Called and hold for 2 hrs not respond at all. Second day same.
Doesn't matter what day or time you calling always on hold for alteast 1 hr. At last lost hope.
MONEY HUNGRY, don't care about customers
Been with commonwealth over 30 years. All I can say is they do not care about loyalty.
Recently I tried to claim house insurance for broken Hot water system, it was my understanding that HWS was covered but once I had to claim they will only cover $500 to the HWS plus damages to house. Excess is $500 so no point in claiming HWS if minimal damage has occured. After lodging complaint all they cared about was how they are in the right not the customer.
I also mentioned that I been banking with commonwealth for a very long time and this is quite d...
this pandemic has shown the real face of this bank, no customer service, ask to reduce payment , over one and half month no response, no worries the last revenge is mine ( i ll quit with Commonwealth bank ) ASAP
Thank you for waiting, we appreciate your patience and will be with you as soon as possible
1 hr 53 mins so far, and still waiting.
All I want to know is how much will it cost to break my loan agreement with the commonwealth bank.
Long phone queues, high interest rate in comparison to others, plus a yearly cost for the loan.
When there is a rate cut from the Reserve bank, the CBA doesn't pass it on (the last time).
Then the CBA has the gall to write to everyone that they will automatically reduce everyone's payment to the minimum to help during Covid-19.
If you really wanted to help, at least pass on the interest rate cut, rather than...
Tried calling their wait times are as bad as DHS
Tried calling CBA
Still on call waiting the last 45 minutes.
The call waiting music really does your head in after a few minutes....
I managed to speak to someone who tried to authenticate me, said I didnt have an account with CBA, so she transferred me through to another dpt, back on call waiting.
Really really lousy service. Call wait times in excess of 15 minutes are too long.
No customer service, no help whatsoever. People please go nab or westpac .
i have been with commonwealth bank for more than 7 years. We have 4 home loans with the bank. Due to current situation, our tenant ask us to reduce the rent as they are still waiting for cnetrelink payment. Both me and my husband loss the job, close our business . We have decide to call commonwealth bank today. After waiting in 1 and half hour, we ask if the bank could lock in our rate for investment 2.59% as westpc nab and other bank. Your staff respond we dont do price match. Is that 0.1% make that much different for commonwealth bank. But to...us as a customer it is a big issue that we may put it into another gas bill . The company advertise so much on the website on your facebook on how customer can rely on you in the hard time. How does it make it relevant to this current situation ? It has been such an disappointing experience with commonwealth . If you dont help , cant help then should not advertise under no circumstance. I will make sure that tell. any friend do not get any service from commonwealth as a old customer that have been let down so many times.
About a month ago I put an application in to change my home loan interest rate to a lower rate. A month later still no change. I have been on the phone so many times for hours, gone to the local branch, and spoken to my customer relations officer who keeps telling me she can't help. Not sure what to do. It seems to me that while the bank does advertise on their website that they are offering lower rates to their customers during this pandemic, they are not actually doing so. They continue to charge customers at the higher interest rate on the p...retext that the application is being processed. Their excuse is that there are too many applications to be processed, if that is the case why they are not hiring more staff or giving their relationship officers and local bank managers authority to make the changes? Looks like false advertising :-(
Covid 19 financial crisis
10 yrs with this bank got no response during covid 19, it's been lodge for more then 10 days, very disappointed. Not reliable at all, worst coustmer service during difficulty.
Thank you Angelo
Thank you Angelo for all your help and clarification! You are truly a beautiful human being!! I feel so blessed that you answered my call today.
A million thanks, stay safe and God bless
I've been with CBA for more than 20 yrs; never missed a payment, impeccable track record with numerous loans and credit cards. The bank informed me of my interest only loan ending in a month time and reverting to P&I with repayments increasing by 40%. My plea to extend interest only period was rejected as under 'conservative's bank estimate' I did not meet serviceability criteria. That is, according to the bank, I am unable to service the loan on interest only but perfectly capable of doing so paying much more on principal and interest. Cynical...hypocrites! They spent millions every year promoting themselves as caring and people minded. Yet they flounder from one scandal to another, from one Royal Commission to the next, putting people's interests last.
Terrible service, don’t admit their own mistakes
Been with CBA for 24-25 years. Over the past year I’ve been astonished by the things that seem to go wrong or occur. Bank made an error and deposited $16k into my account when my mother tried to deposit a cheque to her own, then withdrew the funds. All while not speaking with me once to ask my authority of what is happening with my account.
Multiple errors with loan applications where CBA at fault, though they have an attitude of “that’s your problem” and rejecting their mistakes.
Also requesting multiple documents which were not relevant and or required. Multiple requests to phone (generally on hold 45+mins) to be told there’s nothing wrong or that I didn’t need call.
