I purchased a device from Catchdeal and it turned out to be a fake one. I emailed them anf they replied saying that they offer me a refund but im still not sure if I can get because I’ve read many complaints of people who couldnt get any refund at all.Someone please help me :((( thank u all in advance
Go read all my posts, as I answer this. 1, Go read your rights under ACCC consumer law. 2 you will see that they must refund you in full including all your incurred costs like postage ( its law! ). 3 inform Catchdeal of your rights and file the claim. Catchdeal have outstanding ACCC enforcement and must carry out this, so also inform the ACCC of your issue. The ACCC can only inform you about the process. Catchdeal must by law fully refund you but however they do try to drag it out so you will give up. Don't give up, be firm know you rights. Remember they have been doing this a long time and the ACCC have orders they must comply too.
The trouble with all this Catchdeal and their many other alias names they use, still sell these rubbish phones from China. Read all my posts I explain where it all happens. They are never new and not ever Australian models and never will have Australian brand name warranty EVER!!! Google China refurbish phones.
I won, I got all my moneys back after they tried to delay tactics and never ending never answer questions in emails. I challenged them and kicked their a!!.
Online electronics retailers, BXT International Ltd (BecexTech) and TCF Global Ltd (which operates Techrific and CatchDeal) have admitted to contravening the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) and provided court-enforceable undertakings to the ACCC.
If you order a couple of things from Catch all in the same shop, do they send one package or individual packaging for each item?
Have you not read any thing in Product review about Catchdeal or the other many alias names they go by?? All the ACCC enforcement rulings?? All the verified posts on their experiences?? WOW!! They tried to scam me then and I begun legal action upon them to enforce my rights under ACCC law for their scam. I proved my point and won. I even helped others here in their claim.
My experience with their postage was this, the tracking number did nothing at all, their time was incorrect for delivery, it took a long time to show up ( top it off the phone was Broken useless and so was the replacement after they tried to delay me with over 30 useless emails never answering my questions and requests) and they never answered any emails about postage/delivery times, or by whom is the carrier. The useless phone came from China a location near Shenzhen, google it XD

Go buy from them and learn the hard way XDD, go buy an phone not made for Australian net work, go buy a phone that is essentially second hand than this so called refurbished term, go buy a phone that comes with some ones else's problems, buy a phone with no! brand name Australian warranty ( you will be stuck with their endless, never answer your questions emails and delay tactics for any refund due to you ) and catchascam. I'll give them 10 stars out of 5 for outstanding work on how to scam sell useless broken phones. Truly outstanding work. But they fail when taken to court in this endeavour selling broken phones. I WON ALL MY COSTS BACK :P suckers :D
That's what they are so good at until you give up! Anyone these days can set up a internet sales sight so DO YOUR HOME WORK FIRST!
1. Do they have a real address?
2. Do they have a real phone number in Australia?
3. Did you Google their business name and read anything you find? (and you would have found this sight)
4. Did you use Google maps to go to street level and see the building in the address bar? and what did you see?
5. Did you read their email address?
6. Did you Google their ABN number? ( this will lead you to all their other names )
All this will not take you long to do and if a few min of your time is worth your money well...........
This will not take long to do, and after my experience I do all this now. There are 100's scam sights every where these days.
Go and file a charge back ASAP (Transaction Dispute form) and your Bank will refund you within 5 working days. Then inform the ACCC your issue and they will advise and register your complaint for future dealing with these scammers. If you used Paypal inform Paypal your ACCC rights and they must by Australian law refund you!!!
They will never stop as people are just always going to buy some phone if the deal sounds so good lol.
Remember so called refurbished is just a term for "old used broken phone ready for some sucker to buy"
I WON ALL MY MONIES BACK INCLUDING POSTAGE COSTS they were not happy, even got a QQ email from the scammers. They did try to delay me but I filed a charge back and that's when I got the QQ email from them "LOL"
Then after waiting some time I challenged them and forced them to pay all my other outstanding costs or face the Courts and all the costs they would be facing from that!!!
I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S7 off CatchDeal (or whatever their name is) on the 1/11/17. The phone is still being shipped. However, after reading all of the negative reviews (too late, unfortunately) I want to return the phone and get a refund as soon as it arrives. After reading hundreds of comments I've seen people say go to the ACCC and get it resolved there, go to your bank etc. I ordered it through Paypal. Because of the sheer amount of options I have, I'm confused on what the best route to take is. What should I do?
Phones are from China ( and other country's where they get the used phones from, devious at best ) and are not for the Australian network, see the post in questions relating to this. Some may work in our city's but most likely not in the country. The warranty is worthless too if the phone is not an Australian model, and that's why they say talk to them about the warranty not the brand. My experience and others I have been in contact ( Others in product review where we helped each other with this problem ) with are as what you will read here on product review.
Under ACCC law you can cancel before it arrives go read up on this. By what I was told if I know that this was going to be a problem I am entitled to a refund as when I ordered the phone I was expecting a brand new Australian model phone for our network fully unlocked! This was not the case the bloody thing was broken, not an Australian model, it was locked to another over seas network and blah blah.
I did a charge back through my bank and won as I keep all my records on the transaction, how ever Vickie who I helped through Product review had an issue with PayPal with this phone saga. Once I pointed her to the ACCC law she went to PayPal and finally got her refund. Go read up Product Review on PayPal as well. Note this too not one of these 5 star reviews are verified and have the same spin. But may be soon they may make some :P
You as an Australian consumer have legal rights you can find all this in the ACCC web sight. Overseas web sellers try their best to avoid this by being overseas. Australian law has no jurisdiction in China!! remember this!!

