Rude Staff
On 15 Jan 2021 at 1200 h noon, I was using the self-checkout at the Coles Store at Stanhope Gardens. After paying by cash I did not receive a receipt and sought the assistance of the attendant on duty (an elderly lady). She mentioned that if my bill was less than $30 I needed to respond to the pop-up query and state 'yes' when asked if I needed to print a receipt. I mentioned that my bill amount was in excess of $30 and that I did not see any prompt for the receipt. She said, 'Yes, you did', to which I responded, 'No there was no such prompt'. ...Read more
She again repeated, 'Yes you did' and got my same response. This unnecessary exchange went on for a couple of times. She told me I was very rude before she accessed the printer and observed that there was a paper jam and several old receipts that were not released. I drew her attention to this and mentioned that the reason for the print function not working was indeed the paper jam and not my lack of response. Again she mentioned that I was very rude and grudgingly completed the process of providing me with the receipt, which she handed me in a very discourteous manner.Similar opinion? Self checkout issue
I'm beginning to have doubts as to the accuracy of the self checkouts at Coles supermarkets. Recently while using the system i noticed an additional $100 had been added to the total. I wonder how many times smaller amounts are inadvertently added and go unnoticed by shoppers.

Very Runny Rissotto
Unfortunately, Coles has skimped on the main two ingredients; Rice & Pumpkin!
Considering that rice is a cheap “filler” food to buy and Pumpkin is relatively inexpensive also, it is a pity they couldn’t have been a bit more generous with the quantities of these two staple ingredients that they are using in their risotto recipe (especially the rice).
Very runny, almost like a thick soup consistently, which is a shame, as the flavour is quite nice. But it is not filling and nothing like risotto. It does not improve with letting it sit for a couple of minutes after heating.
I will not be buying this again.

Fruit
Stoned fruit from my coles shop always turns bad from inside out within 2 days of purchase I am continually disappointed with fruit from coles and will be buying elsewhere because I am not happy having to throw fruit out not to mention the waste of money.

Rainbow cake disappointment
We usually buy rainbow cake for the icing, so smooth, silky and creamy. This time frosting is very sugary and more like the one that comes with bake it yourself package. Full priced, but changed recipe. Never buying it again. Coomera Westfield store.

Ultimate Apple Pie chips
I acquired a bag in a Xmas hamper and I was sceptical but curious. Opened the bag for my kids and tried 3 chips. Lo and behold I didn't detect any hint of apple pie whatsoever. They tasted like chips! Moral of the story. Don't be fooled by marketing propaganda. Chips are chips. End of.

Mobile coverage.
Why is it that everytime i am in coles my mobile coverage disappears. The only time time I can get coverage is when I walk out of the store. Is coles purposely blocking our mobile data to force us to sign up to their wifi?

iPhone 7 Deal
I have been trying to hunt down a Refurbished iPhone 7, which Coles and Boost Mobile teamed up to offer at $258. Its a $50 saving on the regular price , which sounds better than a %15 discount.
I have visited approximately 30 stores which all had something in common: They had already sold the stock.
On my 1st visit i was told "Come early in the morning as we get new stock each day". the following is a list of the evolving information i have been told along the way.
"No, no , they didn't come in today. Maybe try tomorrow. I'm also trying to...Read more

There is a reason they call sliced bread the best invention
I have had many of these experiences with their $6.00 sourdough baked bread. It is rarely sliced all the way through. small problem yes, and usually I can break the slices apart with my fingers through the packet. Today I had to remove the loaf, get a bread knife and slice my way through ¾ of the pack, top and bottom. Not good enough Coles.

No refund till now
So I buy an item on quicksale and they charge me full price. I only notice it when I am taking out the groceries at home and did a total cost count. Go and try to get it refunded. The staff says they can't refund directly and what they will do is give a refund of full price and then charge the quick sale item again. That refund hasn't shown up for hours and I got charged for the quicksale item again. WTH...when do I get my money back!!! They could have been decent people and not charged it again as I had to go through all the hassle but no...now I am out of even more money and don't know if I will even get that money from them. It doesn't even show any thing pending.

