Leaking Water Feature
In early 2103 we asked Castles and Cascades from Kalamunda to build a water feature in our back yard. It was a large feature with a large and small water fall. Construction material was rock. Castles and Cascades had done a job for us about 10 years earlier for which we were very satisfied so hence our choosing them again. ess of the original cost which was significant. Not impressed. The problems were brought to their attention from the first week of usage. We were told it was splash. We proved that particular sections were leaking. They used selastic and liquid nails to fix it. Never worked. When the company repairing it pulled all the stone off the front they found no liner had been fitted. The bottom level of stone work had a major leak and the area behind the stone was soaking wet. The water had also been pooling under the pond. The sand under the pond was soaked. We had already proved that the pond was not leaking so the pooling could only come from the leak in the bottom level of the water feature. The pump that was supplied failed after 12 months. We took it back to the dealer only to find that there was no warranty because it was a sewage pump that was not continually rated and it was not approved for continuous pond usage. Had to purchase a new pond pump. The old pump was rated at 225 watts of power. Hence our power bills were enormous. The new pump draws 50 watts. A diversion pipe was installed from the main pump to direct flow to the filter. Through testing we found that there was a significant leak, but we were unable to repair it as the pipe was cemented under rock.Similar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!