NO. I had a look into their set up too. They don't have an address or phone number and by reading posts here as far back as 1 year they all sound like they have very similar problems. Those posts are verified too. I had a look at their web page and their conditions don't meet ACCC guide lines so meh I did not bother too. I did not believe one of the 5 star posts here due to the fact most sound a seller posting and they have not been verified. I did read that some have spoken to the ACCC and I myself found a case against their other names ( I found links to other names these guys use, thanks google ) so I brought my new s8 at a real shop talking to a real person and got a 2 year cover for it. I did ask they Telstra shop about these sights and he said stay away as he has read some bad stuff about mobs selling old phones.
Read my post and everything I went through my answer NO. Buying second hand phones is a problem as they don't and can't and wont quantify every phone is working. Their web page is a joke for ACCC law. Misleading at best and when you find your problem they just talk "please advise" every time you ask a question in endless emails going no where. You have no other way than with emails to try sort your issue, in other words we have your money ahahahah. Not I, my bank sorted the problem then I got a QQ email from them lol.
The 5 star reviews are not real as none are verified. To verify a post is easy by submitting a invoice from this scamming Catchdeal to product review au. Phones not for Australia will be a problem for many reasons google you will find out how so! plus the phones ARE NOT NEW, they are second hand simple!! How Catchdeal and their many alias's got the phones in the first place is a question that should be answered, as per Australian law this may be a violation!! Their add is totally misleading to this fact. Under ACCC law this is a no no. Go to the ACCC sight and have a read, plus I did find ACCC rulings vrs this lot :P

They have just listed another new name "Digital Store". You will notice that BRUS AUSTRALIA PTY LTD are the entity name and TECHRIFIC AUSTRALIA is part of the names. You see that Catchdeal is not there, how ever my credit card showed TECHRIFIC AUSTRALIA who took my money. There is others that had BRUS AUSTRALIA who took their money. Google Brus and you will find a whole hell of a lot other information to make you wake up XD.

