Low prices offered
I tried to get a quote online to sell them a guitar. A1 condition guitar still selling for $1400-$1600. The clerk offered me $400 because the manager found one online for $1000 and said that they would put it on the shelf for about $800. I asked if the manager could show me where he/she found one for $1000 online, and the clerk looked at me like I'd called him a liar. I said thanks and walked away. Sold it on gumtree for $900.
After being fined by ASIC and then having to pay $10M back to their beloved customers, I guess they need to recover some coin somehow.

Customer service
Walked into cash converters to see if I could purchase a guitar after wandering around like a nomad NOT one staff member approached me to see if I needed any assistance and by the way I was the only customer in the shop. After 10 mins I decided I would get better assistance online and guess what I bought a great guitar at a great price and great after service, now I know why in-store shopping is dying morons for staff..
Heartless and no morals!!
I came into the Dandenong branch with my 2 todlers to sell an engagement ring which costed $4800 when we bought it. It is IDEAL cut, D colour, and VVS1 clarity, 18ct white gold and in excellent condition since i only wore it twice. I needed money urgently to buy house goods for my kids but the girl viewed the ring and offered only $250MAX!! Like does she even have any knowledge at all about diamonds?? I refused and went to sell it at a jewellery shop which i got 5% less for what i bought it for!! Bad luck Cash Convertors! You could have re-sell it for more if you bought it off me!! Heartless souls your employees really are!!

Beware if you’re applying for a personal loan online
Whatever you do, don’t apply for a personal loan online, you’re likely to be declined. Go into your local store as someone will be there to listen to you and will make the process a lot more easier in the long run. I’m doing that next time

Don't get much for products
I recently sold a pearl 14ct gold pearl bracelet that cost $180. I only got $10.00 for the bracelet as I was told they don't pay much for pearls. I was in the shop and saw that it was being sold for $119.00. I could not believe it. I asked the jewellery person and she said I do my research and because it was a brand name that was why it was priced at that amount. Cash converters rip you off and don't care about your situation. I wish they were not in business as they have no morals.

Buyer Beware - Cash Converters Online
Purchased a Canon EOS 400D DSLR from the Cash Converters website. I specifically called the store first to check if there were any problems with it, and was told it had a few soft marks on the LCD, it was a bit dusty, there were no other accessories apart from the battery, but otherwise it was in perfect working order. So confidently off I went and ordered a new battery, charger and CF card. Soon after installing the new battery (because the one in the camera had arrived flat) I discovered the camera had a faulty pop-up flash that did not work ...
Read more- Error 5 obstruction - which in turn caused the camera to lock up. I called the store who instantly refunded and arranged return, but refused to honour the accessories that I had no choice but to buy just to turn it on. Although Cash Converters handled my complaint quickly, they should have accepted responsibility for the cost of the battery and charger, and if they truly cared about their customers, the CF card as well. The retailer I purchased these accessories from wont accept a return or refund because they are not faulty, nor are they an incorrect purchase. So, I am stuck with expensive camera accessories and no camera. Will never touch anything again from Cash Converters - not even with a barge pole.Gizzy

Be Warned, as the marked price isn't always correct.
Tried purchasing a few DVD Box Sets at the Knox City (Vic) store. Thought I'd found a bargain, only to be be told that the price sticker(s) were incorrect and it would be more expensive. I stated that the mistake was not mine and they should honour the ticketed price. He then amended the price in front of me and decided to give me a slight discount, which was still more than the original marked price. I pointed out if this is the way they run their business, then why put a price sticker on anything as you can make up an amount on the spot. I didn't like his aggressive attitude towards me at all, so I won't be returning ever again. Your loss..... Anyway, about 50 metres across the road is a JB Hifi store so I bought my DVD's new instead.

Very disappointed, terrible, shocking rip off
I bought 18 carat gold bangle 8.9 grams at morooka for $396.0.
I needed cash and wanted to sell at my nearest dealer [ browns pains Brisbane.
He gave me the lowest price $175.0.
Also he said it weighed only 8.6 grama
Terrible.
I will never go there again.
They are shocking rip off. Good in selling with highest price they squeeze out from customers.
I will never dealing with them again.
GOLD buyers are better me I will go to GOLD Buyers - they are transparent about their price.
Appalling sales device - Parramatta
I would consider myself to be quiet an intelligent individual, I enjoy walking through these retail shops and have in the past found some bargains relating to the jewellery sections. This store however are in a league of their own!!! They appear all extremely uneducated and very rude...
I’m always treated like an idiot and spoken to with absolutely no respect. Clearly the sales assistants in Pmta store think they are above everyone!

Shocking rip off!
Cash converters give the lowest amount for the highest interest. There are much better out there if you need help. Brisban Gold Company, Annerley, are fantastic. Great prices from the loveliest man, totally trustworthy, kind.

