Great Customer Support
Purchased the 4 burner (built in) for our new alfresco area, great looking BBQ and the crossray design is fantastic as its almost eliminates flair ups. Had a few issues with the first unit and as stated by many reviews on here Brandon from Thermofilm made sure it was all sorted with a few simple emails.. ended up replacing the whole unit with no questions.
If you find it gets super hot even on low and you don't want to have to cook on the top section I suggest to convert it to Natrual gas as we found it reduced the heat just enough to make it ...perfect for all cooking (top or bottom). One important suggestion for anyone planning on plumbing it in to Natural gas, get your plumber involved early and to look at the bbq onsite as the instructions that came with the natural gas kit are incorrect (they are for the old model) and resulted in requiring a return visit from my plumber at an additional cost to change the location of the gas connection / reinstall flex pipe inside bbq. I also had to replace part of the joinery sub straight drilled to suit and update the stone order to change the location of the gas flex holes which could of been avoided with earlier inspection! Overall great value BBQ for the price point, clean modern design and fantastic customer service would recommend to anyone.

This BBQ is by far the best one I've ever had.
The heat is even throughout the surface and it gets very hot so I often end up using the top shelf instead. Quality seems to be spot on as well, but I've only had it for 6 weeks, but so far so good.
Purchased in December 2020 for $4,500.00.
Not only is the bbq great, the customer service is exceptional. My hood was damaged and Brandon Lee from customer service sorted it out straight away. Great product backed by great after service.

Best BBQ available
Reviewed BBQ options across all brands to replace our Webber. We bought the Crossray 2 burner about a month ago: used most nights instead of the stove, so gets a lot of use: The two burner gives about the same cooking area as our old 4 burner because the Crossray heating means we are cooking on the racks more effectively.
Pork ribs: 45 min; Portuguese chicken: 20 min; Porterhouse steak: 2min each side max
Weight is not excessive, so it can easily be moved around but not move while being used
Easy to put together- yes it is IKEA proof and the directions work
Easy to clean compared to both the Webber and standard 4 burner we had.
Very quick to reach cooking temp and does not burn the food.
Easily the best bbq we have ever had
Purchased in September 2020 for $799.00.
As a professional chef I was incredibly excited about purchasing this bbq. I spent a long time doing my research and decided the crossray could be the perfect outdoor bbq. The concept is fantastic, I am sad to say that the quality however does not match the price. I purchased the built in 4 burner at considerable expense and designed my entire outdoor kitchen around it. The bbq arrived and the burner control knobs were damaged. These were replaced by the distributor and easy to install. However within 3 months one of the LED lights on the front...has also failed. Also and more importantly the bbq itself appears to be badly designed or manufactured. The two top racks do not fit neatly, they are too short (or the bbq is too wide) so they only just fit on top of the grooves and with the slightest knock (rotating food) they fall down onto the main cooking area and end up ruining all the food on the grill. I've had to remove them for good now. I'm absolutely devastated, I designed my built in kitchen around this piece and was hoping to use it for many years but now I hardly use it.
What an upgrade
After 14 Years of cooking on an old style of BBQ it was time for a new & up to date one, that I could build into a outdoor kitchen. The guys at Crossray were very helpful. Thank. I am looking forward to show it off to my mates.

Great Customer Service
We purchased the 4 burner trolley BBQ and have had it for approx 3 weeks. We have cooked steaks, sausages and pork ribs and have been totally impressed. We did have a problem with number 4 burner initially, one phone call and 24 hours later a new burner was delivered and no further issues. Love the BBQ and great customer service!
This BBQ keeps getting better and so does the service...
When we first got the BBQ we thought it was good but now we think - WOW!!!
It cooks everything so much better and I've had some nice BBQ's over the years. Steak was amazing, we had a roast lamb the other night and the tuna steaks were superb. It cooks so well and so fast!
The service from these guys has been outstanding as well. Brandon is excellent. Always helpful and just keeps on trying to help.