THEY ARE IN CHINA. Their address is a virtual office, no real address or real contact details:http://www.natpost.com/postboxes. In other words they get their mail redirected back to mainland China to resend the broken phone to another poor sod. They do not operate from Australia to avoid the ACCC and our Magistrates courts rulings. For the people who had problems had to either get a charge back done by their bank or from PayPal. But and this is a but!! you must do this asap and keep full copies of all your transactions and mailing receipts. This helps you with your bank and PayPal. If you did buy a phone from them my advice is to document ie take photos of the phones label under the cover and ask the Genuine company rep what is this phone. I did and it was a fake and was broken in the so called sealed box!! I won XDDD and got QQ email from Catchdeal :PPP I did a fair bit of looking into their scam in my spare time and found a lot of TOTAL LYING DESEVING SCAMMING AND TIME WAISTING TO CUSTOMERS!!
They use the word REFURBISHED and make others use this word!! Like David Tran :P This is found in the products condition tab ( you need to look hard to find this!) If these phones are REFURBISHED how is it so that my phone had a broken cover in 2 locations??? lol Second hand broken phones simple not REFURBISHED at all. 2nd hand phones are worthless and never worth the asking price. ( any electrical goods second hand are totally worthless and in Australia it is illegal to sell any electrical goods that were put in the rubbish!!! in Australia, but they are doing this overseas and flog the rubbish to Australia ) My best guess they collect them from the rubbish or from recycling bins and try to pass them off as new until you look hard for a condition tab in a vain attempt to cover their rear ends that the phones are not new. Read some posts and you will come to this conclusion too. They don't get fixed or refurbished by a tec at all, just look at my picture :P They even had the fake Samsung plastic cover on the phone in the box, I took pictures of this too XD They even charge a restocking fee to some poor sods ( verified tab post ) this is outrageous for rubbish that did and will not work from the start!! This is criminal in Australia!! Read the ACCC your rights in this matter.
My wife cut her finger on the sharp edge of this phone. may been a minor cut but still!!!! doing this is a crime. Are catchdeal this bad? lots 1 stars with same or simalar issues, also sounds like the 5 star reviers are from the catchdeal mob. Are they to be trusted?
The phones are fake and second hand, in some cases like me you will find them damaged in a sealed box! Just look at my picture! They are sent from Hong Kong not from Australia. I even have a document from china that came with the phone!!!!! said $100usd LMFAO total give away its fake!! A picture of the label on the phone was sent to Samsung Australia and they said it was Chinese and not for use in Australia. The phone did not feel like my other genuine Samsung s5, it felt a lot lighter and was!!!! Catch deal also pray on the fact that most don't see their address is a fake, its only a location for a post box, they don't have a true phone number, they don't have the correct wording for Australian consumer law in their conditions, they delay you in emails trying to push the 30 days past so you find a charge back much harder from pay pal or your bank, they lie deceive with their glossy add showing new brand name phones, they will say did you drop it XD!!! A intelligent person can read between the lines if a 5 star review sounds like a real client of catchdeal, they are fake too most likely written by Catchdeal making a new product review account!! but in one case I did read they were paying $10 for a 5 star review. Google you will find it!!
The whole way catchdeal operate is nothing like a GENUINE COMPANY SELLING GOODS ON THE INTERNET. They are criminals from mainland China SIMPLE!!!

Unfortunately I ordered a phone over this website and read the reviews to late. I send it back immediately to the senders adress and it was waiting for collection for a couple of days, now I will get it back because no one was picking it up. They wrote me I should let it send back to me and then to another adress they gave me. I will go to my bank branch today but what should I do with the phone? I am a tourist and want to travel soon.
I sent a new iPhone 6 Plus back to them as it had an issue, I had it checked by Apple as it came with a 2 year warranty. Apple told me the phone was sold new 3 years ago in another country and re manufactured late 2016. I sent it back after contacting them, asking for a full refund. They refunded just under 1/2 the purchase price saying it was due to postage and a restocking fee.
DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY OR WITH THEIR PARENT COMPANY - PINPIN ENTERPRISES they will rip you off and PayPal is absolutely no help either
Your banks fraud department can sort it once you have filled out a Transaction Dispute form. Your paypal should be linked to your bank account so it can be sorted other wise its the magistrates court for a order for them to fully refund you.

