Good for work commute

Good bike for work commute of 40 minutes. Purchased in 2019.
Only issues:
* It is heavy to push without ride assist
* battery can cut out on a warm day on a steep hill after 10 minute climb despite lots of remaining power
* Battery charger unit has failed - not sure what to do with that.
* Breaks have not lasted - I am on a very hilly road but lost control down a steep hill on the road when I hadn't realised they were not working
* Chain seems to slip off or get wedged sometimes without any bumps /straining
Good bike overall for the price but would not use it for very long trips like Great Vic Bike Ride etc. Show details

Was great until the spokes fell off and the battery stopped working

The bike seemed like great value but after a couple of months the battery started failing then the spokes fell off the back wheel. The company were initially responsive, then we had covid and its just been a lot of circular emails (never saying they wont fix it). It is now out of warranty and I have become exhausted by the process. So what seemed like a great deal turned out to be expensive hard rubbish. I don't normally leave reviews but I really thought i should warn people to do the extra home work.  Show details

Very disappointing bike and support

I bought this bike from Aldi in Dec 2019. Initially a good run but then the troubles started. First it was the constant shutting down and needing to turn off/on at the battery. Sometimes needing to re-install the battery to get it to start. And yes I've checked and pushed the connectors. Now the spokes are breaking which I note others are experiencing on this ebike. I would suggest steering away from Cell bikes and stick with a good brand. And LBS so you can get close by and not from the next state. Show details

Good bike shame about the electrics

Bike only works properly when the light is turned on. If you apply the brakes the lights go off and so does the assist. Turn lights on again and assist works. Brake and lights and assist go off. This is not sustainable. Back to Aldi tomorrow for a refund. Only done 156kms. Show details

Ongoing issue with broken spokes: repaired locally twice, wheel replaced by BicyclesOnline and now again a broken spoke. Unfortunately, the bike is now unusable. Show details

Perfect bike !

I was very lucky, as I managed to get the last bike for $499. What a bargain. My husband mounted it for me, I only use it for leisure and I really enjoy riding this bike. Great value for money. Would have liked a front basket or phone holder but for the price I can’t complain Show details

Excellent bike for the best price

I bought this bike today at Aldi for an excellent deal.Very sturdy. easy to assemble, manual was helpful.Rode the bike...wow what a fun. I am 90 kg, Even with 20% battery effort I felt very comfortable to ride the bike ..It has integrated lights... no need to search for batteries or to carry power bank to recharge. It also has an USB out to charge the phone.lcd display is great (really nice colour display) everything working as it should be. Hope it will not give any electrical issues.Motor is really smooth,I can feel the pull when I pedal initially ...it’s really fun.I will do the long term review or update if it gives any trouble Show details

If the motor worked would have rated 5 stars

I have the similar complaint. I bought a step through cell ultimo E1.0 e bike from Aldi in Perth. I fully charged the bike overnight and went on short trips (7kms per day) .This worked a treat and I was very happy with the bike. However, this lasted only for 4 days or approximately 30 km's . Since then , the bike assist fails to kick in. When I turn off and start the system, it works for a bit (1 min) and then fails to give the assist. The first 30 kms I was using only 20% assist. Now at full assist and low gear , I find there no assist to go uphill. The downhill is also similar. Show details

Great bike! Shame it does not work

I was surprised to read George's experience which is exactly mine. Bought the bike mid December from Aldi Sunshine Vic for $ 999. Did a 30 km trip perfectly on the original battery charge. Charged it and it failed after 10 minutes in the ride. After several failures and emails with the Cell support team who had never heard of the problem, I swapped the bike for a step-through since I also found it hard to swing my leg over the battery pack. I have not taken the new one for a long ride yet. This is my first urban bike and I love the upright feel, the gearing, sturdiness of the bike, night lights and assistance going uphill. If the motor works, I would give it 5 stars. Show details

Bought my bike in December 2019 from Aldi in Midland. I decided on this bike because I had previously bought the earlier fold up model for my partne and we love it. Unfortunately the chain keeps skipping or dropping off the rear cogs on the new bike when under pressure. On checking out the reason for this I find the rear sprocket cassette wobbles excessively. This seems to be a manufacturing fault and prevents the derailer from aligning the chain correctly with the sprocket. What do you recommend to fix this please?