Everything we wanted in a bbq
This bbq is everything we were looking for. After hours of research on a bbq. We decided this is exactly what we wanted.
It has so many options in the way of cooking and the food tastes amazing. It is compact but can fit so much on it. A lot more than our old 4 burner. We were going to get a 6burner until we found this. We dealt with Michelle from Crossray/Heatstrip
Michelle has been nothing but amazing and her customer service is amazing, Michelle goes above and beyond for her customers which is greatly appreciated.
We couldn’t be happier with our purchase and our customer service! Thank you
Best BBQ I have ever owned
The Crossray 4 burner is a fantastic BBQ. I love using it. The heat it generates and the speed at which it heats up is unparalled. I use it for cooking steaks, pizzas, slow cooking ribs and making unbelievable moist and tasty chickens on the rotisserie. Brandon has provided amazing sales and service support in the year I have had this BBQ . I can't ask for anything better.

A few issues but outstanding customer service so all fixed
We were super excited to finally have the Crossray BBQ arrive after reading all the amazing reviews.
From measurements taken it fit perfectly into our gorgeous sandstone outdoor kitchen structure to replace our previous Built-in BBQ.
Because our Sandstone structure does not allow access to underneath the BBQ like a BBQ trolley would, the installation caused a lot of frustration due to the fact that the attached hose is much shorter then standard and exits the BBQ at the bottom. This made it tricky to put on a flat surface so we spent a lot of ...time trying to make it work and had to give up in the end. I contacted Thermofilm Australia for advise on what to do along with some photos and they were just amazing, not to say one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had! Their knowledgeable product specialist called me back and explained everything in detail and offered to send out a longer hose to make this work for us in our specific Built-in setting. Issues unfortunately happen and they sure did for us, but for me the main selling point is how a company deals with the issues, so I am left a happy customer despite a lot of swearing trying to install it :-)

4 burner built in, best choice
We bought a 4 burner built in model, converted it to natural gas. It looks and feels fantastic. Very happy with our choice. New grilling techniques have to be explored, however new methods are very well explained with video and tutorials. Have fun

I have finally found it!
I was researching Weber, and Ziegler& Brown BBQs to replace my latest enameled tin disaster when I came by chance across a YouTube video of Jack the Greek using the Crossray four burner trolley model. Intrigued by the design that seemed to fit my thinking and cooking requirements I made inquiries locally to see if I could view one. Two hours and several calls later, no such luck. Rare as hens teeth. Never heard of them. Undaunted I cast the net wider and found one (one only floor stock) at HNs on the Tweed, a five hour round trip from where we ...live. I made the sales person swear on his life that he would not sell it until we got there the next morning. We were not disappointed. It was dusty, with a few dings, so we negotiated hard for a good price. It was a struggle to get it into the vehicle, but at least I did not have to assemble it from scratch. (I hate following poorly described assembly manuals) We have now had it nine days and I have cooked T-Bones, Pork Chops, Butterflied Chicken, Bread, Danish Pastries, Pizzas, and a variety of Char-grilled and Roast Vegetables. I have used it for seven of the nine days and only used a small inside burner once or twice. I have been running it on what I thought was a near empty gas bottle for all of that time and it is still pumping. I love it. It looks Schmick and Shiny and is built like a tank. I think my wife is jealous. I hug it every time I put it to bed. Be aware - it is fast and furious. It has a tendency to cremate. Change your old BBQ thinking, once it has reached your desired temp' turn it down, turn it down! It becomes even more economical and cooks like a dream. I am now building an outside kitchen around it. Watch out Jack the Greek, here comes Paul the Pom'. Great design and function. Five star, AAA rating.
Dealing with Thermofilm Australia for purchase of this BBQ has been very easy. I can't fault the customer service they have provided. It has been really great; very responsive and friendly. Competitive prices too. Next review will be for using the BBQ!