As I've noticed these bad reviews I'd recommend going into a shop to buy a new apple iPhone 6 or you could try eBay > I'd recommend staying away from the apple iPhone 5 as the screen is made out of glass and not plastic like the other mobile devices
Words to discribe the phone. Fake. broken, not for Australian use, second hand Chinese sent from China not Australia. Total none genuine brand name phone PRODUCTS as you see in their picture adds. So I just ordered a new unlocked Sony Xperia z5 compact from this company and after 12 days I haven't received anything yet while they say I would get the product after 3-7 days... I read these reviews while waiting for my arrival too. I finally got mine refunded through PayPal, but if they haven't delivered to you yet and you have already contacted them about this go for a chargeback. If it does arrive go through it with a fine tooth comb looking for discrepancies on quality, packaging, authenticity of items to raise against them. They offered me a full refund when I pointed out all the fake boxing and accessories that came with my phone. Might be harder to get that refund with a credit card, but can't hurt. Worst that can happen is you are stuck with the phone you paid for.
How can they keep ripping off all the customers and despite so many complaints they are doing business freely. They should be shut down.
A day after I contacted my banks credit card fraud department magically the refund was finally done!

From my experience, beginning early December 2016 to mid February 2017, it seems that they simply continue to string you along with non-committal emails always offering to help thus leaving you hoping for a result until you finally give up and want to be rid of them for your own peace of mind. I sent my locked phone back to them and waited for two weeks for an acknowledgment. Finally, I contacted them and they suggested that I had not sent the phone to them. However, Australia Post had a record of the delivery. They were supposed to repay the postage but never did. So, like I said, I just wanted to be rid of them so much that I did not bother to contact Pay Pal and try and get a refund.

Don't do it directly. Do it through Pay Pal. There are good reviews on here but they either just got lucky or they are fake. I havent read a verified post where they have gotten their money back without going through many motions!

Long answer... Based on all the reviews I have read on here about apple products and having personally seen a report by Apple Australia regarding a handset bought from Catchdeal that was supposed to be new in box but turned out to be previously owned by a guy in USA back in 2014 who had the same issues with the phone as the person who bought it from catchdeal plus In the report Apple said the phone had been refurbished with non-genuine apple parts and was essentially a fake phone I would personally not do it.
Most of the other reviews on apple phones have similar reports from apple. All the phones that apple have seen it seems have not been new phones but rehashed ones most of which have been preowned. This is a breach of consumer law as they are advertised as "new in box". I would never purchase from them again as they have sent me 3 phones none of which were what I originally ordered, they take ages to respond and you can only do it via email, after sending me a phone that didn't work ias it was not an australian handset CD guaranteed in writing they would send me a Samsung 900i but yet again sent a non australian handset again - Just not worth the hassle. I now have to send the phone back for a refund which will be another poo fight to get that sorted.
I have had to report them to our consumer trading and now the ACCC. None of the phones they sent me were "new in box" - the first one was "on" in the box and had a scratched camera not to mention they sent me the wrong colour.. .then then changed trading names and ABNs - replaced that one with a phone that was not Australian and couldn't read Australian sims had to send that back too (again at my cost) and then the 2nd replacement they sent was also not an australian handset and not what we originally ordered... to get to this stage has taken 4 months (well really over a year if you take into account we purchased in nov 2015 the phone all took over a month to arrive not the 7 business days they state etc. from my research so far the phones all come from China or Hong Kong. Some from Singapore (the first one they sent me was refurbished in singapore) Also my partners phone cannot update to the latest android OS even though it is now available.
Your call now you may get lucky but based on all the reviews here you may have more chance at winning lotto! In future I would only recommend buying from apple or a physical store like jb hifi... that is who samsung suggested. By the way samsung australia are now looking into catchdeal as they do not want their brand smeared.

