Shame I couldn't get a Compass Pool
We wanted to install a pool. Our choice came down to Compass Pool or Leisure Pool. We chose the latter. That's simply because the sales from Compass Pool Sydney was so arrogant. He refused to come a second time because he said he is so knowledgeful that he don't have to come back to explain. It is a shame, I did like Compass Pool's colour range, structure of the pool and the in floor cleaning system. Unfortunately, I just can't see how I can work with a sales that stop me from signing a contract. If the first person you meet from the company could be so unpleasant. I don't know what is the rest of the company would be like. I would hate to find out when they have got my money.
Most disappointing is being kind.
I signed up for a Compass Pool prior to our build in July 2017. The Rep left a few weeks later. A "Name Change" a few weeks later. The sub-contractors were leaving in droves, however the installation was completed and late. We moved into the house had great difficulty in trying to get any satisfaction with that company. No instructions no Manuals and complete lack of understanding of delivery of a product or service. Esana eventually went broke and I do not know where I stand with my warranties. I need to get the pool serviced by someone who un...derstands the product. The list of disappointments goes on and on and too numerous to mention. I looked up the website this morning to go to Rode Road. Said it was open at 10.00 am. Pics of pools at the site and No pools all filled in so this is a lie. I think the product will be OK but I would not recommend any one to spend money on a Compass Pool or any agent or franchise that is tasked with installation. I paid $65.000 for the whole including Travertine tiles. Problems at every stage. I feel as if was duped and ASIC and Fair Trading will be my next stop. MOST DISAPPOINTING!
Could not recommend a Compass pool
First problem, pool was not installed straight. It was 15cm out at one end. The removal and replacing of the pool led to a delay in our building plans, including a crane that got bogged cracking our new sewer pipes. The pool leaks water and although we have kept records, Compass keeps blaming it on evaporation. We are losing at least an inch of water overnight with the cover on. I don't know how this could be blamed on evaporation. As a consequence we are constantly topping the pool up which is costly. Also, the pool is never clean. Di...rt does not get directed to the central unit, it sits around the edges of the pool and on the steps. I don't know that the central unit sucks up any dirt. We have to vacuum the pool every week - so much for self cleaning!!
Mustn’t want any more work. Unable to get anyone from the company to contact me for a site inspect
I have contacted this company via email twice in the last 2 weeks requesting that a representative contact me about arranging a site inspection for a new pool. At this stage, I have not heard a thing from the company. If that is how they treat potential clients, how do they stay in business?
My Expensive dealing with Compass Pools
I was determined to have a Compass Pool and did not seek any other competitors quotation. As we are building a new house, I corresponded with Compass Pools over 12 months, during which time I stupidly signed a SPASA pool contract for $48,107 to install my pool. I paid the 10% deposit & builders warranty insurance. At this stage no site visit had occurred, just several sales discussions only. Once our slab was laid, we arranged for the salesman to come to site to establish final heights and the position of the pool, only to be given a further $1...0,000 variation for a 500mm drop edge beam and some minor additional concrete. This cost was over our budget so I sadly withdrew from the contract. We were given around $2,500 refund, which included our builders warranty insurance. I asked for a breakdown of the $3,040 I was left out of pocket and Compass's reply is: Breakdown has previously been sent through to you, but here is a little more detail- Sales Commission/ site plans Supplier Promotional Offer Administration Preparation of lodgement specifications Set up client file up in CRM Detailed sales to construction handover
Out of patience and out of pocket !
Well this is the first bad review I've ever posted. Compass Pools signed me up for a pool last August and when I asked for a completion date from Russell Fagan he was very reluctant to give me a date but assured me he would meet the deadline of 1st week of December . I had emphasized that I needed it to be finished by a that date ( giving them 4 -5 months to complete). My DA was already approved so I was told I was GOLD. I signed up and gave a deposit. I had to chase Compass for weeks to get something started and had some people involved that w...ere supposed to be getting things started but unfortunately all they did was send a bunch of emails and little else ! I realised that we wouldn't make the completion date and in fact would be lucky to get it done at all so I cancelled the contract. Paul from Compass agreed to refund my deposit less his expenses ( a few emails ). I get no response when I email him and NO refund. Seems they were happy to sign you up but not prepared to do the work. Easy way to pocket $4000 !!!! Promises but NO ACTION. Just warning others that this could happen to you as well.
