The smallest 3m x 3m in the world
I have purchased the Coleman Super Light Instant Sun Shelter about a week ago at Big W. It seemed to be of good value for money considering it was only $99 for a known brand. The Coleman Super Light Instant Sun Shelter is in a pretty nice, not to big carry bag and weighs only a bit over 6KG.
The first time i needed to use it was a few days after that. The shelter was in a brown box and the box in the included bag. Getting it out of all the packaging was no big deal. I watched some videos on youtube before using it and had a pretty good idea ...on how to put it up. Once you have it out of the packaging it really is set up very quickly, don't think it took more than 3 minutes to have it up. That's when i starting getting confused. It simply looks way to small to be 3m x 3m but i thought that i am just imagining things. This didn't give me peace and i ended up measuring it. Surprise, surprise the 3m x 3m Coleman Super Light Instant Sun Shelter is on top just about 2m x 2m which is not even half of the advertised area. The legs which are standing out a fair bit might be 3m x 3m but seriously, who cares about that? You can't really hide underneath the legs to protect yourself from the sun. I simply feel tricked, any normal thinking person would assume that the 3m x 3m would be the top of the gazebo area but no, Coleman measures the area from leg to leg. This is not the first gazebo i own but it definitely is the first one measured in the way Coleman does it. I will pack it up and take it back to Big W and in future make sure not to touch any Coleman products. If i pay for an area of 9 m2 i simply can't be hapy with 4 m2.
