I am a customer of Cellarmasters. I also have a discount voucher issued by them. Today I received an email notifying a 'flash sale' for 24h including free delivery. I clicked on the link to get to the wines, and then on another to get to a particular wine which the site said was available in a straight dozen. When attempting to purchase, delivery was added so I phoned only to be told firstly that I couldn't use the voucher for less than a higher amount than my selection (even tho the online order form accepted the voucher and gave the discou...nt); and then, secondly, that using the voucher had caused the postage to be added (even tho the postage was added to the order BEFORE I applied the discount voucher); and, finally, that that particular wine was not on sale (even tho the sale page indicated it was available. Needless to say I did not complete the order and may not again. This is not the first time I've queried the order/charge/delivery process with them. I now conclude that the Cellarmasters publicity and promotions are misleading at best. At worst ...? My advice is be wary, and/or try Winestar.
Very happy First time User
I genuinely have no complaints. I ordered my wine on Wednesday evening. Thursday morning i got an email that my wine would be dispatched on Saturday. Friday & Monday were public holidays. Today is Wednesday and my wines are here.
All in all 2.5 business days is not bad at all. it's not like they ever promised same day delivery.
Never order from cellarmasters. they don't deliver on time and even after lots of calls they are never able to tell you any update... Even gave wrong info that we were not home and they left a card when nothing as such happened. I had a newborn and was not in any position to leave the house. I was home along with my parents 24/7. My husband had to wait everyweek expecting it to be delivered and go and buy every friday. it has been a month still not received yet...
Cellarmasters too long to deliver
I use several online wine sites to purchase around 2 cases a month. I have purchased from Cellarmasters several times but their delivery time is about twice as long as any other. Why is this ? They must have some very basic issues which must be addressed as they are just not competitive in this regard. I for one will not be using their services again unless they can confirm a more realistic delivery service in keeping with the times and what their competitors offer and deliver.
Received $25 voucher/useless
We received 3 $25 gift vouchers to cellarmasters which we thought was a very nice gesture/gift. first of all, we check the website and found that there are no wines on their list that is worth less then 70 dollars, but that was fine considering we had $75 to spend. Upon finding the wine that we wanted and checking out, it was indicated that we could only use 1 voucher per order which was not indicated on the terms and condition on the back of the card. So we decided to look at twin packs of wine or cider instead, only to find out that these gif...t cards cannot be used on those items, so therefor making the vouchers useless as we were only looking to purchase 1 or 2 bottles (which is also not possible on this website) Bad Marketing, expensive and so many hidden terms and condition
Just good old fashioned service
I read other reviews. I can't believe others had such problems. My experience in a word... EXCELLENT. Timely delivery and good communication. Will be back for more. I emailed them and asked a few questions after my purchase an they responded politely and quickly. My delivery was made a week BEFORE their estimated delivery time. Well done cellarmasters.
No problems so far
I've been purchasing wines from Cellarmasters for a couple of years now and have never had any problems.
I get regular emails with some great deals, sometimes I'm not interested, but of course I've purchased several times now, mostly mixed reds. I've used both their online gift voucher or the gift card they've mailed me. The wines have usually been delivered within a few days after regular updates re delivery status. In fact, I recently received 2 cases to get us through the Silly Season.
The wines are very drinkable and naturally some better than others, but a great way to try different wines.
I'm very happy with them and I'll continue doing business with them.
Haven't found any yet
ok so far
I've ordered from them a few times now; the first order took longer than I expected to arrive the next was very prompt; can't say i have any complaints; I don't know much about wine so to me it seems an ok way of buying mixed lots, so i've got plenty of variety of reds and whites; the prices? seem reasonable to me
the over deals; ease of buying
easy to get caught up in buying stuff you don't really want
Didn't even order it, yet it was delivered
I have purchased wine from Cellarmasters on three occasions and was reasonably happy with the service. One thing that is annoying is the constant telephone calls with them trying to sell wines over the phone. I was recently offered the 'Wine of the Year' dozen over the phone but declined. Next thing I get an SMS telling me my wine has been delivered. Got home, it was there and on checking my bank A/C found that they had helped themselves to the cost - none of this with my consent. Complained and got a short terse response from their 'Customer Service' person - last time I will deal with them.