- 4-Burner Trolley
- Verified purchase
I placed my order with Bunnings after about a year of umming and ahhing whether to buy it or not. My big issue with it was that I always like to see things before I buy them and this was eventually purchased sight unseen. When it arrived, I put it together and was immediately impressed with the build quality. It's so much better than anything I've seen at this price point. Then I started cooking on it and at first I had a bit of trouble controlling the temperatures and burning the food. It's not like anything else I've ever cooked on before so ...there is a little bit of a learning curve. Eventually, I figured out that the main issue was with the cheap Extra Virgin Olive Oil I was using with all my cooking. It just can't come close to coping with the intense heat of the Crossray. So I decided to try some Chosen Foods Avocado Oil from Costco (advertised smoke point 260c). Although it's a bit more expensive, that fixed all my issues and now the food doesn't taste burnt. In fact, it's juicier and tastier than anything I've tried and it heats up and cooks so much quicker than my old Weber Q that this replaced. If you are like me and on the fence about buying a Crossray BBQ, don't hesitate, just buy it. It does take a little bit of getting used to as the heat is very intense but once you get to know it, you'll be so glad you have it in your backyard.
We have nothing but praise for our new Crossray infrared 4-burner BBQ (trolley mounted model), which is a fantastic piece of kit. Impressed by the integrity of engineering during the DIY assembly phase, it’s when you fire it up that you really begin to appreciate the benefits of infrared over conventional. With virtually zero warm-up necessary you’re cooking almost immediately and, as you will discover, on noticeably lower settings too. Our gas usage has easily halved in comparison to our last BBQ. Heat spread is even with no hot spots, perfect...for when using a pizza stone, which we do weekly. Double skinned hood an extremely worthwhile safety feature, further reducing fuel use as well as the potential for accidental burns. Securing strap for gas bottle inside the cabinet shows just how much thought has gone in to producing a superior product. We have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this exceptional product.
Purchased the 4 burner Crossray in January after throwing out another BBQ that rusted out and under performed. The Crossray exceeded my expectations and the heat it pumps out is awsome across the whole grille cooking surface. Able to cook meat like a commercial grille and made us realise we've been struggling and trying to get a decent outcome on our previous units. Using the Crossray demonstrated we were wasting our time with the previous BBQs trying to achieve a consistent sear. Temperature control is great, quick and consistent. Our internal electric oven broke just before Easter and to boot we were able to bake hot cross buns and bread in the Crossray as well. Highly recommend.
Exceptional BBQ, with fantastic customer support!
Cooks food beautifully and quickly, was most impressed with the quality and design.
One of the side tables had a small scratch when i un-boxed it. Contacted the Crossray customer support team, who i had been making inquiries with prior to purchasing the BBQ, and they sent out a replacement immediately. The support and backup for this product is unmatched.
I highly recommend this BBQ!

Hi there, what is the composite bench top like? Is it plasticky or more like a manufactured stone? Thanks.

Hello. I'm really impressed with your reviews but am wondering if there are any plans to manufacture a 6 burner built in?
I'm also struggling to find the dimensions of the 4 burner built in.
Thanks in advance

We were considering an Ooni or Rockboxx gas pizza oven to complement our existing reliable, but very old 4 burner gas barbecue. Can anyone that cooks pizzas advise the typical time taken on the Crossray to cook a pizza, and how do they compare to wood fired pizzas. Also do you cook pizzas on a metal plate, or a stone on top of the grill plates. Thanks Chris Healesville Vic.
Hi Chris. I have the CrossRay 2 burner bbq. I do pizzas on mine . I use a pizza stone.I bought a pizza rack from Bunnings that holds 3 pizza stones, so can do 3 pizzas at a time. It’s best to keep the stones up off the grill plate. I get the bbq to 300c in 10 minutes. Then i put the pizza on the stone and only takes 5 to 6 minutes depending on how thick the base is and how much topping. Pizza are very nice. I still think wood fired pizza are a bit better. But I love cooking on my CrossRay. Especially thick ribeye steaks.
