overall ok, but disappointed with Coles Pepperoni Salami
I shop regularly at Coles and Woolies. Overall, ok, but I bought the Coles brand Pepperoni Salami and I was incredibly disappointed: no taste whatsoever; it was pretty well mainly fat; there was very very little meat and totally tasteless. Really disappointed that they would put their name on such a poor quality product. I usually buy pepperoni salami, but first time I have bought the Coles brand. Will not do that again.
This whole idea of reviewing Coles as one is ridiculous considering all Coles are independent
But I can tell you this:
Coles Waterloo is without a doubt the worst Coles I have shopped at in Sydney because of their poor selection of brands, variety of items and customer service. They definitely need a new buyer.
Coles Zetland comes second LAST because of their bad customer service on every level and I shop their regularly. Staff don't know where anything is and when I tried to purchase twice a discounted item, the cashier [Name Removed] told me it wasn't recognized on her computer and just looked at me like TOO BAD, and I could not help but wonder why she thought that was my problem and why she couldn't just input herself duhhhh
close by and very handy. Glad it's not huge then you spend to much time hunting for the items.
I would like clearer and more signage in the isles. Leave the personel isle as personal. To be reminded of period items when I definately don't need them ( Yes I am an older female, I shudder) And the male I board with would also like some clarity for isles and definitely keep the personnel isle labelled personel.

The website is not actually user friendly and i a big online shopper.
Found myself going all over the place on their website it needs an overhaul, unlike theur competition. In addition when paying by paypal it did not take me to the paypal site so i can put my password in. This is really dangerous, anyone could use it, cant believe paypal allows it. Dangerous
Disappointed they have stopped the 12 item checkout stops me going in when we only need a few items not worth it
I was mistreated by staff today. Only reason i go back is due to the amount of stuff i need in store.
Of course its useful its where we buy all our food from. I do wish there was a larger variety of items for sale.
Hope grissle beef checks cook well in slow cooker
Brought beef checks today ,absolutely grissle only,I have put them in slow cooker ,time will tell.The first time I brought them from Woolworths just lovely,first time buying in coles ,rather disappointed, my son is a x butcher so I would also know his thoughts
The customer service was great. So so helpful. I would not hesitate in recommending them to anyone. It is rare to receive such attention to details.

I was disappointed as they run out of knives long before the promo finished. I went a few times and still no stock.
The bread at Coles could be cut finer, and thinner slices as a variety of their sliced and loaves. Many bakeries do this now.
New checkout arrangement
Coles has recently changed layout of checkout, so all the groceries are pushed down and so you are frantically trying to put groceries in bag and it piles up, plus what happened to checkout people helping out groceries in bag
Of all the brands of Tuna on the shelves - NONE are AUSTRALIAN!! Why??? Please stock Safcol Tuna at Banora Central as other Coles supermarkets do.
It's why I shop at Woolworths
I don't believe in letting "points" rule my life. I shop mostly using Woolworth rewards; it comes as a pleasant surprise when I am asked if I want to redeem the $10 I have accumulated. A million percent more pleasant that the 20 minutes I just spent on line before finally redeeming some the Coles wretched Fly Buys I accumulated over the last two years. T'was compromised by them having two separate email addresses for me, one of them defunct 10 years ago. To change this I have to "pair my app". I have a senior citizens' phone. What's an ap...p? Perhaps I could suggest a return to the old way of asking at checkout about redeeming, BUT, who do I suggest it to? Perhaps the genius who labels an isle BAKING when there is no flour or baking powder (utensils yes, but these are for COOKING.) 'bet the manager is a man, probably the same man who ordered 108 pairs of nutcrackers and no butter curlers for Christmas. I suppose I could front up to the reception desk but all they will do is shove a suggestion card on me and tell me to go on line. In other words, I do the work. Coles drips with hostility towards pensioners like me. So many of us hate being channeled to computers; and all those yellow "2 for $X" offers are no good to us, sitting on our lonesomes, trying to eat two avocados, two packs of herbs or, god help me, 2 Toblerones. Time to step out from behind the office keyboards chaps and walk the floor. If you have the courage.

My husband purchased 2 bottles of Coles tomato paste made in China as I avoid any item of food from China I asked him to take it back and get the tomato paste made in Italy that I always buy it is about $1.30 more and he was told their policy is no returns . He was not asking for a credit just an exchange. This was at Charlestown.
