Covid 19 financial crisis
10 yrs with this bank got no response during covid 19, it's been lodge for more then 10 days, very disappointed. Not reliable at all, worst coustmer service during difficulty.
Lengthy wait time, but great service!
Wait times are a pain. But, considering the coronavirus, a 25-minute wait isn't too bad I guess. Also, the rep was great! I didn't catch her name, but whoever you are, you saved my life! Thank you!!!

I've been with CBA for more than 20 yrs; never missed a payment, impeccable track record with numerous loans and credit cards. The bank informed me of my interest only loan ending in a month time and reverting to P&I with repayments increasing by 40%. My plea to extend interest only period was rejected as under 'conservative's bank estimate' I did not meet serviceability criteria. That is, according to the bank, I am unable to service the loan on interest only but perfectly capable of doing so paying much more on principal and interest. Cynical...hypocrites! They spent millions every year promoting themselves as caring and people minded. Yet they flounder from one scandal to another, from one Royal Commission to the next, putting people's interests last.
Atrocious, lengthy wait times
One star is a compliment, if only I could rate them negative stars.
Understand they are very busy at this time. How about hiring more staff- just as the other large organisations have done, in order to deal with the large increase in calls?
Have called 3 times in all instances I was left waiting for hours on the phone, currently on hold and have been waiting for 2 and a half hours (and expect to be waiting for several more hours - going by the comments on their Facebook page, and the rewiews here)

Lost my job & caring for terminal elderly mother, Which Bank won't waiver ERA fixed home loan - The Commonwealth Bank.
Just lost retail job due to Corona Virus, and am looking after 84 year old terminally ill mother who has dementia.
Asked for a wavering of early break fee of fixed 5 year home loan at 4.14% so I could manage a lower rate.
Remember the ad - Which Bank? The Commonwealth Bank.... Lost job, terminally ill mother and for all their Royal Commissions and the like, not much has changed.
I will make sure I tell everybody about this and in a few years time I have plans to upgrade and I won't be staying with the Commonwealth Bank when I needed them most.
I have been with CommonWealth bank for more than 4 years and I really disgussed with the service it provides online to the customer.
I have updated my addressing details and they do not update on the bank which means I have no card right now.
I have transferred some money through payID and there is tooooooooooooo much delay which is really disgusitng. As soon as I withdrow my money, I will discontinue banking with Freaking commonwealth due to its POOR customer services.

Credit card early repayment
Dear Commonwealth Bank Officers,
I tried to pay early repayment for my credit card last week as I needed to purchase something else but it was taking a lot of time to update the balance. Once updated the balance was different with my calculation before I made the early repayment. Also the balance owing earlier was higher such as $1400 then I had cancellation some transactions so I received some credits back to my credit so the balance was reduced to $1400 but the statement still confusing pay $1000 of $1400. I paid the balance for $1000 then I ...
2 hours on hold - what a joke!
I have been kept on hold waiting for 2 hours, for 2 days in a row now! I can't find my answer on the website, and I've tried emailing my personal banker, but apparently they've changed departments now and I need to call the main line. What an absolute joke!!
Get with the times CBA
We are in the midst of a global pandemic, all told to self isolate and I've just been informed by that despite having numerous accounts for many years I cannot open a new Term Deposit online for my elderly parents who I Am Power of Attorney for and who already have accounts. I can open any other account but not Term Deposit I need to go to a branch and the only way to get the special interest rate of 1.7% is to physically go to a branch. Good self isolation practices!
Card gets blocked for no reason
My last 2 attempts at online grocery shopping were blocked for no actual reason that I can determine. This took over an hour to work out and several phone calls the first time. This time I might just give up and look for a better bank. My card is still blocked even though I responded to the SMS confirming that the transaction was valid. Not nice during a major pandemic not to be able to buy groceries.
And they have no email support so I have to either wait until business hours and then make a phone call which I would really prefer not to do or ...
They listened and helped
Having held my current visa card for almost 40 years i phoned to the call centre as i am expecting overseas hotels to refund my account due to the virus problem. I explained that i had all ready paid heavy transaction fees when i purchased the accom. in November and now would be charged again fees for the refund as i felt it unfair. The customer service man listened carefully and much to my shock waived the previous fees. Not what i was expecting but great service even thank me for being a long time loyal customer. Makes you feel like a human.
Unacceptable customer service
I’ve been with CBA for over 20 years and never had a problem until now, My recent visa-debit card broke, it had a slight crack next to the chip so it was only half working, Only works when I insert the card and type my pin but the tap pay wasn’t working so that’s why I requested for a new visa-debit card online via the combank app, waited for about 6-7 business days for it to come but still nothing so I called them up to see what’s happening, they said that it’s been sent and it’s on the way, so ok I agreed to wait a few more days but still no...thing !! Bunch of liars ! It’s been a month now and still nothing !! I’m paying $2000+ Just on interest a month for my home loan with CBA and they can’t even replace my card !? Is it too much to ask for ? Would be better for them to be honest and tell me that you don’t want to send it because of some reasons so I can move on and go with another bank Hopefully this doesn’t happen to anyone else in the future, but I highly doubt it, they don’t really care about us because we’re all just numbers to them
Terrible service, don’t admit their own mistakes
Been with CBA for 24-25 years. Over the past year I’ve been astonished by the things that seem to go wrong or occur. Bank made an error and deposited $16k into my account when my mother tried to deposit a cheque to her own, then withdrew the funds. All while not speaking with me once to ask my authority of what is happening with my account.
Multiple errors with loan applications where CBA at fault, though they have an attitude of “that’s your problem” and rejecting their mistakes.
Also requesting multiple documents which were not relevant and or required. Multiple requests to phone (generally on hold 45+mins) to be told there’s nothing wrong or that I didn’t need call.

