After the movers called and advised their timeline, they were an hour late. We were then advised they might not be able to move us in the rain due to healthy and safety hazards (which would have been the case if they were on time) After saying yes, not every thing fit in the truck and our stuff was left outside in the wet. After arriving to our new place, we noticed all our boxes were upside down, we had our tv and drawers broken which makes no sense.
Really Truly Awful Service to be Avoided
Moved a small apartment worth of furniture about 1 hours drive. There were a number of serious issues:
- They took 2.5 hours to drive between addresses which took me 1 hour. You pay by the hour.
- took a one hour lunch brunch (which I paid for) in the middle of the job and didn't notify me, so I was sitting around waiting.
- A piece of furniture that they put down fell over and damaged my wall significantly (attached picture)
- At the end of the job they asked for payment. They tacked on about $300 extra onto the quote. When I showed them th...
CBD Movers gouging scam!
CBD Movers were used to move a two seater couch, single chair, small wardrobe and painting, all sitting in our driveway (outside). The truck was supposed to arrive at 7.30am, however they arrived late at 7.48am and this was video recorded on RING. They parked the truck down the street on the opposite side of a busy road instead of parking in our double driveway (which is dangerous and terrible HR safety for both the humans and my furniture!) and this also added a lot of time to the job. After VERY SLOWLY packing the truck, they sat in the truck...long enough for my husband to go to our local IGA and buy some milk and bread etc and when he came back home they were still sitting there. They left at 8.10am and the drop off point was 29 mins drive (against the traffic) however there was no traffic. At 8.19am I received a call from head office and they said we had gone over the one hour mark and the charge was now $300 - but it had only been 22 minutes since the boys arrived and even if they had arrived on time (at 7.30am) it was still under one hour. So, they knew well before the hour was up, that they were going to charge me extra time regardless, meaning this is the status quo for this company. They aim to charge you extra from the time they quote you. This is gouging, it's dishonest and unprofessional. Plus, they demanded the money by calling me TEN times before they had even dropped off the goods. Explained this to two different people at CBD Movers and they didn't care at all - Buyer beware.
Shady sales tactics after initially saying they couldn't do the time I needed, called back 5 minutes later and said they now could (obvs couldn't but did it to get the sale). Changed the time of arrival 2hrs after the scheduled start time then cancelled completely on the day of the move. Do not use!
Wouldn't use again
Very good communication and booking ease, but the removalists themselves were terrible.
Extremely slow to deliberately rack up time as I was paying per half an hr with the clock starting at $150.
Needed them to pick up a wardrobe that was broken down into pieces , I ended up moving more of it than they did as they were insanely slow and stuffing around with dollies etc as if it was too heavy to lift. I lifted it myself 8 weeks post c-section surgery, assembled the whole thing myself and moved it into place. Just nonsense. They also didn't want ...
Failing - Pyramid Scheme
9 hours late. Achieved partial removal only as a result and we had to hire another company to complete. They have no-deport nor office address in NSW. No-one has a surname, and you never speak to the same person twice. The drivers try their best but the structure is working against them. Do not bother.
Worst experience ever
Small move 2bed apartment, 5min drive. Got a call to say they would arrive at 11.30am 2hours later no sign, called to be told it would be 2pm, then told 3pm-4pm. At 3pm they called back to say nobody would be coming. I have two babies under two, all our beds were already disassembled for the move it was shocking. At 3.30pm my husband and friends had to rent a go get to move everything. Worst service ever do not use unreliable. It also cost us money as I hired a babysitter to look after my kids while we moved.
No honesty, just lie after lie, understanding stuff happens that cannot be foreseen, communication is the minimum standard for every business, CBD Movers has zero integrity.
Do not hire
Don't believe the CBD hype
No recommendation from me in my 1 bedroom apartment !
Firstly they INSISTED on sending a larger truck, in spite of my protestations that a 4.5 would do fine. Nono, they all cried: it has to be a 6. At $20ph extra. I did my utmost to get back to the 4.5 but failed, managing only to get a 'special' price of $140 rather than $150ph.
The head removalist said I was correct once he saw my professionally-packed belongings; agreed that it would fit easily into a 4. Turned out they'd sent a SEVEN !! I was worried: 'why won't all my things roll about in...
