Their approach to lead gen is so off putting
I was browsing the website last night and about 2 minutes after entering my details my phone rang twice from an unknown number. I didn’t ask for a call or want a call at 8pm but answered because I figured it wouldn’t stop until I spoke to them. I had multiple follow up emails afterwards and the whole process was just annoying. I’m not even bothered going back to the website now to look for other quotes.
Don’t call people unless they ask for it. After reading more reviews I can see tonnes of other people in a similar boat to me.

Disappointed - check and double-check. Don't let them sign you up on the spot.
A nice young man called me back after going through the online quote. Wanted to sign me up on the spot, which I wasn't comfortable doing, as I wanted to look through all the details before signing up and asked for 2-3 days to discuss with partner. He insisted on one day. Made the point that I was getting saving over $100 a month so I was much better off and I wouldn't be paying for things I didn't need. Missed his calls by chance and had another fellow call me back tonight. He was running through exclusions, to which one was 'birth related serv...
Read moreices'. The first young man said nothing about removing that from my cover, and never brought it up in the call, that he had decided on his that I no longer needed to be covered for pregnancy!! How disappointing - trying to rush me through and sign me up, whilst omitting vital information. I am happy for my call (which was supposedly recorded) to be reviewed and if he mentioned this to me I'll apologise, but no way did I ever ask to have 'birth related services' omitted from my cover and he didn't say he was removing it.1 comment

Gave me a call after I entered in details
I understand that I entered my details and that's going to be "well duh, no wonder why they called!" but it's still quite frustrating that I was just having a look and wasn't looking to commit but they person who called (I got a call on (03) 7017 7760) was adamant on selling me some insurance, which is fine that's their job, I'm glad they understood that I was researching and not looking to commit.
So, be wary of entering your contact details if you're having a look. I wish I learnt that beforehand!

Dodgy website!
I went onto the website, then noticed it was going to be asking me for all these "contact details" did my review check and could see NO WAY. Went back to the website to close it and found it was difficult to back track or close it without the help of Chrome. You remember those spammy pop up websites??? Yes feels like one.

Selling data
I used Compare the market to get house insurance quotes. Since then I get a call pretty much every week from a different company trying to sell me insurance, so far it's been funeral, life, income protection, home and contents and car. I have more blocked numbers on my phone than people I want to talk to. Never will I use them again.

Wrong advice
I called CTF just to see what was around for health insurance. I specified no waiting periods with any new provider, but they gave me a new provider with waiting periods. And now it is a mini nightmare trying to get back to my old provider. The back up customer service is poor once they have you. Such a shame as CTM is a great marketing concept.

Inaccuracy and bias against certain providers
When I used the website it rated my current provider last and, the quote as it turned out was about 20% more expensive than the price I signed up to with this provider for an upgrade. Going direct I was able to negotiate a waiving of waiting periods which I could never have done through Compare the Market. Finally, I was called and even though I said I had signed up for a policy change and was satisfied with the deal I was then questioned for about 10 minutes and then recommended I should go with another provider for almost $20 per month more....
Read more 15 minutes of my time wasted. Pretty clear they were partial to certain providers over others. Do a bit of your own research online from company websites, call 2-3 and make your decision cut out the impartial middle man!BillPerth, WA

Too hard to compare the market
Hello.
Compare the market seems like a good idea.
I was trying to fill in the online details to obtain comparative quotes on Health Cover.
I never made it to the end as I kept on being interrupted by staff wanting to have a real time chat.
I politely declined for the 3rd time and then twice more my progress was interrupted.
I gave up.

Their poor service does not compare
Firstly engaged them to find internet provider, they suggested Belong, I signed up. They gave the wrong date of birth to the provider and the provider would not talk to me. I managed to change that and then found out I have to pay $300 extra. I had explained the whole scenario of this being recognised as a new dwelling. They should have known that there was this charge and I should have been informed upfront.
On many calls to Compare they have just said that it was a mistake and they have done all they can to help me. They have done nothing e...

What are they really comparing?
How can "CompareTheMarket.com" say they're comparing the market when all the companies they're comparing are different branches of their own huge corporate body?
"Compare the market" actually means compare your model of car with their list of the models they consider to be a safe risk (irrespective of what kind of driver you are). If your car isn't on their list then they won't insure you. End of story!

please could I get a comparison between an Epson EB-S41 SVGA 3LCD Portable Corporate Multimedia Projector and a mini Home Theatre HD Multimedia LCD Projector
Ive been told the mini Home Theatre model has 7000 lumens which I can't believe as the brightness quality is very poor especially for a power point presentation which is the primary reason I purchased this model. I personally have a feeling Ive been duped and the Epson would have been a better purchase.....
