Peeling Paint on "Platinum Quality Italian Aniline Leather"
I ordered an ivory italian aniline Antonio Citterio straight leather sofa. From what I understand, and from what is advertised on the site, aniline leather is the highest quality leather. It is dyed to achieve its colour, not painted. Within a year, my sofa began to peel a very heavy painted coating. The surface always appeared to be more like vinyl rather than leather, as the the heavy coating of paint fills in the grain and makes it appear rubbery and flat. Read more I have never treated it with any chemicals or detergents.. I have two other pieces of white aniline leather in my house that are over 12 years old and get more wear than this sofa - I've never seen anything like this. The finish is a disappointing fake leather and not at all as specified. In addition to the poor quality leather finish, he memory foam has lots it's memory. Sitting down on the sofa, you immediately hit a piece of steel or wood. Not at all comfortable.Questions & Answers