Rip off merchants
I normally don't post negative reviews but this is the worst, dodgiest, unprofessional company I've ever dealt with. They took 7 and a half hours and charged me $975 to only move 2/3 of a one bedroom apartment 3 streets away in the same suburb. They had no idea what they were doing, packed the truck slowly, left so many things behind, didn't cover my things so they arrived dirty and unloaded everything I one room with all the furniture blocking access to anything I needed. I called the company at the time. Then emailed 2 days later and they claimed it was too late to complain. They also Partner with 365 cleaners who ripped my off also and didn't do the quoted clean. I'm taking them to small claims tribunal. Do no deal with them!!!!!
Lies ontop of lies beware
Booked 10a - 2p timeslot they didn't show up then when I rang see where my mover was they told me " they broke down it be 2 hours late oh and by the way there's a $40 fuel levy for your job " witch was not discussed or mentioned at time of booking BEWARE OF THESE ONES SCAMING CROOKS - ring to find out where my mover was and got charged $40 for doing so my move is only 15km diesel usage be 10 litres AT MOST @1.44/L would be 14.40 not 40.00 no hidden charges the ad says well that's a total lie 10am booking didn't happen best movers in Australia t...hey claim well seems more lies find someone else don't use CBD even took threat of legal action just to get my deposit refunded very quick to take your money very slow to do any work if u need to be out of somewhere on schedule DONT USE CBD
Do Not I Repeat Do Not Move With This Company!!! Scammers
This “company” caused over $3,500 worth of damages (not including the $8,900 massage chair)
Not only were the movers unmotivated they were unprofessional and showed up in open toed foot wear, and sweats. What company doesn’t have a dress code for its employees??
These “removalists” took 3 hours to load 2 beds and a sofa onto their truck… not to mention they have upped their rates per hour by $50.00 claiming “covid safety practices” workers arrived smelly, dirty, didn’t wash hands or even wear masks or disinfect a single item!
These movers lost ALL of the bolts to our beds - a $3,000 bed set that they dismantled, and a $400 bed.
Damaged our murals - $495.00
Damaged 2x $140 pot plants ...Scuffed and ripped our brand new leather dining room chairs - $132.00 per chair Damaged our $8,900 massage chair, and our custom cabinet $600 They have taken no reasonability for this matter whatsoever, claimed that they never received my claim even though I sent it in 5x with invoices for the damaged furniture and photos for evidence. Than when I mention posting a review they can than “read” my claim and emails!!!!! This company is a joke! We asked to speak to a manager - THEY DONT HAVE ONE! What legit company doesn’t have a manager??! Or insurance to cover their movers? This company than offered us $500.00 Cash to shut us up because we said we were going to post this review with evidence and go to small claims court. Not to mention they said the $1,400 we paid is now apparently gone. SCAM My family has been sleeping on the floor since the 18th of September as we cannot get these bolts for the beds from Bunnings and Bedshed has said that we need to repurchase these items as they don’t sell the bolts individually. Movers sweared and cursed at my family, and neighbours had to step in as they threw our pot plants on their yard with no regard. Due to the movers incompetence, neighbours, friends and family had to move items and hand them to the movers as they were making no progress and demanded WE help even though we’re paying them 170.00 per hour... This move began at 12:00 and they didn’t make their first load until 6:40 that night - new house is only 15 minutes down the road. This company’s ethics and practices are unethical and disgusting! DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM

I don't usually write reviews however I'm writing this in hope that my experience will serve as a warning to others.
It has been a distressing experience with CBD movers Adelaide. While the company charges a cheaper hourly rate relative to other companies, their movers were deliberately slow and rude. There were multiple occasions where we saw the movers standing around and chatting in the truck while my partner and I were back in the house helping to move the boxes. Whenever we arrive at the truck, the movers would then stop their chats and c...ontinue with the work. The movers requested for us to dismantle our dining table which is odd as previous moving companies that we engaged before hadn't requested for the same dining table to be dismantled. The movers were clumsy in moving our furniture (dragging furniture). We've ended up with a deep dent in our new floorboards, big scratch on our newly painted walls, and 2 holes in our table. I was holding back tears by the end of the move. I've submitted a damage form and awaiting for the company's response. Something to note, the movers requested for payment midway as they unloaded our furniture. When we requested to be charged at the end of the job so we can accurately determine the total time they took, they said it was company policy. They ended up charging us more time than they actually stayed - it has been a hassle claiming our money back. At this stage, the company has emailed to say they will refund the excess charges which hopefully will come through soon. In total, we paid $600 for a small 2 bedroom unit move between 2 location approximately 10minutes away. Our last move with similar number of items and same distance only cost us $350. In addition, we're now left with irreversible damage to our table (purchased $2000) and new floor.
