I booked a relatively small job to move just 16kms… on discussion with the booking agent I was allocated 2 men and 4.5tonne truck .
Drivers didn’t turn up on the day so I agreed to be a top priority job following morning …still turned up an hour late and ill prepared with just one small trolley for the job . Good reliable service
Two men carried out our move. They were very professional and moved our one bedroom apartment furniture and other household items in a reasonable amount of time (approx 3 hrs moving from a 10 floor unit to a storage facility 4km away).

I had to hurry them up and because crew wasn’t strong they asked for my help ,
This was also used to deny my claim.
They dropped the washing machine off the trolly in the street right in front of me then when I made a claim the crew denied they dropped it .
A specialist technician diagnosed a cracked housing to an internal part which caused the machine to leak and said this has clearly been dropped.
**** UPDATE: The service agent gets Kudos for sorting this out hence the rating change. They have paid for the repair

I booked a 8 ton truck with 2 movers mid December for service on 29th of December. On the day of moving, they called in the morning saying their truck had some issues and will be late, but claimed it will be coming for sure. After few hours, they called again and said they cannot do the job that day and can do it after 4 days only. I told them to get me a truck that day because I had already packed everything and had to move out that day. I even told them to get me a smaller truck if 8 ton truck was not available and was willing to pay for 2 tr...ips. But they said it was not available either and my choices were to cancel the job or wait 4 days. These thugs don't have common sense to understand all the trouble we go through when mover don't show up. I had to call lots of other places and finally found a van that did 3 trips to finish the job. I ended up paying lot more money for the job. From other reviews, I can see this was not an isolated case that happened to me. Lot of other people have faced same issue. This company needs to be shut down. Do yourself a big favour and STAY AWAY FROM THESE FRAUDS.
The last three moves they have not turned up. They always blame "truck broke down".
We've used CBD Movers for years and used to be very happy with their prompt friendly service. However lately they have hiked up their prices, they never show up on time, and they seem to care less. We are very disappointed.

CBD Movers (Canberra) rescheduled twice after failing to arrive, never showed up, and no contact whatsoever.
I booked CBD Movers in Canberra to move across town. 2 bedroom apartment, cleaner booked for the day after the move, final inspection the day after. I was also helping 2 other relatives move on the same weekend.
I was told they'd be at my old place between 10am and 2pm on the Saturday. No word by 3pm, I called them only to be told they had been delayed, and could be there at 6pm. 6 came and went, and they still didn't call. I chased ...them again and it turns out the truck had broken down and they weren't coming at all. After try to explain they couldn't guarantee turning up at a specific time the next day (they said 'between 10 and 2' again), they finally assured us they'd be there between 10 and 10:30. They never showed, and we were left to frantically organise the move on the day. My best mate thankfully had a trailer booked as he didn't trust them to show, and it saved the day. We had to throw out our entire fridge and freezer (over $150 to replace everything), as we'd bagged everything expecting to have it moved in a couple of hours. CBD refused to cover the cost.
If you want be harassed daily hire this company!
I have previously left a review. Our move was a disaster. This company damaged $3,500 worth of furniture, and took no accountability even though we had videos and proof. We disputed with bank and won the case. ANZ said this wasn’t the first complaint they have handled with this company and we’re very understanding. Ever since ANZ credited us back our money for the move, we have been receiving phone calls from CBD movers, all from Different numbers from this company threatening us if we don’t pay them and saying “they know where we live” and to...pay them “their” money. This has been a daily occurrence, of them yelling and screaming. I block the number and they call from another. They have also been emailing “demand letters” and threatening to go to collections. I told them go ahead! Stay safe & don’t hire this company!
CBD Movers cancelled on the day!
I had booked in 2 men and a truck to come in mid December, I booked it a month in advance, paid a deposit and CBD Movers even asked me to call them the day before the move to confirm everything, which I did. Then on the day, I didnt get the call within the 4 hour window. So I called them to find out that they wouldn't be able to come today. But they could come back 3 days later! I said no, we sold our house and were settling the next day and needed it done the day we booked it, a.k.a today. Also, I said how would I trust them to show up 3 days ...later if they couldnt even show up today?! Overall very disappointing service and very stressful, no regard for leaving people in awful positions. Would never book with this company again, nor would I recommend them to someone else. They also only seem to show the positive reviews on their website, which is extremely misleading!
Nightmare experience for 3 consecutive days (and counting)
Job# 6718718. 1 star only because there’s no zero.
Task: 2 big items (fridge with wheels and washer) transferred to neighbouring suburb, 15mins average (30mins max even with heavy traffic) travel time.
1) Booked for Saturday, 27th November 2021, between 2pm and 6pm. By 4pm that day the booking was tentative despite having paid for down payment but said they “would try their best to be there by 5:30pm”. I had an international flight that day and needed to be at the airport at 8pm and waited for them until 7pm.
Result? They did not ...show up. 2) They promised I would be the first job the next day, Sunday 28th Nov (6am to 9am). Because I was already out of the country, I had to arrange for someone to let them in, and coordinate with the drop-off contact, so it wasn’t easy.
Worst moving service we ever experienced
We moved a 2 bed plus study with 2 men and a 4.5 tonne truck. The quote was 4 hours but they ended up charging us 9.5 hrs. We did paid by hours so they did the jobs very slowly. They had a flight with my husband about the bed as it was damaged during the moving and the manager called me and tell me they won’t move the bed unless we agreed not to claim the damage!!! I was very stressed and had to asked them to finish the job eventhough I knew it was blackmail!!!! My hand was shaking to tap for payment when I knew I had to pay $1.3k for moving. It was unethical!!! and the worst nightmare!!!! If you want to use them, trust me better not!!!!!!!!!