Good product terrible company
Our dealings with Compass Pools Melbourne have been less than ideal. The pool was positioned incorrectly initially and when this was pointed out the workmen became aggressive towards my wife. The positioning of the pool was eventually sorted when one of the owners of the company visited the site but because it had to be lifted and replaced there are areas where the backfill has been incorrectly done and there are air pockets behind the pool shell. The filter system and pump was also incorrectly installed and an independent contractor from outsi...de the company had to be called in. We are now still experiencing problems with the pool and spa heater and after a site visit 2 weeks ago where they agreed there was a problem Compass have not been in contact and I will again have to spend time chasing this up. The pool is great the company and company service was lousy.
Pool cracked after one season. Avoid.
Had a Compass pool installed by a reputable local installer. Pool developed cracks after just one year. Repair was undertaken by Compass, but cracks have returned. The Compass website talks up the strength of their pools and so on which is difficult to accept. We will be seeking legal advice, unfortunately. Both wife and I agree if we had our time again we definitely would not have installed a pool at all and just stuck to the public pool, or maybe just bought a small above ground splash pool. Numerous problems with installation as well. My advice, save your money and don't go there. Disheartening experience.
What a waste of $30k
A spa/plunge pool that the heating unit has repeatedly failed, incomplete works (Venturi valves not fitted. Backwash to sewer not fitted) and the call centre and email they use so you can't actually deal with anyone is bordering on the fraudulent. Add to this they forgot to commission for 2 months and only the threat of legal action made them do anything.
Steer Well Clear of Compass Pools SEQ
Most of the negatives have already been covered off by other reviewers which I completely agree with. From my perspective, there appears to be a general lack of maturity amongst the leadership team which reflects in the culture of the business. Knowing what I know now I wish I had read the reviews on Product Review first - it would have stopped a lot of pain and disappointment :( Would recommend seeking other contractors
campase pool just care about their money , they do not care about the customer , all steps done by subcontractor
mistakes at every step and no one cares, and infloor cleaning sell for $10,000 at the end you will get it for less than $5000
Don't use them !
They use contractors for everything, I was told they had a compass team but they just use different contractors for every stage of the job and ask to meet the licensed pool builder I never seen him?
Once they have your money they don't care
We had a pool installed with Compass Pools in Brisbane North. When they first came out and measured up, they got the council approval and we signed all the contracts. On the first day that they came to dig the whole for the pool, they realised that it wouldn't fit in the contracted council approved area. When they moved the position of the pool, they found that there was some pipe work which required to be re directed in order to fit the pool in. $1600 later at our expense we had the hole dug. Our next drama with one of the contractors was when...they damaged our side gate. When we asked them to have it repaired they tried to deny that it was their fault and refused to have it fixed. Eventually when it was fixed they left the damaged posts with concrete in the yard, I asked them to remove it and received a txt back saying " don't be a lazy c..t and do it yourself". I later found out off our neighbours that they had also seen the contractors urinating in the backyard throughout the installation process as well. When I explained all of this to the head office of Compass Pools, I was told that they would send out the offending contractor with a gift and apology on the companies behalf. We never heard from them again or received their gift. Because the position of the pool was moved at the last minute, I doubt it even was approved by the council. A pool is meant to bring joy and happiness to a families life. Not on this occasion. I would NEVER recommend this bunch of un professional renegades to any one.
Questions & Answers
How do you Let a little water out of the pool?
We have an overflow pipe in the side of the pool - I believe these have now been installed in the filter basket.
To let water out of your pool you need to alter the valve so the filter motor pumps the water to a waste water outlet and the you return the valve to the regular setting. You MUST turn the motor off before altering any of those the valve settings. I would suggest you contact a pool maintenance person to look at your pool because pool plants often have an individual setup of their pipes, motors, valves etc.
Hi Ida, you are best to discuss this with the company who installed your pool or your local pool technician as every install will be different.
Sincerely, Compass Pools Australia
Hi I am about to get a pool put in and still debating whether or not to put in a self cleaning pool or one that requires the use of a robotic cleaner. I live in Southern NSW. It is a compass pool about 8m x 4m. The cost is quite expensive first up, but then is it? Do you save money on maintenance if you go for the self cleaning pool?
If the pool is in the open, not surrounded by trees then robotic might be an option. If you are anywhere near trees that shed leaves etc. or in a windy part of the state go the self-cleaning option, quality of life is more important than $.
I’m trying to contact your dealer here in Toowoomba ,Qld but with no luck. The phone number posted on the web gives me a fax tone. Any good contact number I can ring? Thanks
We are in Sydney so I think would be Compass Pool Sydney