The Australian company is simply a front. The 'office' in Melbourne is virtual. They have no telephone number and therefore should not be transacting online. Other laws broken I can tell you about too.
Personally, I only received a refund when I bypassed Customer Support and contacted my credit card company and went through the onerous hassle of cancelled the transaction. They were likely hoping to wait out the transaction until no refund could be garnered. You have two weeks.
I suspect they are scamming a certain percentage of purchasers by selling goods they don't have and delaying refunds; and then selling dodgy secondhand, or stolen goods from the Asian market to the remainder.
Best bet is to complain to ASIC; the virtual office provider in Melbourne; the payment gateway provider; and the web hosting company. All will be interested in learning about the practises and legal breaches.
Thanks Rob, ASIC do not touch goods and services. I have made a complaint to the ACCC and to Consumer Services (Fair Trading) the issue is now CD have offered a refund but the company is so dodgy I do not think they will honour it. Samsung Australia have said to get the phone looked at by one of their official stores and record all of it to see if if the phone is even a real samsung. One phone had screws missing, the phone was on in the sealed box etc etc etc... all samsungs came through china via some dodgy company called onebestway technology... addressed at the law courts in Victoria with a fake phone number etc. I want to shut these muppets down - so the more people who have had dodgy things happen to them that complain to the ACCC the better. My complaint was about the fact they advertise the phones are new in box but the reality is they are 2nds that have been used by end consumers. Apple have confirmed this with a number of phones bought through Catchdeal - Most were registered to users in the US and Samsung have confirmed it with 2 of the phones we received. I just read a review on here that someone received a phone with a scratched screen... it sounded like the phone I sent back to them! I have been offered a refund on PayPal but on email it's the same line: if it's faulty we will replace it. if you get the replacement they r protected under consumer law. PayPal will offer refund but no one has yet reported they have gotten the funds back and they operate under many names. They will not pay for the return as they can say we need to inspect it first. They are pretty much untouchable because the laws have not caught up with the digital global market. theu are just one company. Politicians need to change the policies as scams are increasingly sophisticated
I finally received one after I bypassed them and went directly to the CC company. It was a real hassle and took two weeks. They need shutting down. Please know that the Australian company is simply a front based out of a virtual office. They list no tel number which is illegal for ecommerce sites in Australia. ASIC need to act. Might also be worth finding out who they use as the payment gateway and hosting. Both will be able to shut them down for breaking the law.
Help! I need phone for work. I can't afford to send the phone back to China or wherever it was it came from and b given another dodgy phone. What should I do? There are so many of us in this situation.
I referred the problem to Vic fair trading as Catchdeal (aka Pinpin enterprises) are supposedly based in Little Collins Street, Melbourne. You will have to send it back to get a full refund so protect yourself first by getting a report rom Apple, serial numbers etc. Then buy and use a cheap phone while you wait it out.
My situation is different. The phone's battery does not work unless it remains on the charger. They have provided a return address and I will send it back.
I have sent back the Phone to Melbourne, the address on my Invoice. I have included in writing a formal complaint and clearly stated the outcome I want. I have also sent it back with signature on delivery so they cant say they didn't get it. I have made it clear in writing if I don't get my consumer rights I will proceed to ACCC and take legal action. I read on this site that someone else did this and got a refund , so I am taking their advice.

Good luck... I have had to go to Consumer Affairs as I am waiting on my 2nd replacement phone. The company is dodgy as and I am sure are just drop shippers for a chinese company that rebrands phones. My phone came on in the box and was not under warranty with in this case Samsung as the phone was a refurbished and not for the Australian market and came from China. it had a dodgy gps antenna and the replacement phone which also came from china was also not an Australian handset and did not work with any sim... I have now sent that back and was told my 2nd replacement phone was on it's way (they refused to refund) on 7 december but they couldn't give me a tracking number... that's when I contacted consumer affairs who are now escalating the issue as they have not heard back from CatchDeal. my husbands phone was fine but we know now it was not new as it was refurbished in singapore... my replacement phone had a screw missing from the back of it... I am still waiting on a tracking number and reply to my 7 emails. they are a dodgy company, Please contact consumer services in your state if you end up with a dodgy product or no product at all. They have changed trading names at least once in the last year... and have become worse since doing so.
