Commbank is a Failure
I have been with the commonwealth bank over 30 years as a personal and then business customer. They have consistently failed me and caused no end of grief and yet I stay, because the idea of closing business accounts and letting all the clients know etc is too much to bear. Today may have been the straw that broke the camels back.
The issues I have had (just in the last year) are:
1. Refused me on a car loan even though I had 10 times the price of the car sitting in a bank account. They said I 'couldn't service' the loan and refused to enter i...
Terrible customer service and complaints handling
Contacted commonwealth as credit inquiries on my credit file under my maiden name, proof I didn’t make it, they stated was branch error but still will not remove them! Terrible customer complaints service to deal with
CBA to change to name to cant be bothered CBB.
The CBA have been processing my loan for 6 months now and once everything is all said and done i will be taking my portfolio which is worth a lot of money elsewhere
Horrible business banking practices
If you are a business owner do yourself a favour and do not sign up with commonwealth bank.
Dishonesty doesnt even begin to describe this bank. We have had our business account with them for roughly about 1 year and applied for covid 19 loan. Long story short they messed up our loan and instead tried to sell us business loan instead. Unhelpful and they effectively manipulate and lie in order to.
I have dealt with almost all banks and they all have their own problems but I would honestly have no difficulty to say that this is the worst bank i...n Australia by a long shot. Stay away, establish yourself with any other bank and avoid the hassles of having to move to a different bank. Royal commission has changed nothing about them what so ever. I think Nigerian banks would have a higher degree of honor and honesty than commonwealth bank.
Get with the times and allow electronic signing, there’s plenty of certified platforms and other banks have rolled it out. There’s a pandemic and there are restrictions, yet businesses are expected to get signatures hand signed in person.
Excellent service mobile loan manager Chris
After a terrible experience with st George loan manager a quick decision to try the commonwealth bank paid off as Chris saved the day. Chris was extremely helpful willing to assist and answer emails and calls at any time. He is also very knowledgeable in providing accurate information. I received amazing support from Chris being that im a first home buyer he made the experience stress free and pleasant to deal with. I received approval within 4 days (oppose to st George over a week and they were still asking for me to provide more information) I would highly recommend all to speak with Chris from Commonwealth bank
Absolutely Appalling Treatment!
I first went directly to Commonwealth Bank for a home loan meeting, to arrive with all my documents to find the Advisor had not turned up and had failed to let anyone know.
Then I approached a broker who decided to follow a route with CBA. After 3 weeks of requests from the bank for documentation..which we supplied daily within hours of requests, we finally got an answer of NO approval... And a lower figure could be borrowed instead. We then made a request for that lower figure...and yet more documents needed to be provided which again we did...
Wish I could give them 0
Took them 3 weeks to do something that should of taken 3 min. Then under charged me and threatened me because I owed them money. Absolute bunch of clowns. Also spent 45min on the phone while I got transferred through 4 sets of hands. Definitely wouldn’t recommend
Terrible! Not prepared to offer competitive rates even after stating they would! Don’t waste your time here!!
I Went from a CBA investment loan to a owner occupied loan! Was told the change In comparison rate would come down to 2.80% in writing. Loan changed to owner occupier but at a much higher rate. Requested to have if decreased as per previous discussions and writings. This has gone back and forth for the last 3 weeks with very little response or feedback. Finally got told today that they cannot offer this rate as its for new how home loans only. If this is the case why wasn't that stated from the beginning? Absolutely disgusted with cba’s actions and treatment! Don’t waste your time here go elsewhere
Getting a loan
The Commonwealth bank never helps pensioners or low income earners get any loans. Always says NO. The interest rate on one's account is appalling. The bank leaves its customers POOR. The bank gets all the money, makes trillions of dollars. To do what with it? When a person DIES they do not take the money with them or their belongings.
Burnt twice, never again
I have banked with commonwealth for nearly 30 years, during this time I have had numerous loans and mortgages. My first time was purchased with commonwealth, I refinanced elsewhere as when I asked the branch manager why they couldn’t match an interest rate I was told “feel free too leave when ever you wish”, so I did.
Stupidly I continued personal banking with them.
5 years later I have recently sold my house and am in the process of purchasing another, commonwealth initially agreed that they would lend to the area and as I had a 20% deposi...t it was a great start, until I applied only to pass all screening except and unexplainable internal problem knocked back my application. With a perfect credit rating, a %20 deposit stable job with 150k a year income I was knocked back after 30 years of loyalty. Thanks commonwealth your service is a joke I don’t recommend you to anyone.
I have banked with commonwealth for 22 yrs, we have our mortgage with them & had many loans & credit cards over the yrs we have never defaulted on any payments.
Today I applied for a car loan & got declined because I took super out (covid) & paid off my credit card. Bank said looks like I’m in financial hardship because I accessed my super. I’m still employed & earning a income that is paid into their bank. What a joke this is how Commonwealth bank treat good customers.