Never buy something from here
Don't buy anything from here! First of all, customer service is crap, all the worker is ever so rude, no respect don't know if they want to make some sales. We bought a drill product that comes with two battery, on the first day the battery wasn't working at all, and of course the second battery broke down after using it three times, within a week! Ridiculous! Went in and all they say was 'no guarantee battery, nothing I can do' (what a solution). Never buy anything from here, waste of time, they sell faulty items.
You gotta be kidding me
Yesterday I take my New N3DS XL to the shop and ask how much can I sell it for (I bought it along with 1 game, charger and a case. Cost me about $370) Since I buy it I only use for 105 hours in total from last year since I don't have much time. The condition is almost brand new and I want to sell it for $160 along with everything since I need some cash. They said we are selling these item for "a bit less" so the best we can give you for these items is $55. Are you joking??? I bought these things for nearly $400 and they says it's only worth $55? "A...Bit...Less". I would still go for it if they give me $130 or even $120 but $55? I left the store.

SCUM SCUM SCUM
Cash converters prey on the poor, the destitute, and the needy. The goods they sell in there stores have been sold to them by people who are at rock bottom and have had to sell there goods For next to nothing to get by. I don't know how they can live with themselves knowing that they make there living by ripping off the poor. Disgusting excuse for a human being. The world would be a better place without you.

Loan declined i work my friend approved on the dole!!!
I have been declined for a loan from Cash Converters. They stated my out goings were 97% of my wage (this is not true at all ) and therefore not able to obtain the loan, i work full time and can easily afford the repayments, the frustrating part is my friend who has a bad credit rating was approved for a loan for the same amount on Centrelink with a lot more out goings that me. Seems they only want to lend to people who may have issues with their repayments and therefore making more money on late fees. Very disappointment with the double standards.

Loans - They’ve always helped me out!
I have taken out many loans with Cash Converters in the past 5 years and must say they are fantastic to deal with. They have been nothing but fair to me and are one of the only organisations who will give me a chance, despite my poor credit score. I’ve also missed a few payments from time to time but have always paid my loans off (+ penalties if required)
Plus they don’t hassle and chase me if I’m a few days late. Always my go to company.
I highly recommend them!
June 5th 2018 Update: Consistency a major issue! Beware!
Back again! You will see my positive review below this one!
I applied for 2 loans in April with Cash Converters, both which were approved for $400 & $500. Great service! ...
Read moreThe April and May installments were paid in full and then I settled both loans in late May - months ahead of time! A week later I applied to borrow $600 as support money for an upcoming business trip to Darwin and was I declined! And when I called up to get clarification they informed me that they didn’t approve it because of my reason. The reason was exactly the same ones I used in April to obtain the $400 & $500! This is really sloppy. I was asked to fill out a complaint form. No review, apologies given and better luck next time response. Very disappointed. Please beware there is no loyalty or common sense here.1 comment

Generally poor service
I have actually bought a few decent DVD sets instore at Cash Converters before. However their online sales is generally appalling. I now inquire about the availability of discs before ordering, as I have had several orders in which discs or DVD sets were not found (that has happened more than once instore as well, though the cases were on display). At least they were prompt in refunding my money. I recently inquired about several Bluray sets, I was told that they had been put away for another employee for themselves. However the items were list...
Read moreed for another three days, when I sent another email asking how to add them to my basket, and discovered a day later the items had been taken down. If they were purchased by another external buyer that's fine, but I'm not happy that staff get first opportunity when the items are clearly listed as available, and there should be an option to add all items to the basket. There should be a way of ordering items in the "Additional items available in store" section. I know Cash Converters is not the first place you should go to buy stock, but has not improved my view of their service.Tom K.Greater Melbourne (Metropolitan), VIC

Really slow and over-jolly
This applies to the Melbourne CBD store. If you go in the front, you don't know if they know you are there. There's only a bare counter - sure, there's a camera, but it doesn't say 'Be with you in a minute'. In fact it took 15 minutes the first time and 20 the second time, because during the 30 sec it took me to log in to my a/c online, the guy chose to deal with another customer who walked in. Then he was aggressively jolly and made passive-aggressive comments like "Is that a Galaxy G3? Amazing that it still works!" Then they send you a f...
Read moreeedback survey. Does any other business, online or offline, pester you by asking how well they did? Only Call Centres, which is bad enough already. Let's hope this doesn't catch on or my email will be inundated: "Hey, I'm [name removed] from the McDonald's Customer Support Experience Improvement Relationship Area VicWest FeedbackTeam! You had a coffee at McDonald's last Friday! Would you just take 5 minutes to rate your experience?" While you are waiting for a loan, the retail shop is deserted and has staff standing there all day talking to each other. Go to the Yarraville branch.Questions & Answers

Sadly I have to revoke this review! I paid off two loans with CC, totalling $900, 3 months in advance! Not a missed payment and paid off 3 months early!
I have subsequently asked to reborrow $600 2 weeks later and been declined! ...
Read more The consistency here is a major issue and of course this cannot be reviewed and nobody wants to talk to you. Very poor.
