for them, so I have had to ensure that they pack them properly, as this is not taught.
* Stores which ar...
