workmanship questioned-could have been excellent
overall the build was excellent with attention from all concerned particularly the building supervisor, unfortunately on a handover you dont climb all over the roof and assume things are done properly, 20 years later we are still experiencing water leaks, when contacted customer service we were told must be the installation of air conditioning system !
Great Service, very attentive
Our Consultant Jasmine has been very attentive and flexible with any and all requests, information and great at providing design suggestions in our pre construction phase of our build.
Communication has been second to none and is very easy to work with to achieve desired outcome.
Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to build with Dale's.
Bad experience with Dale Alcock
Hi. I am a foreigner. I chose Dale Alcock because they win a lot of award and we thought we will get a very good result from them even the price is expensive. But the Ending is the worst Ending. Here is why,
1. In the contract said Aircon suitable for the house. What we get is aircon system that only can be used for half the house, either bedrooms or living room. Dale Alcock said it is our fault that we did not ask the detail about the aircon since beginning.
2. Lousy workmanship. We found lot of defects that need to be addressed but it is so ...

We had some great laughs during our meetings as we designed our dream home guided by Rick’s many years of experience within the building industry. He answered all our questions and really made us feel that our business was appreciated. We would like to thank Rick for his friendly and professional service in ensuring our smooth transition into the pre-construction stage.
Has met all expectations
We are currently at the pre-start stage and Michael has been very helpful in the process. We used a display home which we liked as a template and made several changes. Michael helped us with the design and made suggestions with the final changes. We are now at the demolition stage of our old home in preparation for the site works. Hopefully everything else will go as smoothly as the design process as we move forward onto the build.
Great customer service
We are at the Pre-Start stage of the building process and have found the customer service to be great. From the New Homes Sales Consultant (Michael Gilomen) to the personnel in at central office, nothing has been a problem. Emails and phone calls have been dealt with in a timely and professional manner. We are at the early stages but look forward to working with the other Dale Alcock team members in building our property.
Overall quite satisfied so far
Peter was very helpful throughout our initial planning phase and was very approachable with any concerns I had. When I first visited display homes, every other company seemed to not care/want to talk to me as I didn’t have a block ready to go right then and there - I imagine due to the busy period with Govt grants. Peter however was extremely helpful and gave me plenty of explanation about the whole process including finding the right block. During Prestart there were a few hiccups/things that came up although that is to be expected with any project and the team at DAH were quite helpful with rectifying most issues and working around what couldn’t be changed.
Cracks in walls, cornices and ceiling.
We built with dale Alcock just over 5 years ago and a number of cracks open up in all area a short time there were fixed at the 6 mth but what was the point as the all have reopened and gotten worse plus most of the stuff the inspector pointed were determined not important by the guys doing the repair so ignored.
Now we have crack in most door frame surrounds, hallway ceiling and areas of cornines when I call and asked if they were covered by any warranty as they were all original repaired I was told no as they were part of general wear not to sure how I am wearing the ceiling and wall but what we’ve excuse you can come up with I guess.
Not happy with customer services at all
Built a non-compliant roof with no collar ties
Bought a Dale Alcock home built in 2005 that was constructed in 2003 that I am now Selling.
The buyers building inspector discovered that the roof has zero collar ties and that the roof construction my home is not compliant with the building code.
It turns out that as I am not the original owner, Dale Alcock will not fix the roof that is non-complaint with the building code. If I were the original owner then they would because the house was built less than 24 years ago.

Lack of consitant professional site supervision during the build resulted in a number of issues during the build that were only picked up by hiring my own building inspector, items including but not limited to structural roof timbers missing and overall lack of quality workmanship, this has resulted in ongoing call outs and repairs which they have followed through with but is still disheartening.

Specific requirements sorted without drama
We recently decided to build a new house in an old area of Perth. We had some specific requirements due to the block. We contacted several builders but all struggled to comprehend what we wanted. We then contacted Dale Alcock and from our very first meeting it was clear they could understand what we wanted and had a can do attitude. The service we received from Stuart, Leyla and Gina was excellent. Specially Leyla stood out. We could not have wished for a better start to this project.
Well managed project
Dale Alcock Developments were one of a number of builders that were consulted prior to requesting a tender for a nine unit residential development. From the outset all DAD's staff were very accommodating from initial discussions, quoting, pre-start nothing was too much trouble.
During the build process both the Site Manager and Project Manager were available to discuss any aspect of the project, whether over the phone, by email or on site. The project was well managed with a clean and organised site and trades that appeared happy to be involved...
We won't choose Dale again
Firstly, when we built our house I probably would have written a review much like the others here - a review where you feel really happy with a brand new house and you are about to move in or just moved in. However that type of review tells other very little except that the sales process went well. You can't tell the quality of the house at this stage, so any reviews of the sales process are of little worth.
We built a custom home with Dale back in 2003. Nine years later, in 2012, I complained to Dale Alcock Homes and the Building Manager, an...engineer and the building supervisor came as a group to inspect my house. I showed them cracks from the front of my house to the rear (many rooms had cracks). I showed them wall cracks on the inside walls and the outside walls and a crack in our kids bathroom floor. At the time I didn't show them the large long crack on my ensuite floor. Many floor tiles have very big cracks. It wouldn't have mattered though. These three experts (not one but three) offered no logical reason (just theoretical reasons - see below) why my house had so many cracks. They were hoping to deflect the blame for the cracks on "it is your soak wells that probably caused it", but this was easily dismissed much to their surprise. I asked for a follow up letter about our meeting but suspect the following line in their follow up letter was copied from a building manual. "we informed you the most common contributor of cracking is due to settlement of surrounding soils, thermal conditions and the performance of dissimilar material. " How any of that general statement relates to my house who knows. For example the surrounding soils were well and truly settled when I built. Thermal conditions - Don't they build houses for Australian thermal conditions?

Finished the house in october 2020. And lots of cracks, scratches, and other defect thing. And until now I ask for you to come and visit onsite and see it for yourself. But until now nobody dare to come and talk and fix the defects? Is this how Dale Alcock who won alot of award treat their customers?
The contract said to provide Aircon to suit the size of the house. What we get is aircon system that only can be used for half the house, either bedrooms or living room. Just had a phone call with Jeremy. He said that for Delano house, Dale Alcock supplies aircon only half of the required capacity for the whole house to all their customers. That is their standard.
I wonder is that true? Or Am I the only one who got tricked by the contract that says Dale Alcock will supply aircon that suit the house but what they mean is only half the house capacity?