Quality of product very poor
I purchased Coles kitchen Beef Massam + Rice ready meal. Meat was of very poor quality, lots of fat and grissel bits in it. Very disappointed, won't be buying it again.

Poor COVID19 follow on
I have visited Coles North Rocks twice in the last 2 weeks and on both visits there was no hand sanitizer left in the pump pack near the trolleys. Both times I had to alert staff to the issue and on the first occassion it was quickly replaced however the second time around, a young male standing at the entrance not doing too much seemed put out when I let him know the hand sanitizer was empty. He left and never returned to replace the empty one. Coles North Rocks Management please remind/encourage your staff to do the right thing by your customers and make sure the hand sanitizer is available or bring back the wipes you used to supply.

Buy Australian
I went to buy a simple pastry from Coles today. To my horror, I had a close look at the packaging and saw that a chocolate covered donut was made in France. I checked other types of pastries and the were also made in France, Portugal Peru. What is going on where these major supermarket chains can’t support local manufacture. Not only that, I thought they were fresh, not frozen and put into a container to get here.
Shameful behaviour Coles

Coles Food Brand has become C Grade,
I have tried the Coles Lamp chops 3 times now and the first time we thought we brought a bad batch. The smell when grilling them is putrid. And the taste is like in-between pork and veal. The taste is foul. We have had the same experience all 3 times. And as for the chicken, its like a piece of white rubber. It also smells terrible while cooking. I have also noticed so many Australian products are being replaced by Coles own version of each product. This is where Coles just doesn't get it. They will never be able to match the taste when they ar...Read more
e using cheap ingredient to make their horrible products. I think it is about time Australians stopped shopping at Coles and Woolworths and Support the IGAs. They stand by the local Australian companies and small farmers. And most definitely stop buying Products from ChIna.Similar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!

Covid 19 social distancing
Hi , I stopped at your Maryborough store yesterday to do my shopping, as I live at least an hour from your store it was going to be a large shop. I was very concerned about the social distancing that was almost non existent in the Maryborough store. There was a huge amount of customers in the store, most isles with more than 10 people , the deli section had probably 20 people in close proximity to each other, definitely no social distancing, the staff seemed not to be even aware of this being an issue, with staff actually reaching past me to ...Read more
fill up a shelf. I realize that it is a different time and being in customer service myself, stood down atm for 4 weeks so far, I understand it is hard to control but as I normally shop in Gympie Coles , who seem to have this under some sort of control , all I can think of is the Maryborough store just doesn't care. Even the small Foodworks have lines clearly marked on the floor, numbers of people restricted in the store and perspex screens to protect its checkout people. Yes it is Unusual times and incredibly stressful for everyone but I think something should be done regarding this problem. Needless to say by the time I finished my over $300 shop , I had a mammoth headache worrying about contacting something in your store. Silly it may sound but when you make a conscious effort personally to Stay Home and only venture out once a couple of weeks , trying to do my best to not spread or contact Covid 19, Yesterday really was a worry. Thanks for listening Joanne FletcherSimilar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!

Not all Coles customers are treated equally
Those Coles supermarkets near to higher density living and especially those nearer to the CBD never seem to possess items which were normally stocked prior to Covid 19 whereas those Coles supermarkets outside of these areas possess sufficient supplies. I refer in particular to Isocol, the packs with larger numbers of toilet rolls, sanitiser refills, and disinfectant surface sprays. Coles must be aware by now that their inner city branches are quite close to transport hubs or in suburbs that allow all-day parking thereby allowing persons outsi...Read more
de the precinct to avail themselves of those branches that are open longer and for those hours considered inconvenient for most shoppers. Could Coles please stock these branches with a few more of the essential health items? Also, you might want to look at diversifying your tomatoe puree suppliers. My husband purchased 2 bottles of Coles tomato paste made in China as I avoid any item of food from China I asked him to take it back and get the tomato paste made in Italy that I always buy it is about $1.30 more and he was told their policy is no returns . He was not asking for a credit just an exchange. This was at Charlestown.
