rude staff at Katoomba at the entrance inside three times a staff member has acted more like a bouncer than a bank employee planting herself between me and the line trying to get me to go outside to the machine to put my money in and not to the teller. Today no one inside to take my money, as the only teller was outside the bank using the machine i having to wait with only me to be served, SHE told me when she came back in If I didn't want to wait I should have gone outside to the machine! i didn't realise that i could ask questions and b...e listened to by those things. I thought sadly that was what bank staff did! I dread going to that bank it is a unpleasant experience if you don't want my money fine, I have a Bendigo account as well maybe commonwealth staff should visit there and learn what being courteous is all about because I don't think they know any more. Outstanding Customer Service
I have been visiting the Commonwealth Branch @ Thomastown for quite a number of years. The service which l have received from Tony and his team would be best described as brilliant. They greet there customers as they enter the branch by name if known, and provide the most exceptional service whilst in there branch. Keep up the great work. Maybe other providers should take note and learn on how customers should be treated.
I have been with commbank all my life and every time I have had to receive money there has been a problem. I took in a cheque from overseas for 20000 euro and first I was told it would take 21 days to clear. Then I was asked to sign a form and the teller was told off by manager as he got all the info he told mebwrong. He gave me the wrong form to sign which was to clear an Australian cheque not an international chq. I was then told it could take 6 to 8 weeks its 8 weeks tomorrow and today I spoke to the branch manager and all I got was- 1. The ...cheque gets sent overseas for clarification.... The international team has not heard anything. 2. None knows where the cheque is or if the overseas branch has received it. 3. Nothing can be done until they et the OK from overseas bank which I have been calling bank for 6 weeks and none has called them to ask if they received it. I should not have to be the one to chase it up as they sent it away they should have had a confirmation that cheque had been received. Now bank can't get through to overseas bank so I have no idea if thy received it, where the cheque is or if It was lost in the mail. I can't believe the lack of compassion and knowledge the people that work at commbank lack, all I want to know is have they received it and when will I get my money and they cannot answer it even though tomorrow is 8 weeks. My mum brother and sister are with westpac and got their money within 18 days. This is ridiculous and I will be cancelling all my accounts with commbank and I will definitely not be taking out my home loan with them any longer. They need to get into action because to not be able to clarify information like this is absolutely unthinkable and I never thought a bank could run like this. I urge anyone who is with commbank if you need to deposit an international cheque do not go through them and open another account elsewhere. It will only cause stress and anger.

Commonwealth Bank Midland WA loans officer
I recently applied for a mortgage through Nathan Sims at the Midland branch of the Commonwealth Bank. This loan was required to complete a new home, whilst I was still trying to sell my existing home.
The mortgage was approved without any difficulty and the process was made easier by Nathan's knowledge of the Bank's systems and his willingness to help.
I eventually sold my house and my previous mortgage with CBA was discharged without any problems.
Nathan was on extended leave when my house sold, but when he returned, he contacted me to ask ho...
very unhelpful and inhumane.......My father who is 90 had his wallet stolen today. He sobbed and cried in the shopping centre and it broke my heart. When i rang the bank to cancel his card the girl said she wasn't allowed to tell me if any money had been stolen , but would cancel the card.
I rang again from home explaining they had my power of attorney details in respect of Dad, and was told Dad would have to come into the branch to get a new card, it couldn't be posted out. He is deaf and ninety, he had a stroke this month, they asked him r...
Bad to worse
The CBA has become the most bureaucratic nightmare to deal with. Their staff have been ground to subservience. Logic and common sense do not apply.
When you close a loan account you loose access to statements online. But low and behold In this day and age they post bank statements to you because its insecure to email them.
Possibly its got something to do with being majority American owned. The aussies are the suckers who are gouged and then the profits head offshore.
A bank that does not look after it's loyal customers
After being a loyal commbank customer of over 15 years and applying for a $20000 refinance on home and being rejected. Im now proud to say Goodbye to you im taking my business elsewehere. Oh and they are giving me a better rate that what you offered me too.
This has to be a joke right? Only got one star because I had to!!