Had been reasonable previously
Sending wine that weren'y ordered and deducting from my bank without authority
I wish I had come across these reviews before I placed an order. Three weeks and still no wine. Rang yesterday to be told it usually takes 10-12 working days so wait until next week and ring again if it hasn't turned up. They obviously can't add up the days. I've never had to wait more than 4 days with other companies. Here are so many good ones out there so avoid Cellarmasters no matter how good a deal they offer.
Still waiting for my order three weeks later.
BEWARE - Incredibly badly run business
Placed an order because Hoyts were doing a free ticket promo. Days later order was still on "hold" status. Contacted again and assured it would be delivered in 3-5 days. I then forgot about it and nearly 3 weeks have passed. Still no wine. Contacted again and will now be delivered in "3-5 days". Every other online wine store I use delivers in 1-3 days - clearly a high risk venture dealing with these clowns. Oh and the sneaky little $1 charge on top of the advertised price on each order, which IS NOT optional, and the explanation was it was to cover the guarantee if you don't like the wine. All smells to High Heaven. My recommendation - steer well clear of them.
Beware Cellarmasters Gift Cards!
I received a $50 Cellarmasters gift card from work for a job well done which was really nice! Unfortunately, the process of redeeming it took the shine off. Firstly, $50 doesn't get you much on Cellarmasters, so i found i was ordering a $200 case and chipping in the extra $150 from my own pocket, which is not a bad outcome for Cellarmasters as I would never have used their service otherwise. At the checkout I followed the instructions and entered the 19-digit (19 of them!) card number, and got an invalid number/pin error. OK, I figured I'd ...made a typo and re-entered the number; same error (throught he magic of cut&paste I discovered I'd not made an error). While looking for the number to call for assistance, I noticed the advice that if the 19-digit number didn't work, try the 30-digit number instead. OK, did that, same error. Tried it again to be sure, same error. Called up, waited on hold for 10 minutes. Spoke to some guy who basically made me tell him everything I had already entered online, and he couldn't get it working either. Then he tells me there aren't enough numbers in the card number, but I reminded him it was supposed to be 19 digits and there were precisely 19 digits. By now I'm the phone for over 20 minutes and getting pretty cranky, so he says "ah OK, I'll just give you a $50 discount instead" - so OK, I FINALLY got the outcome, but the whole experience reinforced my suspicion of gift gards in general and will disincline me to ever use Cellarmasters again. And a tip for the less honest folk out there: ring up Cellarmasters, tell them your gift card isn't working, cite a string of 19 random numbers and another 4 for a pin, and score yourself a $50 discount! Flakey gift card system, poor over-the-phone problem resolution
This mob couldn't find a beer in a brewery..
Placed 2 orders 8 mins apart, on 26/4, why it then takes 4 days before they leave the wharehouse baffles me but just had to ring asking where the other order was..." just a minute I'll put you on hold"... 5 mins later.." 2 reasons the computer assessed both orders as being similar and cancelled the second out and we have only just discovered and had to do it manually"... [censored word removed] me thats some [censored word removed] computer youv'e got..." and we had to wait for more stock" ... get the picture, don't even bother with this mob, o...rders are frequently stuffed up and quite frankly I'm not even 100% sure we get what we order. Thanks to previous who suggested Grays online, we will be checking them out. Oh and don't get sucked in with the "send you a $25 voucher"...