Slow and Unskilled
In the past 40 years we have moved nine times. The longest distance was 712kms. This move was between suburbs, a distance of 30kms. In fairness, there were a number of mitigating factors which were outside our control and therefore affected the timing of the move. We were grateful for your kindness and willingness to accommodate our constantly changing time arrangements. However, the estimation of the load contents at the time of booking was accurate and indicated a larger vehicle than was supplied. This complicated the loading of the truck...and greatly increased the time taken and resulted in a significant number of large garden items being left behind to be moved independently by family and friends the next morning. Large items were roughly handled resulting in significant visible damage to the plinth of a wall display cabinet and torn fabric on the underside of a two seater sofa, fortunately not visible. The lack of skills and respect for property of the removal staff did not reflect the quality and standard of your company.
Spam Email, Text And Calls
Did not go beyond the quotation as they literally spammed me from first contact. We're talking 2 calls an hour, 5 smses, 5 emails. Said we were not pursuing booking with them and they still sms, call and email us. We've had to block their numbers and emails, but messages just keep coming!!
Do not use this company
Absolutely shocking service. Booked for Friday, we wanted Saturday but no availability. We took leave from work, got our keys early from the agent, scrambled to get sorted for Friday. Moved everything over we could on our own apart from the heavy stuff, all dissembled and waiting ready for pickup to make the process efficient. They then rescheduled to Saturday with less than 1 hour notice saying the truck broke down. Guaranteed we’d be first on list Saturday, didn’t turn up in the 7-10am time frame that we’d been booked for. Guaranteed they’d b...e there by 12, never turned up. Kept saying “another 15 minutes”, “flat tire”, “on the way”. A scam and a disgrace. Will tell anyone and everyone who will listen what a joke this company is. Would put 0 stars if it was an option. All the good reviews you read on Google are fake, keep scrolling for the truth.
Questions & Answers
Have you seen the tricks this company uses?
Charging extra for stairs, using a trolley, when they don't tell you that when they tell you how much it will cost when you book.
Work slow and charge more. Carry one box at a time to drag it out.
Sending a small truck so not everything fits so they have to do second load.
Turn up late or not at all and blame it on the truck breaking down.
Making you pay before they will unload.
Claiming to have insurance but if you try and claim you can't or they just say the damage was already there.
Have a read through some of the negative feedback. A lot of people who have been tricked.
Do your own research before booking and decide for yourself.
Funny how all the recent reviews are glowing. All made by ‘verified’ users who all have 1 review and accounts created recently. FAKE just like their website reviews. This company is deceitful to the highest degree.
They employ people who have no experience to save money which ends up costing the customer in damages and wasted time.
They act like the customer comes first but the reality is they just want milk you of all your money knowing you won't be back.
Look at how many negative reviews there are vs positive, that is a red flag.
they wanted to send me a 8 tonne truck for 2 beds 2 wardrobes a office desk 1x tv cabinet and a tv .... somehow i dont think that fills a 8 tonne truck THEN on day of moving they simply did a no show tried to b.s it out they broke down IF there as big as they are - they could of just sent another truck ? ? ? even if it was smaller ...
Did you know that this company pays people who post negative reviews to change them to positive?
No Pruser, but this does not surprise me mate
Not surprised as they spend more time trying to hide how dodgy the company is than they do actually looking after their customers.
Plus they claim all negative reviews are fake when they actually get their employees to post positive reviews.
Worst moving company ever.
Someone posted that they would not get their refund for damages unless they took down their negative (truthful) review
Is it normal for your Removalists to take 1.30 hours to dismantle 2 very basic queen bed frames and then lose a piece of the frame? The reason I ask is because other movers take 10 mins.
The answer to this question will help others decide between different moving companies.
Shouldn’t. But I had my bed already taken apart which took me around 30 mins or so.
We did it a lot quicker by ourselves as we had done a couple of bed frames before so had an idea how to do this. And it took us 10 mins to assemble - we were two people doing it together. We would have done this ourselves if we knew we were getting inexperienced movers as it looked like they had never dismantled a bed before!
That is normal for this company as they are scammers. Read all the negative reviews if you want the truth.