First the bank refuses to accept a standard legal Power of Attorney document and I have to spend all this time getting stuffed around to satisfy their form fetish. Then I return to lodge the unnecessary form and am made to wait half an hour. In the meantime an elderly distressed lady needs a small amount of information from them so I let her go in when my name is called. So what do they do? Push me down to the bottom of the queue. This is not a bank. It’s a joke.
Appreciate cheerful personal service
I have always appreciated the cheerful personal service of the staff at the Katoomba branch of cba. It was on my last visit to the branch that the efficient and pleasant encounter with Kiah Hall reminded me of this and how valued and important these personal interactions are.
One of the lucky ones!
We have been a long time customer of the CBA. Unfortunately had an unpleasant online scam experience recently. Advised the bank of what had transpired. Within two weeks the matter had been investigated and settled to my satisfaction. Most appreciative of the bank staff's assistance.
Still focussed on signing customers up for services - even though they don’t want them
The CBA may be the biggest bank but I really don’t believe they have taken onboard the Royal Commission findings, they need to realise without customers there just a faceless organisation that’s still hurts the working class person, I’ve been with these guys 25 plus years I’m the fool
Terrible, Stay away
We have been with CBA for our home loan and banking needs for 12 years. On several occasions we have asked them to decrease our interest rate to a more competitive rate. Each time they said they would and then did nothing.
We have been loyal customers of CBA and not once have they done as we have asked. There are so many lenders out there at the moment with interest rates lower than what CBA offer. They didn't even care about keeping our business when we told them we had applied to refinance our home loan with someone else and that all our ban...k accounts with them will be closed. CBA are not there for their customers at all. Their mobile home loan specialists (ie Luke Small) are useless. CBA should be ashamed of themselves and the way they treat their customers. They are just out for money and couldn't care less about customer service. Stay clear of CBA they are the WORST bank to deal with. A bunch of liars. Would NEVER go back to them and I make sure I tell everyone I see how bad CBA really are!
Terrible customer in Camberwell VIC branch
I have been banking more than 10yrs with Commonwealth bank but sadly this bank is very unfriendly and customer service is terrible nowadays.
Staff is lack of knowledge, rude and unpolite. Particularly not happy with Camberwell, VIC branch.
I will soon switch over to different bank as soon as possible.
very disappointing service
We have been customers with CBA for 23 years. Every bank and employee has their good and bad days but our last experience was extremely disappointing, unprofessional - we are most unlikely to ever use Modbury SA branch again.
We called [following a phone call to check if appointments were needed] to discharge our home loan. We had a fifteen minute wait to be seen and then found out that the personal banker had never done this task before and had no idea what to do. She asked two colleagues for advice re the process - all of which took about ...
Everything they touch, they stuff up
I opened a SMSF with these guys- everything they did was wrong.
Spent 3 hours in branch opening the account to be told the assistant did it wrong and we needed to start again (with an experienced person thankfully).
Then for some reason the account was randomly duplicated the following week, meaning all payments were rejected. Every time I called then it was 'fixed'. Eight times! I nearly wept from frustration.
6 months on, it is FINALLY resolved
The foolishly I opened a child's account to allow my kid to buy travel tickets with a card.
Withdraw $2000 from ATM and only dispensed $200. Told me to wait for 1 working day. Manager said would help $100 but not $1800. Been with this bank for more than 30 years. Didn’t know management has been down the track over these years until reading all reviews. Disappointing!!
I like use but every time I need to Withdrawal or Deposit cash it seems to be a hassle mildura vic Centro
I like use but everytime I need to Withdrawal or Deposit cash it seems to be a hassle Mildura vic Centro fix the problem already it's been going on for to long
SHUT THE DOOR IN MY FACE WTH.
20 year customer. I went to the Glen Waverley branch to finalise the last step my new home loan today. The staff member I met with shut the meeting room door in my face as we were politely talking . This left me standing outside in the hallway with my paperwork . No one else to help me when I waited a short time. Very rude and insulting . She didn't want me in the branch so i left without my loan as i could not hand in the final paperwork. I am really put off the Commonwealth Bank.