I moved a 1 bedroom, 1 study apartment, with lift access at both premises and parking directly out the front of both properties, 1km away.
All my belongings were already boxed and ready to go with an additional 8 boxes and a bike in my storage cage, which they knew about.
I was told everything was “too easy” which I took as this would be an easy job for them and they would be able to get the job done in a timely manner.
They started at 10am BUT did not finish until after 6PM. That is in excess of 8hrs!! And $980 later.
By market standards, this job should take NO more than 5 hours and that is being generous.
I was charged double their initial quote! They are really bad with their service including assembling the items and will take hours to assemble. I won’t ever use their service.
Everything went smoothly
We moved a 3br townhouse and everything started on time and the movers were great. Working hard even in the pouring rain at the unload point. Happy with the service and would recommend to others.

Worst company- highly unreliable
Must stay away from this most unreliable dodgy company if you don’t want mental stress. My 8 ton truck was booked 4 weeks in advance. On the moving day, one hour before their arrival time, consultant calls me and very cool says we are sorry we are not coming. I was like what?? 3 families were tied up with this move, me moving out, the new owners moving in next morning. Lease was finished for both the parties. I had to vacate no matter what, as the new owners had no other place to stay from next day. This dodgy company did not hear us, we pleade...d, but 3 families had mental torture, physical agony and huge financial loss!! I couldn’t move this day, moved in next day with 4 ton truck and had to do 3 trips to and fro. Not even one star!!! Stay away from this company and save your self from mental torture. They will stood you up and will not listen to you. Most UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY!!!
Rubbish - Avoid by all means
I have booked the CBD movers to start a job at 10AM as I had a specific window from the building manager to lock the lift. I called them at 10AM they said: "they are late in the previous job". Then called them again at 11AM - they said - "we have to move the time between 2PM and 6PM". I called them again 2:30PM, they said - "the team is still stuck at the previous job and they will be even late". So I had to cancel and asked for a refund. On the flip side, their support team are responsive and they can check with the dispatch team where the drivers are.
If you are not stressed with time and willing to get cancelled on, consider them otherwise avoid them by all means.

Yes I was ripped by them. They did dodgy things during the time of house moving where I can't keep track of what they have done because We were too busy, later when we went back to them they said it was too late because we reported after 1 week and our claims will not be accepted. Please take action

Yes, I have been ripped off by CBD Movers and they also got me to go with 365 Cleaners, terrible experience with both and I had to eventually book other services who were professional and got the job done. Go elsewhere, even Airtasker but not these shady businesses.
Have you seen the tricks this company uses?
Charging extra for stairs, using a trolley, when they don't tell you that when they tell you how much it will cost when you book.
Work slow and charge more. Carry one box at a time to drag it out.
Sending a small truck so not everything fits so they have to do second load.
Turn up late or not at all and blame it on the truck breaking down.
Making you pay before they will unload.
Claiming to have insurance but if you try and claim you can't or they just say the damage was already there.
Have a read through some of the negative feedback. A lot of people who have been tricked.
Do your own research before booking and decide for yourself.
Funny how all the recent reviews are glowing. All made by ‘verified’ users who all have 1 review and accounts created recently. FAKE just like their website reviews. This company is deceitful to the highest degree.
They employ people who have no experience to save money which ends up costing the customer in damages and wasted time.
They act like the customer comes first but the reality is they just want milk you of all your money knowing you won't be back.
Look at how many negative reviews there are vs positive, that is a red flag.
they wanted to send me a 8 tonne truck for 2 beds 2 wardrobes a office desk 1x tv cabinet and a tv .... somehow i dont think that fills a 8 tonne truck THEN on day of moving they simply did a no show tried to b.s it out they broke down IF there as big as they are - they could of just sent another truck ? ? ? even if it was smaller ...

Not surprised as they spend more time trying to hide how dodgy the company is than they do actually looking after their customers.
Plus they claim all negative reviews are fake when they actually get their employees to post positive reviews.

Someone posted that they would not get their refund for damages unless they took down their negative (truthful) review
