Michelle Laylo from Community First Credit Union ( Dee Why) did an amazing job of our homeloan application. Our homeloan application at CFCU approved in less than a month thru the help of Michelle. I am amazed of her customer service, she is professional, approachable, you don’t feel hesitant to ask her a question because she always response on time via phonecall, sms and email. She is very patient in answering all our enquiries even at non business hours. She makes us feel that she is willing to help us. I highly recommend community first credit union because they offer a lowest interest rates compared to others, also the customer service is excellent. Thank You Community First.
Tanya @ Erina was absolutely brilliant
My partner (27) and I (26) bought our first home under the 5% deposit scheme. We went with Community First because after the mass ring around we did to get information and help, we found Community First to be the most helpful and were happy to answer all our questions about the process before we even had our half our deposit together. Tanya from the Erina branch was the one who spoke to us first and we were thrilled she was able to take us on as clients. Tanya was incredible. The home buying process is so much more complicated than we thought a...nd there's ALWAYS a time crunch and there's ALWAYS more to do, but thanks to Tanya we're in our new home and our biggest dilemma today is whether the new lounge will arrive in 6 weeks or 7. We had A LOT to juggle through the process. I won't bore you with it but almost everything that could go wrong did go wrong. Things with birth certificates, change of address, 5% deposit scheme requirements, incorrect tax returns, problems with the conveyancer... The problem with the home buying process is any little thing can derail the plan to the point where we may have lost the house multiple times. I have full confidence in saying we would not be in our home without Tanya. She took on additional correspondence with our conveyancer to sort out unnecessary dramas. She made it clear when we could take our time with a task and when we needed to hustle to get something done. She dealt with the times where we'd send her 5 e-mails all at once and then we'd go MIA for a whole fortnight. She explained the purchase process globally so we knew the general direction we were going in, but she knew when to break down the next step into all it's components so we didn't miss a detail. By doing this she never made us feel overwhelmed but we were informed throughout. We felt sincerely taken care of and it felt like Tanya was truly on our side in this insane home buying maze. She was honestly was the best part about our home buying experience. On top of all that good service, she's just a legend and was so bloody nice to talk to. I'm waiting for all this Covid stuff to be over so I can give her a whopping hug. On top of Tanya the Great, Community First in general had really consistent service. We had to visit a few branches and had similar pleasant experiences in all. Special mention goes to the branch manager at Narellan (Sam?). Explained dense documents thoroughly and gave us all his time and patience to make sure we felt comfortable signing important documents. To be fair, we were nuts to undertake this. As first home buyers in the midst of Covid who were absolutely clueless and insanely time poor with ridiculous ambitions for our purchase date, we really put ourselves under duress from the start. With a less personable bank, I wouldn't have felt so relaxed. With less information, I would have felt overwhelmed and lost. With less flexibility, I would have given up on an impossible tasks. Honestly Tanya and Community First were just the right mix of friendly and knowledgeable to get us through it unscathed. And we got a brilliant fixed 2 year rate with an offset and no redraw fees or fees for additional repayments (don't worry if you don't know what that means yet, Comminity First will help you out!). Listen, if we can do it, you certainly can. My partner and I still haven't even had a one year anniversary and we have a mortgage and a global pandemic under our belt. You got this.
Refinance home loan
Recently refinanced with CFCU on the lowest rate on the market at 1.99% variable. Roeli from the Narellan branch was helpful every step of the way. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a better deal.
Best bank, best offer and best service
I have used the liverpool branch for my home loan. Found these guys online because of their best home loan offer. Jessica was great and the best loan facilitator i have ever seen. She left the company however the manager matthew and patty took over my file and haven't been any less than excellent.
These guys take your business very seriously and give their 100% to make sure everything goes smooth. I have not seen a loan getting approved so quickly. and the best thing is the interest rate and benefits. I have banked with 2 of the big banks for decades and they did not care to offer me anything good so here we go community first credit union moving my business to you.
Seamless transaction for my investment property
A few years ago I acquired a green loan to buy solar panels. Every six months They checked in on me and they were so good (and also had a great interest rate) that I purchased an investment through them.

Reliable & Great Customer Service
My Mortgage Specialist Sharlet has been very helpful throughout my journey with applying for a new home loan. Terrible Customer Service
I withdrew my application from this company as the customer service is the worst I have ever had to deal with. I applied for a credit card balance transfer and was treated as if I was refinancing a mortgage. I was applying on my own and they wanted details of my husbands company and personal accounts which I found very intrusive. I have dealt with many financiers in the past who have provided excellent customer service and I would not recommend this company at all.
Cheaper IS NOT better
I refinanced with this group a couple years ago. Firstly they took almost 5 months of back and forth to complete the paperwork. There was no one person dedicated to my case. I had to spend hours and hours with their customer service in this period to explain things and get my application progressed. After months of paperwork back and forth and as we were finally getting to the finish line, I was made aware the "offset" account attached to my variable loan isn't really a full service offset account. I was told I can not use it as a transacti...on account. I had no ideas there was any other meaning to the concept of having an "offset" account. Anyway I was so sick of it that I went through with it and for the past 2 years I have been having to transfer funds between this "offset" account and my transaction account WEEKLY, at ANOTHER bank to do my online banking. It has been a nightmare that I am putting an end to finally. I am moving and taking my business elsewhere. Also my current variable rate with this mob is 3.24% and I have been offered by 9 other institutions much lower rates, from 2.39% to 3.04%. Many banks are offering 2.7% on average. So be careful and don't get sucked in because obviously when the rates go down, they won't pass it on.
Worse than a Bank
Though they come across nice they can not deliver on their statements. Not to be trusted. All I wanted was a on one house that was urgent and they wasted my time on a loan for my personnel house as a condition for the other loan only to waste my time.
