No more enthusiasm
We had a great start with pre construction. Now it’s just piled up frustrations and disappointments. Each date provided for progress never happened. The delay? Yes, that’s the most frustrating. We had an open mind about how difficult it is to get resources these days but when you had the materials laying on your block for weeks and there’s no movement, that’s when you feel disappointed. They said they have the people here and there and took on the right amount of building but where are they really? The sunny days soon will pass and our tin stil...
Read morel laying on the sand. 10 May you said, it’s June now. Next week you said, weather permitting. Of course! Then it will be another month. We used to look forward to seeing the house, now we aren’t even enthusiastic about it anymore. We are reflecting on our decisions especially listening to such flowery promises that never happen. Expect the worst. Our build will probably exceed the time frame. Imagine months of delay already, what more can you expect? November slab, January we had the bricks done, now it’s June, only electrical, plumbing and timbers. From 2021, maybe we’ll see the house done in 2023. Should have built a smaller house, seems like they focus on those. Now we are extending our rental to who knows til when.- Verified
Our dream coastal home

We are mid-way through the construction of our build, during what has been very trying times for everyone. We’re so happy to have chosen Dale Alcock as our builder and although we’re not finished yet, we’re really happy with the progress so far albeit with the unavoidable delays which were completely out of everyone’s control.

Read moreeniably a massive asset to Dale’s. From the early communications with Harry, he was always more than willing to help, in fact he always went out of his way to help! He would be back to me straight away with answers or advise with no hint of old-school pushy salesman tactics. The fact he helped so much prior to us even signing up was one of the major deciding factors to go with Dale Alcock. Once we purchased our block and the questions started pouring in from me, Harry was always straight back with an email or call. I’d send emails late in the evening thinking I’d get a response in the next day or so and before I knew it, Harry was back with a reply. He never seemed to be phased by any of the questions, even when I was more than likely repeating myself, so again, a big hat’s off to Harry for his knowledge, consultative style and general high levels of customer care! We were then lucky enough to have Michelle as our ‘Selections Consultant’ who again was superb in helping my wife and I through what was an extremely daunting part of the process. She put us at ease and really did go above and beyond to help us, so again another thanks to you Michelle! We’re getting close to lock-up and the workmanship so far has been good. There’s been a couple of little hiccups, but nothing fundamental and nothing that couldn’t be fixed (which it was with little debate). Here’s hoping we continue on this path which I’m sure we will, and we’re all very excited to see the finished article. Customer focused delivery of my house!
Throughout the build I was extremely well looked after by my Client Liaision Officer Carmelina Drew. All the queries & and items I need attention or changed was dealt with in a very efficient manner. I would always be responded to either that day or the next day advising of the item being actioned.
The quality of the build itself was also good. Structurally I can not fault the build - I am from a construction background and checking on the build throughout I was satisfied with its structural integrity.

Biggest investment excitement ruined!
We have had issues from start to now!
Trouble with consultant, trouble with roof, trouble with ongoing delays, trouble with moving downlights and a tv point to a new location. Being told yes you can to be told no you can’t the next day! This is the biggest investment of our lives and to be told no you can’t move lights / tv point because it’ll cause delays when we have already suffered so many delays what’s another one to add when it’s how we want OUR house to be!
It has been one of the worse experiences for us, it’s not enjoyable at all.
Would not recommend!

Render peeling off fence
We built with Dale Alcock Homes and had trouble from start to finish.
We been in the house just over 3 years and the front fence render is starting to peel off and discolour, you can see the outline of the bricks coming through the render.
Right from the beginning the fence has been to a poor standard, the wood slats were not painted properly with big sections with no paint at all we had to get them back 4 times and a visit from the supervisor for them to paint it properly and even then they had to touch up the render because they got the paint...

Fungus on my roof
Trying to get some answers to why my Surfmist Colorbond roof is growing black fungus soon after it was built be aware of this company they don’t want to know after home is complete this has been ongoing and not a thing done but send me a solution on how to clean it .

They [Content Removed] It Up
If you want a builder that over promises & under delivers at every stage of the building process, then choose Dale.

You can pick up mistakes with their representatives at literally every in person meeting that you have, with quotes given by the staff and multiple promises that these features will be fixed / added to the next version of revised documents. Then they will completely drop the ball and never follow through with these verbal promises. On top of that they will remove entire items from your contract without informing you, and they fully expect you to pick up on these unauthorised changes along the way or they will throw all blame squarely back at you when these items are missed from your build.Thank you for your feedback. Read more prefer to blame us for not being able to accurately read and pick up problems in your detailed plans and drawings, although we had previously been assured by the sales rep that there was no need for us to do that as the plans were supposdely for your reference on how to build the residence. Communication and build quality counts
We have been very happy with the planning and communication with Liz and the team at Dale Alcock so far. They are building 2 houses for us and will be finished to budget. Just Moved to Construction!
We've just been moved to construction and whilst we're yet to see movement on site, we've completed all the pre-construction Milestones.
Our initial contact with Dale Alcock Homes was at the Essence display home in Ellenbrook. We were unsure of when we could start the process but were thinking it was at least 12 months off. We ended up starting the process a lot earlier than we thought and the most positive part of our experience has been the team at DA Homes. Our Pre-start consultant Corrine was incredibly helpful on our pre-start day and for any queries we had after we had made our selections, she made us feel confident in the choices we made but also assisted us when we were struggling to decide. This whole experience could have been very stressful but she made it an enjoyable experience and we feel so excited to see our choices come to life as our build progresses! Our Pre-Construction Liaison was Shelley and she was also incredibly helpful, she was always available when we had questions and kept us in the loop of our progress. workmanship questioned-could have been excellent
overall the build was excellent with attention from all concerned particularly the building supervisor, unfortunately on a handover you dont climb all over the roof and assume things are done properly, 20 years later we are still experiencing water leaks, when contacted customer service we were told must be the installation of air conditioning system !

I built my home in 2009 and still live in it. One of the rear rooms has bad cracking in the cornice and wall above the window and the window frame is hard to open and close to the point where the frame is not square and the glass has 'moved'.