$25 Gift Card invites you in the brochure to "choose from the hundreds of wines available at cellarmasters.com.au". It was only when I attempted to place an order that I discovered that the print on the back of the card, and not shown anywhere on the brochure, states that the card is only valid for purchases of $120 or more.. Sneaky marketing in my opinion and I will not be dealing with them again
The worst way to buy wine
I ordered from these guys twice. The first time, I called after not hearing from them for two weeks and they admitted they had run out of stock and needed to send me something else. Not sure what would have happened if I hadn't called but the person I spoke to offered to send me a $20 voucher for my troubles which I never received. The order took a further week and a half to be delivered. almost a month in total.
The second time, I was a bit more astute. Called up after a week and the same thing happened. They offered to send me a different ...case, I said fine, mentally thinking I'd already paid for the thing and the price was pretty good so I might as well. A week later I get an invoice in the mail, call up confused and was told that they refunded me for the first case and sent me an invoice for the second. Note that the price was the same as it was supposed to be just a replacement for the original case that they never sent me. Logic did not compute with the person I spoke to when I tried to find out why I had to be further inconvenienced by having to pay again when they were the ones who had stuffed me around in the first place. Bottom line: frustratingly terrible service, ridiculously long wait times for delivery and apparently they never have any stock but don't feel the need to let the customers waiting for the order know this. Try Grays Online. Way better prices and usually delivered within 3 or 4 days. I've never had a problem and never looked back to the jokers at Cellarmasters. incompetent service, slow delivery times and always out of stock even after you've paid
Excellent way to buy wine
During the past 3 months, I have bought wines from CellarMasters in three separate transactions. All three purchases went well and I did not have any problems at all. In recent years, I have gotten used to on-line shopping and now prefer on-line shopping whenever possible. It is the convenience of shopping from my computer whenever I choose. The wine is delivered to my front door. I do not have to drive to any shop, get caught in traffic congestion (waste of petrol) or have problems finding a slot in the car park at peak hours.
As for the tw...o negative reviews posted about CellarMasters, one is from a person who has only made one post on this entire site; the other is from a person who has made 5 reviews (all completely negative - suggesting a chronic whinger who has nothing positive to say about anything). Convenience. Reliable. Occasional discounts and promotions. Delivery costs apply, except on certain occasions. Can take a week for delivery, but I am in no hurry, as I always have stocks of wine in the house.
Don't expect quick service ! Will never use again!
Hi, I ordered a case from cellarmasters and although I got a despatch confirmation notice a few days after I ordered it online...it still isn't delivered 3 weeks later!! This order was a gift and if I had known it would have taken this long I would never have ordered from this company. Although there are cellarmasters everywhere the product is sent from a South Australian warehouse..not a state/local warehouse. Customer Service was terrible in chasing this up. Every phone advisor passed it on to someone else.. They do have a disclosure in the s...mallest print that says it may take up to 21 days from order but you would be hard pressed to find it! Will never order from this company again. The gift recipient is still waiting for it ! Loses its intent as a nice thank-you when it takes up to a month to arrive? Bad service and poor delivery times
Definitely would not advise!
Cellarmasters have recently merged with ANZ wine club and this has been a very bad move for the ANZ wine club members. Their offers are absolutely not worth taking.
1. Be careful when making a purchase even for the wines/mixes at a "heavily discounted' rates. You will find yorself paying not less that in retail shops like Dan Murphy's.
2. Cellarmasters seems dishonest and sneaky with their promotions even wen they send you "gift vouchers". These are carefully though not to allow you to save real money. Example: I received two 25 dollar gift ...
Questions & Answers
I received a text saying my order was delivered but the wine was no where to be seen! Just wondering if anyone had the same experience.
Does not surprise me at all. Had money taken from my account without my consent and no delivery for over a week.
I had exactly the same experience (I suspect they have done it to me twice - the first time I was overseas and so I didn't follow it up). They claim that they sent me a letter offering me their Wine of the Year and that if I didn't respond I was automatically charged for the purchase. Seriously poor form, and possibly illegal.