Called and hold for 2 hrs not respond at all. Second day same.
Doesn't matter what day or time you calling always on hold for alteast 1 hr. At last lost hope.
Long time on hold without being able to get through
I’ve spent four hours in the past couple of days being put on hold automatically to discuss my own home loan. Can never get through. Automated voice says phone should be answered within 30 minutes but that estimate is not even close.
MONEY HUNGRY, don't care about customers
Been with commonwealth over 30 years. All I can say is they do not care about loyalty.
Recently I tried to claim house insurance for broken Hot water system, it was my understanding that HWS was covered but once I had to claim they will only cover $500 to the HWS plus damages to house. Excess is $500 so no point in claiming HWS if minimal damage has occured. After lodging complaint all they cared about was how they are in the right not the customer.
I also mentioned that I been banking with commonwealth for a very long time and this is quite d...
Worst Bank ever
I have been a customer since I was 12 years old and have all my loans, money etc with CBA. They have been calling us every 6 months with offers to top up our home loan and when we finally call them to take them up on their offer we are told NO we cant help you. Total joke
Changed repayments without consent
Commonwealth bank dropped payments to a minimum for ALL customers. This is their way of making more money and masking it with ‘helping people out’.
They changed this without my consent.
They changed it effective from the 1/05, you cannot physically change this until the 6/05. I had a payment due on the 4/05.
I went into the branch to try and change it - I was told tough luck and nothing they could do!!
this pandemic has shown the real face of this bank, no customer service, ask to reduce payment , over one and half month no response, no worries the last revenge is mine ( i ll quit with Commonwealth bank ) ASAP
Thank you for waiting, we appreciate your patience and will be with you as soon as possible
1 hr 53 mins so far, and still waiting.
All I want to know is how much will it cost to break my loan agreement with the commonwealth bank.
Long phone queues, high interest rate in comparison to others, plus a yearly cost for the loan.
When there is a rate cut from the Reserve bank, the CBA doesn't pass it on (the last time).
Then the CBA has the gall to write to everyone that they will automatically reduce everyone's payment to the minimum to help during Covid-19.
If you really wanted to help, at least pass on the interest rate cut, rather than...
Tried calling their wait times are as bad as DHS
Tried calling CBA
Still on call waiting the last 45 minutes.
The call waiting music really does your head in after a few minutes....
I managed to speak to someone who tried to authenticate me, said I didnt have an account with CBA, so she transferred me through to another dpt, back on call waiting.
Really really lousy service. Call wait times in excess of 15 minutes are too long.
Questions & Answers
Branch manager accused me of POA abuse. Brothers used threat of loosing apartment to cohere her to bank. They were agressive & saying horrible things about the POS. Mum tried to explain that she knows but brothers ignored her, they know she fragile since dad died and she’s grieving. They know she not to stressed, threatened or anything that could another stroke but they just so agressive she couldn’t get them to stop. Clearly agetated &’upset there was no duty of care about mums emotional state. Cba branch manager continued to rattle off amounts mums still persisting that I know about that but they didn’t listen and basically ignored mum and talked amongst themselves. Mum and I share everything - our money is both mum and mine. I do buy grog cerise’s, scripts, petrol moving costs - mum pays the 1/2 utilities and I pay half or whatever. Now my reputation as well as my deceased dads name is being slandered in my home town...that branch manager did not handle appropriately but sneaky. CBA did not contact mum regarding homeloan in arrears. Never in the 3-4 months this was accumulating did the bank advise. I have tried to communicate with them regarding sale of unit hold up due pandemic and the info said homeloans would get blah blah. I want this condescending woman fired for causing undue stress worry all because she ignored what mum was trying to tell her and just spoke to men. I came home after renovating to find a broken woman who’s glue was nearly dry crumbled again and so I started gluing pieces back on. Mum gave me bills to pay so I went to post office and advised decline. So I emailed branch manager advising have utilities to pay, can you arranged a letter so mum can read instead of comprehend that her utilities, prescriptions. And home repayments have now been rectified due to mum having account where the direct debit for loan. I have sent a few detailed emails & as yet 5 days have not received any explanation for mum or have even done anything are did you arrange for So my question is:
Did the branch manager follow procedure.
Did branch manager ignore my emails advising I can’t pay debit, scripts anything as have been blocked so who buys food pays bills now.. I have no idea. She’ll disregard my emails regarding house market during covid. should you make she you have your facts in order before defaming a persons reputation.
I am so terribly sorry to hear this has happened to you!!!Please contact the bank and ask to speak to a manager, this is disgusting behaviour!!
Tried she refused to see me ignored my emails. I’ve advised my solicitor. I’ve spoken with financial ombudsman and customer connect which help resolve issues but I don’t want resolves I want an apology to my mother and the person reprimanded. But Thankyou for you’re support - I’m still shaking my head at the assumptions and defamation x