Still on hold... Has been over 2.5 hours...
As CBA has determined that I have nothing better to do than wait on hold for over 2 and half hours, I've decided that I can at the very least I warn others about their abysmal customer service. With no callback feature and a useless bot that says "you might have to wait 10 minutes", you're stuck with calling their black hole of a customer service line that tests the patience of even the most stalwart human beings.
Oh, I've already forgotten the first bit where I was hung up on after waiting for 30 minutes. Whoops. Oh again, they also they dec...lined my wife before that because of an imaginary 500k extra mortgage (on top of our real one). I would imagine this left a ding on her credit and was based on an error. The same glitch almost got me, but I caught it during review as it only appears AFTER you've gone through the step by step process. You see, it "adds" information you've not provided or confirmed, slipping it in there so you can't assume any of your answers or info is consistent without manually reviewing again after you've completed everything. Really great stuff guys - top notch infrastructure. What's really the kicker about all this, though, is that after waiting what seems a lifetime to get a few answers to some simple questions, I was transferred to someone that doesn't really know and/or can do anything at all. They simply read the plaques from their little cards and try to be courteous enough to get you off the phone without providing any real resolution. Any call back after to follow up as promised? Nope. Did they put a note on file as discussed several times with emphasis? What do you think? The only reason I called in the first place is because their app and website were glitched out and leaving our credit card application in a state of limbo - in a such a state where we had completed everything, but it continued to state that "action was needed" on our part. There was no other way to resolve this but to call them and indeed discover that there was something erroneous on their end. After a couple nights ruined, we're finally hoping that we can get a resolution by next week. One positive, in order to fair and accurate, is that we talked to [name removed] who seemed quite helpful and actually took matters into her own hands to solve this debacle. I can't say for certain that this will be the case, but she handled the matter appropriately and even lodged a complaint for us. I sum folks, just stay away from this big bank though. It's not worth the hassle and there are heaps of other banks out there that offer superior products and support. If you have a choice, stay away from this one.
Despicable customer service.. only to lend your money out to Adarni or to dredge the great barrier reef. Thanks Commbank staff and policy; you helped me decide to change banks and I urge all Commonwealth customers to do the same. CANNOT RECOMMEND
Customer Service via phone is pathetic
It took more than 40minutes to get through to customer service. And given the billions of dollars the make I find it absolutely disgusting.
There is no excuse for such poor CEO management.
The worst Bank ever.
Ive been a customer for about 14 years and its the most dodgy bank ever. I have 2 different loans with them and a small credit card which i pay about $390 a month in repayments, I tried to consolidate my debts with them which would make it so i only pay about $220 a month but they tried telling ne i couldnt afford that. But i can somehow afford the 390. After that i opened a bank account with ING and now my pay goes into that and all my current bills are coming out of commonwealth and i just transfer the money for those when needed. What they d...o now which theyve never done before is approve bills when my balance is at $0 and charge me a $15 overdraft fee everytime and thats multiple times a week. And then they try and act like by approving those bills they're doing me a favour. Any way they can take money off you they will. I would avoid this bank and join any of the others except for Westpac which is just as messed up.

i am with bank more than 10 years and this bank can not increase your credit limit.they can not identifiy over the phone and you need to go to bank to identified your self and waiting time in bank is 1 hour and branch is 30 minits far.so just identified your self you need to go to bank.such a time wasting opinion.
