Build was good but customer service could be better
We decided to build with Celebration Homes as they were quite competitive with their pricing and the display homes were finished quite well compared to other homes we viewed.
Contract process went smoothly.
Good build time, took about 6 months from slab down.
Very few minor defects.
Salesperson was easy to deal with but when arriving for a meeting they expected us to sign the paperwork even though we weren't quite ready yet.

Could have been a good review
I read all the positive reviews on CH and feel we got the lemon. The design, street appeal, build time and customer response time have all been of a high standard. Sadly, I do not believe the quality of the trades we scored were good. A list of issues we have encountered are, faulty garage door, broken water pipe under our drive, both toilets had faulty valves, wall cracks ( quite obvious), every room has bad cornice cracking, the ceiling joins and nails were obvious and sub standard in EVERY room, the paint work, faulty front door lock, cra...cked tile in the toilet, cornice joins very obvious and the list goes on. On a good note most of these issue have been address, however not in a timely manner. We moved in November and 10 months later we are still having some of the issues rectified. Sadly, I feel some of the service people are not proud of their work or very skilled. In all fairness, the service department have been very helpful and without me communicating the poor service of the trades unfortunately were unaware of our frustrations. I feel Celebrations is a good builder, but need to screen the quality of tradesmen they use. Hopefully next week all the issues should be rectified, and then, just maybe will be happy with our house. It has saddened me that the issues we encountered have not allowed us to enjoy the new home feeling.

Average building design experience which could be improved a lot
Sadly, my experience so far with CH has been average and in some cases quite disappointing. To me, this company has management issues and requires a lot more of organization. This would be particularly true for a company that builds hundreds of houses per month and every step requires detailed planning (time is money gentlemen).
On the positive side, we were lucky to come a across with a fantastic sales consultant who really understands the business and was able to help us through the process. The service provided by this particular consulta...nt was outstanding, above, and beyond his obligations. On the negative side, it took Celebration Homes exactly eight weeks (and A LOT of effort from my end) just give us our building contracts. When you think about it, eight weeks is a very large time frame required just to provide a simple paperwork that ends up costing a fortune the to the customer (for example more rent for us!). Please note that I deliberately use the expression "simple paperwork" as our house is a standard house to which no major structural modifications were made; therefore, all the paperwork required was copy and paste of the same contract from an existing one and adjust where required. Then we have flexibility. My experience with CH is you either do as they say or you do as they say. Don't get me wrong, they treat you very well; however, it is *VERY* limited the *STRUCTURAL* (and other) modifications one can do in a house. For example, I am still struggling with CH just to get a simple WC changed. With CH expect a lots of "nope, this is not possible" or “let me check with my manager”. It looks like they have combonized their houses and any request that is outside the combo creates a lot overhead to them and the overall process. Again, changing a simple WC design shouldn’t be the problematic, should it? Coming back to organization, the package that we bought was a house package that was not fully structured at all, hence it was not quite clear what was the building design process associated to it. This was really weird for us =S. This would be like creating a new house “combo” of which no one really knows what’s included.
Find out how Celebration Homes compares to other Home Builders
Know better, choose better.
We decided to build with celebration homes because we found a design of a house that we like, the sales rep was very helpful.
We specifically ask her about the trades and build times of celebration homes,She told us that their build times were a lot quicker than any other building company and had no shortages of trades such as brickies as they share with another building company, WRONG after we signed and payed deposit and as the land was titled we were told we were given priority and things should happen quickly until we got a email telling u...
Less then impressed
Poor communication and lack of leadership in the team really show. The communication between client, office and builder lacking. I think we struck a particularly bad site manager which made matters worse. Many errors and huge list of minor fix ups which show lack of care and professionalism in workmanship. Now we are about to move in place is fine but we would not consider building with them again after our experience from consultant at beginning to hand over. Have met some excellent tradies in the mix and one excellent administrator, but not impressed overall.
Chose Celebration because of location of land.
Very poor communication in company
Forgotten after handover - Harrisdale
We had a really great experience building with celebration homes. To the point where I was recommending them to everyone! Up until we got our keys. We had a few small concerns about a site clean and a few other things which was fine. These things happen. Then we booked to have our phone switch installed by our electrician. We removed the blank cover on the wall to find there were no phone cables in the wall or anywhere on our lot. Apparently celebration homes only fit a conduit. Which I find out later is a pipe for the cables but no actual cabl...es. Imagine my surprise because only a few days early someone in there service dept told me there are plugs behind that blank cable. We just need to call an electrician to fit a switch. Or at pre start when we where moving the "phone line " to a different wall. On phoning the service dept I was told to go to the nbn website and work it out myself. After about a week if calling around I end up being told we wont be getting the nbn till November and if there is nbn in your street there is no copper cabling so you can even have the old phone line. This is all fine though frustrating, but why was I not informed? Why did I have to find out through thorough investigation. In my most recent email I asked to be contacted and no one has replied. I really have to feeling that now they have my money they have washed there a hands of me. I am being completely ignored which has made this whole situation bigger and more upsetting than it needed to be.
Not that great
Early build was good - good tradies but as the job went on the impossibility of getting a straight answer from their head office, the inability to contact the contract manager, who was never on site anyway, and the poor finish (including no clean up, left to us to do!) left a bad taste. We will build again in a few years but not with this company or with any of their relations.
Couple of real quality tradies in the job.
Appalling customer service and management, time taken for remedial works.
Questions & Answers
I built my home back in 2017 with Celebration Homes. I had the 1 year post maintenance guys come out and sort the cracks out and used a jack hammer thing to gauge out the cracks and refill them. Last year I noticed them coming back in the same area and now they’re bigger than ever, is this is covered by celebration homes warranty ?
I’m wanting to paint soon and I can’t paint with those massive cracks ! Needing some advice please
If you want to contact our service department at email@example.com they will be able to help you.
Hi can you supply your own tiles if you don't like what you guys have in your showrooms. It seems there isn't much varity in you kitchen wall tile selection at your showrooms.
Unfortunately not, one of our Prestart Consultants can take you through the range of tiles available if you like, Feel free to give us a call on 9202 2300 for more info.
Does Celebration Homes have an online PRE-START website where we can view standard selections and upgrades?
Not to my knowledge, they have something called
"The more store" plus a booklet with all the selections etc, but they give those out once you have signed on i believe. They do have a showroom in osborne Park that you can go view all the items :)
Hi Donna, We have a prestart page where you can find out some more info about our selections and see our Product selection book, there is also a Virtual tour of our showroom. Feel free to give us a call. https://www.celebrationhomes.com.au/prestart-meeting/