Waiting time is more than 1 hour
Long waitng time online. They cannot be bothered to put additional resource to handle customer inqiuires on the phone, yet continue to make billions of dollars in profits. Horrible service. This is several years after I transffered my loans out of that bank. They have not improved a bit.
Five years ago, the Branch Manager and the Loan staff manager allocated to my application, almost made me loose my deposit for a home settlement because they could not validate the property value in time. It just went round and round, in them confusing the ad...dress, then the values and no end to the drama for two adjacent vacant land which I was buying. Had to go to ANZ for a quick turn around for the same property transaction, and the loan and settlement was all done within a matter of days. It was all done within a week. They have promoted unqualified people in loan manager and bank manager roles, who have limited knowledge and have no clue on handling any thing which requires additonal effort. They only know how to enter numbers in worksheet. They do not use their own thinking and analysis. Incompitance would be a kind word to use to describe most. CBA is the worst bank. There is no doubts about them. They cannot even do a phone call inquiry properly.

Trickery with terms
I applied for a personal loan. I had a credit card limit of $25,700 and balance owing is only $520.00 on this card. Told me to reduce the balance to $12,000 and will re evaluate the personal loan. Guess what after I decreased that they still declined my loan. I have been with them since 2014 but its time to say goodbye. Why do they offer if they have to reject it in the first place.
Correcting information and other details
Correcting personal details about the loan after change of environment was difficult they required a lot of information and proof to correct.
Never got back on time with corrections after being done
Decline without any reason
If your credit score is important for you never apply for any product at commonwealth Bank
My credit history was perfect and my score was 729 they declined me
My salary is coming to my commonwealth bank account and they knew that my history

Only after the big $$
Been a customer of them for a while wanted a debt consolidation loan. Got declined was told need savings etc the reason I wanted to loan was to get ahead and get some good savings but no have a loan IV been paying in someone else's name for 3 years of a 4 year term never missed d a payment and I transfer the funds straight out of my account into loan account so after making a fortune of me in interest this way I'm still not good enough to lend to. It is time is as a country start walking away from the big banks untill this happen the small guy still gets stood on
Which Bank voted the worst bank of major home lenders, the rudest employee, the worst systems and unethical Bank? CBA
I suffered Depression, bullied, time and financial wasted during 7 years dealing with this bank starting the day I applied my first home loan. In fact the home loan personnel who opened my home loan in 2012 refused to helped me (because I complained his unethical works). He said "sorry I am now only looking after the home loan account $1 million or over (so my $500K+ home loan is no longer under his management), I could list up to 100 reasons not to choose CBA. This included people I dealt over the phone, and people dealt in the branches. 99.99...% I could NOT trust. Even if they promised to do something, you had to keep on reminding them 4 times to do so ! My mental health and my time had been wasted. They are good in bully. I am so relieved that I am no longer with CBA. If I could choose 0 stars I would select zero stars...
Closed account after 27 years
Closed my savings account with CBA after 27 years. I applied for a small personal loan and it was declined without notification. The fees and interest I've paid this bank over the years would be astronomical. I can't justify paying them every month for decades if they cant support me when I need them.
Impossible to contact
Have been with Commbank for over 15 years. From my first savings account to then getting my first Homeloan with them. I have three other home loans and have decided not use Commbank due the poor experience and difficulty to make changes and get rates in line with current market. My introductory rate is coming to an end and I have called them 7 days in a row each time with more than a 1 hour wait, making it impossible to do. I was planning to keeping the loan with Commbank but due to the inability to have the conversation I have since contacted Lendi and they were able to get me a much better offer with ING. Discharge form already downloaded
Poor loan rates, poor deposit rates, poor service
Deposit rates: For years I have been getting and comparing deposit rates for amounts over a certain amount, from the big 4 . The NAB always gave me the best rate, I spoke directly to their team that handles treasury rates, they issue you with a reference number and you go to the branch and invest it. The CBA did have someone we could email and even after speaking to her boss she could not get better rates.
Loan rates: it's just laziness on our part that they are even able to issue loans. If we spend a morning speaking to a broker, we will sav...e thousands. We have found a broker that deals with the Macquarie bank and she gives us the best rates, Service: Whenever I go to my local CBA branch, a few steps into the door I am accosted by an employee that suggests I put my cheque in to my account using the ATM. Even if there is no one in the queue. When it comes to rules and regulations, they are inflexible, their managers are rude, even if you have been with the CBA for 50 years. It's a brick wall Across the road at the NAB, we are treated differently. It's pleasant, the bank manager will go out of his way to help us, so we felt comfortable that if there were any problems in the future we wouldn't be running into a brick wall.
