billed for website builder
Billed for website builder that was never ordered or used.
Not even an heads up that they are going to invoice....but they are more than happy to send you weekly payment reminders that your domain will expire in 3 months.
This seems to be their normal operating procedure....plus the standard 'mea culpa'.
edit1: The website builder is complementary for three months and just get added to automatic invoicing once 3 months are finished. The 'the poor help desk person tried his best, and showed me email notifications from my user account that emai...ls were sent, however they never arrived in spam or inbox, while the bills did arrive. It should be noted that with every order, auto payment is reactivated. edit2: A lovely person from Crazy Domains contacted me regarding this review and offered me a credit or refund. Will update once credit is received edit3: the help desk person also send me an email for a refund now, which I declined since I took the offer from edit2
Simple things, Brilliant, but Domain Name Changes, Impossible
Just a simple matter, but I had problems with it before. I purchased a domain name for my book, Mortal Immortal, and wanted my current domain cosmicenvoy.com replaced by mortalImmortal.com. I called support which answered relatively quickly, only about 5 minutes waiting.
The first sign that something was wrong was after I told the person what I wanted. They told me that it is an uncomplicated process that many customers usually do themselves. Well, I said I would like that facility too, but I do not have it. Even though I am a long-term custom...er from Crazy Domain, brand new customers receive this curtsey extended to them, but not to a loyal long-term customer. The second sign was when I told the customer care person that I have asked for this before and that there were complications. Well, quite forthrightly, the customer care person said that he is not the other person and that everything would go smoothly. In essence, they stopped me from telling him what problems I had previously encountered. Everything looked to be going great, according to what I saw on the domain manager area and the customer care person walked me through everything quite expertly. In the end, they said, that the changes must propagate through the system, and this may take 2 to 4 hours. 2, 4, 8, 24 hours later nothing. I send an email following this up and get a phone call back, oh, we must inform the SSL 'Team.' You need to send the SSL team a separate message, and the same person as the day before told me exactly what to write. So, I did
Crazy Domain Will not Honour their advertised Price match Guarantee
I am an existing Crazy Domain customer, my email hosting is just about due for renewal, I shopped around and found a cheaper price contacted Crazy Domains with the advertised price and they refuse to honour their price match guarantee. That is fraudulent advertising to me?
Situation resolved - They set auto renew on your account and continually charge for things you never asked for
Situation has now been resolved - Found out over the last year they have taken over $600 from my account for products I never use/ asked for/ or even know what they are! Highly recommend you double check your auto renew option as they set it as a default option. My email address was out of date, so didn't receive the notifications.
Scam you out of your money anyway the can. (updated) see below
Money is sitting my my account balance at crazy domains.
I get a email reminding me to renew a domain, i hit the express renew link. and it charges me to full amount to my credit card and doesn't use my account balance.
I ask for this to be rectified,
impossible they say:
they cannot refund my credit card.
will not use my account balance.
will not refund my account balance.
they offered to cancel my account and domain, so i lose my domain and account balance.
they are literally saying expect these bogus extra charges or we will cancel it all and you still lose....(edit below) after this review, the people who monitor reviews for crazy domains are the ones that get things done, they where able to sort this issue and it hunky dory, need more good customer service people like those :)
Crazy Domains Websites
I have purchased a website from Crazy Domains. Firstly the service is great but the product is very poor. The product comes with no SSL have to purchase later, The website is NOT mobile friendly according to google and google reports, the website sometimes does not show and then does on the world wide web. Also google ranking is very poor and does not include features to rank high. Also very over prices. I have tried 8b which is a fraction of the price for a much better result and has ranked almost immediately and works (This is not an add for ...8b) Also note I think the service from 8b may not be very good as they do not respond to emails as of a few days. Would definitely NOT use crazy domains for websites however as there are plenty of much better options.
Quick online chat
The online chat function is easy and responsive! It saves time on the phone and also allows for step by step screenshots to guide through customer portal aspects. Highly recommend.
I just have one domain hosted and still have issues to deal with !
I have been working in the industry and I know it just takes minutes . I have renewed my domain and it still doesn't reflect when I do a public "whoIs" search. it still shows old date. After raising a concern with customer support , I have been told that there is problem with public WhoIs Database.
However, The crazy domain support executives were helpful in resolving the issue in couple of days
Check the Facts before you pay for something that is never needed to set up a website
My issue with Crazy Domains is the lack of knowledge from some of their staff. A recent error (based on the lack of staff training) led to me being charged a $194 fee for the set up of a new web builder / SSL Security for a second domain name I had registered. The unfortunate fact was the Consultant forced me in to paying the additional fee when a month prior I was already charged the fee. My issue was that I wanted to use a new Domain Name on my existing website design - if she had checked she would have been told this was possible... The cons...ultant unknowingly told me I couldn't, and would have to pay an entirely new fee, and then re-build my old website (which took 6 hours) under the new domain name (there's a story to all of this)... At the end of the day I am owed $194 but Crazy Domains seem to take your money in a second but take for ever to reimburse me when they have recognised the error of their staff member and acknowledged I should receive a Refund / Credit. The moral of the story is, NEVER presume the Staff know what then are talking about - presume that there IS the possibility of things being done another way before you get charged for it. And, any business who recognises they are at fault should reimburse their client immediately.
Foreign Transactions Fees?
I am a Crazy Domains user for over 5 years now and overall, they provide good service.
However, I did renew some products this week in order of $267 and $232.
One thing I was not told on the phone when I was paying for these services is that I will incur Foreign Transactions Fees of $8 and $7 respectively.
I don't understand why is there such a lack of transparency. Do they think the customers will not notice these fees?

I am currently with the morons of Smart Artist and they are dreadful. I'll do a review to warn others.
Looked at this page and looks like Crazy is crazy.
I need to re new a few domains but not sure who to trust.
Anyone found a good company to renew domains.
MelbIT are great but at $140 for two years they cost to much where most are about $40 for two years.
Stay away from Crazy Domains, anything is better - even if you pay more.
Hi. I can totally recommend http://namecheap.com They have great prices and service. Only drawback is no phone number for support, online only, but they always answer 24/7 and solve any problem.
