No issues at all – A lot of people giving this fridge a bad review. I’ve been using it since 2017 and not had a single issue. Only thing I’d say it’s it bit hungry on the power, but after upgrading my solar setup it’s all good. Show details

75ltr Dual zone: Great concept but a problematic product, very poor quality control in manufacturing – "Three strikes and you are out." Our initially purchased unit had to be returned on the day of purchase. After unpacking it we noticed the USB wiring harness was projecting out under the control panel. It had been screwed down and pinched under the panel edge on the assembly line. The QC must have missed. It. We returned the unit and it was… Read more

replaced with another unit. On unpacking that one we noted one of the internal lights was not working. Off to their Warranty repair agent in Adelaide. Turns out the wiring for the light had not been connected in the unit. QC problem. On return, constant voltage errors and internal 40amh battery unable to support the fridge because of (battery) problem? Fridge could barely run an hour before voltage drop from fully charged battery switched off the compressor: Error F1.. Fridge replaced again with new unit. This unit had spilled/dripping sealant in one of the chambers. Very poor quality control. We cleaned it as best we could. Unit failed on first trip away. Faulty control board replaced. New control board lasted 21 hours and failed again. Unit returned to Companion for refund. Refund received. Overall a really miserable experience. It ruined our 3 week holiday as we had to revert to our trusty Dometic Cooler and use ice. A good engineering concept with lousy implementation in production and quality control. A Bushman is looking good.

sucks more power than chernobyl – Had this fridge for 3 years with intermittent use, running on 280Ah of batteries and only lasts about 24hrs especially if running one section as a freezer. Last trip of 2 months had 250watts of solar input to batteries as well and it struggled last longer than 36hrs when free camping. Show details

Steer Clear! – Would not recommend companion fridge / freezer products. This unit showed very early signs of deterioration. Had to have the cover replaced as it was not even slightly durable and the base of the unit rusted over after only a few uses. The unit is massive with awkward storage space despite being 65L. Show details

With a 120w solar panel, dcdc charger and dual battery(2nd battery 120ah) setup it worked well Show details

Just bought it, rubbish on 12v. Keeps turning off the compressor temps going up.don’t buy one – Going camping and 12v charge is not working properly in the fridge and keeps turning the compressor off when voltage falls below 12v. This happens with monitor on any setting. Show details

disappeared again. Now it’s being repaired again and I haven’t seen it for another three months up to know. Call that a good fridge and service.

Great fridge – I went to my local BCF during my lunch break to buy a $30 12V shower and ended up walking out with a $700 Companion XERO60 fridge that was on special down from $1199. After explaining to my wife that I bought it "for the family" she eventually started speaking to me again, so I bought another... Since then I have used it on several offroad trips… Read more

and haven't had any issue with it. The SECOP compressor is efficient (4.8A) and very quiet, and the thick walls and door keeps the fridge cold. In cooler conditions (approx 20 degrees C) it uses less than 1Ah. I was surprised to read some of the other reviews mentioning how bad they are in terms of power consumption - I can only speak from personal experience so can't (and won't) comment on why they are getting poor economy from their batteries. I connected my fridge (set @ 3 deg C) up to a fully charged and conditioned 100ah deep cycle battery and battery monitor and it only used 0.4V @ 0.7ah over 40 hours (at 22 degrees C ambient temp).

The Bluetooth connectivity is also handy to keep an eye on the temp and voltage however you have to be within a few meters of the fridge for it to work. The set and actual temperature gauges on the fridge are also handy to keep an eye on temps.

The fridge itself is built solid with strong external handles that double up as tie down points. It has good thick rubber seals and the removable basket inside is very handy (as it can weigh a tonne when fully loaded with "salad" and "muesli" for the big fishing trips).

While it may not have the efficiency of an Engel or National Luna it's only a quarter of the price of an equivalent size fridge. I highly recommend them.

Works fine for me – Had mine for 2 years or so and it hasn't missed a beat. Yes it draws a bit of power but with a 120ah battery and a 110 as backup with an el cheapo 250 watt panel pushing 8 amps I haven't had a problem doing 2 week fishing trips but that's using it solely as a freezer with a separate gas fridge for beer etc so I'm not opening it up all the time.… Read more

The 4 degree difference between the readout and actual temp is correct. It's not as sturdy as the more expensive brands, I've put a few dents in the top of mine so be mindful of that. The cover that came with it doesn't quite seem to fit and the zipper crapped itself pretty quick so that's a downside. As with all fridges the more you put in them and the less times you open them up the better they will be, it takes more power to cool an empty space than one full of fish and mudcrabs so the more you put in it the better the efficiency. It's also best to first load it with cold or frozen stuff as it will draw a lot of power trying to cool or freeze things from the start.

More power hungry than Kim Jon ung – Unit set at -15 freezer, +3 fridge slow cool and 10.8volt cut out. Loaded and chilled 36hours before being taken out camping for the first time. Drained 100ah battery with 100w panel in no time only ran after that when 14.4v being supplied by the panels and 20amp charger. Connected to 250ah of battery's, 230w of panels and 20amp charger and… Read more

drained them 8hrs after sunset. Keeps shutting down before voltage drops to set voltage (10.8)+/_10% as per specified range in the manual usually around 11.3volts. According to specifications should only use 4.5amps clearly using a lot more. Piece of rubbish and do not recommend these units to anyone to purchase.

Got it for Xmas. Want even run on 2x 100ah deep cycle batteries – I want to return this thing. Won't run on deep cycle batterys in the caravan what waste of money. Bcf told me that this one draws less power than all of them. Was happy to pay more for something that works. Hopefully I can swap it for something that works.  Show details

Works perfectly – Bought our companion fridge freezer in Sept 2017, it works perfectly both fridge and freezer side or as a fridge only, we put it on and set it and left it for a couple of hours, transferred all our food (our fridge had broken down) and it did the job. It is big as are most 75/80 ltr fridge freezers, we carry it in our van on A/C or D/C  Show details
