Don’t buy or sell here
Was looking to sell iPhoneX 128Gb after I upgraded. CeX offered $80. Original Box, charger, lightning to headphone adapter, instructions and even stickers were included. Best they could do was $100, saying that they had to wipe the device, clean, refurbish and repair any issues. Let me tell you without a lie, I baby my electronics, and there was not even a scratch on that phone. And this is while they have one on sale in the window for like $900!! CashConverters offered $250, but I ended up selling on gumtree for $440. Both buyer and seller won...here, where even cash converters gave me a better offer than CeX, who are notorious for low-balling you. I know resellers need to make a profit, and factor in that it may not sell straight away, but this is ridiculous. I was also looking to buy PS4 Pro 1TB one time. JBHiFi brand new is $530, so thought I would check CeX 2nd hand as I thought maybe it would be cheaper. Nope. $550 ...SECOND HAND!! Nothing extra included. The no-brained rude sales guy couldn’t explain why I should buy from them. So tell me guys, how does any of this sound worth it?!! I’m not going to buy a used electronic device, with the risk of it breaking early and dealing with CeX Indian call centres to end up going nowhere. Instead I could actually buy brand new with original Sony warranty included for same price or cheaper than CeX. How is this Business model even IN business still?! They have multiple stores in Sydney and I only hear bad things from people. I have actually checked their other products and 99% of their second hand electronics are overpriced. Just spend the extra $20 and buy new, or use gumtree where people actually let you test the device before you buy. This goes for selling too. It’s not always great dealing with hagglers, but compared to CeX customer service, give me gumtree or even Cash Converters any day. This is honest advice for anyone thinking of buying or selling with CeX. Please please please, for your benefit, just shop around. Don’t give these guys your business, so hopefully one day they can disappear, coz the sight of them make my blood boil.
I bought a phone for $770 iPhone from CeX.
I bought a phone for $770 iPhone from CeX. Then I returned to my place of residence in remote NSW. I discovered that basic features on the phone did not work: earpiece speaker & all location services. Then the coronavirus lockdown began. CeX customer support refused to let me post the phone back to the store--a three hour drive away--demanding that because I bought it instore, I would have to return it instore, even though with the lockdown it was illegal for me to drive the 3 hours to the store. CeX support explained why I was not allowed to p...ost the phone back for an assessment/repair/refund, they told me that because I had bought the phone after the lockdown, this meant I could not post it to them. I bought the phone before the lockdown. CeX refused to refund.
Terrible cash back...
Can't believe they were going to buy my perfect condition MacBook Pro for $160 and sell it for nearly $500...What an absolute joke. My boyfriend has a perfect quality Samsung Galaxy s9+ and they were going to offer him around $170 and sell it for around $450. Are you seriously trying to tell me a perfect condition Macbook Pro and a Galaxy s9+ combined is $330, while they get nearly $1000...Hah
Wish I could give no stars
This company is a joke. Bought a PS4 on Sunday the 9/2/20. Got the product home to find that the lead to charge the controller was not supplied. Thought I would just ring & let them know & go & pick it up. No way you can ring the store they will not supply you with the number as it is for internal use only. What a load of crap. The only way to advise of a problem is to fill in a contact form & wait for a reply. the first reply came through overnight (the pattern has formed as it would appear that this department is not even in Australia). Got t...he usual "we are so sorry blah blah blah we are looking into it. 24 hours until the next reply advising that the store does not have any. So why the F$#@ sell the product knowing full well it cannot be used. I was told what type of lead it should be so I am assuming they are suggesting I go out & buy something that we already paid for? The great business model I was then asked to advise the nearest store. ??? I thought this was a joke as they said 2 sentences above in the reply that they had contacted the store. Got another flowery fob of reply saying that as they deal in 2nd hand items that this happens occasionally. So they always sell items incomplete???? They have 5 or 6 other PS4 in the store I assume that they intend to sell these with no leads as well. This is a breach of Australian consumer law to knowingly supply incomplete or faulty goods but every time they reply they assure me they intend to fix the problem WHEN????? It has now been 3 days since the purchase & we are none the wiser. They have our money we have a paperweight. It appears the next step is to lodge a complaint with the office of fair trading. Stay away from this company this is a very dishonest way to do business.
Very disappointing. Take 40 almost new dvds/blu ray discs in, some still in packaging, to walk away with $7. Considering what they sell some of the titles for. Ripped off.
THERE ABSOLUTELY USELESS
All I can say is dont waste your time or money coz there useless never will I ever go back there rude dont help customer Accuse customers that there stock is stolen and just bad customer service plus they sell SCRATCH DISCS and dont care about dealing with it properly This is NEPEAN CEX and please make them close their doors for good they do not deserve to be in business
